Looks like lens flare. There appears to be something that was blocking part of the flash, which is what appears to be cause the lavender washout on the right side of the picture. The light reflecting off of that obstruction is reflecting light into the lens at an angle and causing the lens flare.
You can see the same effect on the second photo, except it’s on the opposite side. Also, if you notice in the second photo, the flare is almost mirror of this one. That would tend to further suggest it is flare from the object obstructing the flash.
Nice call, Dream. Again, we don’t know if the camera was digital and if it is, that could create all sorts of fun stuff. Take a look at the whatzit on the left, inside the circle, the image of the grass is distorted, like it was smeared. What caused that? Also, shooting right into a MH outside lamp that’s probably at least a 1000W is not going to give you a clean shot. Look at all the smokey effect across the picture. And it was probably a clear night.
Again, since I can’t see a focus object in the shot, I have to wonder what the photographer was taking a picture of? If its that silver thing inside the second circle, why didn’t the camera person get up closer to it before taking a shot? Again, could the smokey little images be night bugs? Cigarette butts on the ground? If this was my shot, I’d have to give it a pass. Good try, though. Who knows, maybe it is something.

Keep on huntin’,

Mysteria,
With both this and the other Sorrel shot, the black in the foreground looks as though it’s being shot through a wrought iron gate. Was it?
