Does security video show ghost in South Carolina city hall?

ANDERSON, SC — Employees at South Carolina’s Anderson Municipal Business Center say they’re seeing ghosts. The sightings started last month, with the latest happening Thursday morning.
Security guard Rob Colbert said he was working late when he saw something move out of the corner of his eye.
“So I stopped talking and I went back, and checked it, and when I saw it I said, ‘Huh,’” Colbert said.
He said he saw movement on the surveillance camera in the credit union office when no one was there.
“Just like a little ghostly figure, walking around,” Colbert described.
The video shows a white blur, sometimes two, floating around the room to a chair, sitting down and disappearing.
IT Director Mark Cunningham, who oversees the surveillance systems for the Municipal Business Center, said he checked the cameras and found nothing out of order.
“We really have no idea what it could be,” Cunningham said.
The staff said they tried to come up with explanations for the blur.
They tried closing the blinds, thinking it might have been a reflection from outside, but it showed up again and looked even clearer than before.
They cleaned the camera lens and resealed the camera cover, but the image reappeared.
They said they see the image only in the credit union office, and it doesn’t cause any trouble.
“If it is a ghost, maybe it’s Casper the friendly ghost,” said Frances Parham.
The staff is calling the image Claire, for clairvoyant. Employees said they don’t have an explanation for why a ghost would haunt the building.
The Municipal Center is brand new, and the building that used to occupy the lot was a service station.

The spirit, as it appears in the video, is consistent with my experience. Most of my sightings are shadowy figures or bodies of energy that appear to the eye as a ripple through the air, somewhat like the effect created by heat convection, except with form and, usually, accompanied by a drop, or no change, in temperature.

Very interesting. I wonder if they’re going to have investigators in.
I’d say bug on the dome that covers the camera. Easy way to test that is to put another camera in the room and compare the two.
I have seen bugs on surveillance camera lenses and covers before, and this neither looks like nor behaves like an insect.

Depending on the distance to the bug, size of the bug, and color of the bug, they can appear quite differently from each other. Search around a bit and you’ll see what I mean. Comparing a single clip to the one posted is much like using a single data point to draw a conclusion.
I feel it’s not a bug at all… It is probably an individual who was very attached to the former establishment.An owner,employee or perhaps maybe a costumer who met an untimely death. Maybe hasn’t finished it’s business here in the real world and needs help to move on. What do you think about that ZAK OL BOY, make it exciting!!!
Contrary to Luna, my impression is that it’s a child. But that is my impression and it’s based on nothing scientific.
Also, I wonder why so many people think that entities “need help moving on.” Does it ever occur to anyone that they’re precisely where they want to be, doing exactly what they want to do?
Sometimes, I think it’s best to live and let afterlive.
P.S. I wouldn’t be so sure that our world/dimension is more or less real than any others.
Dreamsinger, if you reread my comment, you will see that I’ve written that I’ve seen “bugs” (plural) before; and, again, do not believe the figure captured in the subject surveillance video to be an insect. I added the known bug clip to my comment so that others could make a distinction, not to offer it as a “single data point,” as you assume.
Please, pay better attention before drawing YOUR conclusions.
Interesting. What is curious is that it appears in the same room but does not always move in the same way or direction. Hard one to explain with any certainty – looks like some type of energy source. I didn’t notice time stamps on the footage from the security cameras: I’m wondering what time of day this occurs most often.
