I went through my Wellington evidence today. I have 78 audio anomaly files from the time spent up there. I’m not sure what I will do with them yet. I was holding them back to release as an evidence package with the documentary – which is now defunct. Still, I have hope that at some point I will find some way to tell the story of Wellington. I think I will save most of the audio files until I’ve made a decision one way or another.

That being said, this is the clearest – and oddest – audio clip that I personally have come across. There were three of us present – me and two adult males. We were hiking back from the Cascade tunnel, which is about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the parking lot. The trail ends at the Cascade tunnel, so there was no one on that end of the trail. As we walked to the parking lot, there were no people on the trail from that direction, either. Which means we were quite likely about 1/4 mile from any people when this was recorded.

My recorder, an Olympus DS-40 was in my front pocket with the microphone peeking out the top. We did not hear any of the weird sounds at the time – and it is unlikely that I wouldn’t have noticed someone speaking directly into my pocket (or an animal whooping into my pocket), since those noises seem to actually be louder than our conversation.

When the people I’ve sent this to have listened to it, they actually have ignored the audio anomaly thinking that it couldn’t possibly be what I am talking about because it is so obvious. It is. Keep in mind – there is one female voice (mine) and two male voices that you will hear. Over the top of it, you will hear oddities that weave their way throughout our conversation. The first is a series of whoops. I have considered that it could be an owl; however, I haven’t found an owl whose call that matches, and again, it was over the top of my voice. We didn’t hear an owl, nor was there one flying near my microphone.

Next, you will hear me say something about “nature”. Right around that time you will hear two clicks and what sounds like someone saying something like “pkew!” To me, it sounds like the noises a kid makes when they are coking and firing an imaginary gun.

Finally, at the end, you will hear a high pitched flat sounding voice do what sounds like a fake laugh.

There are other things underlying our conversation in this as well; however, they are woven so well into our talking and footsteps that I couldn’t really say whether it was anomalous or environmental noise.

I did have a walkie talkie on my belt. It was turned off at the time, because we’d been filming and we didn’t want to interrupt the filming. I also had my cell phone in my back pocket, but I get no cell phone service at Wellington.

I really have no idea about this one – it is just darn strange. I’d be curious to hear theories. Have you heard an owl that sounds like this? Would it be louder than our conversation?

Ryan liked this one better. It is Regan with some scary voice over the top of her in Area 61, where there is an entity that doesn’t seem to like people very much.
