Figure?

This one is a tough one. Image quality – probably not good enough to tell, and yet interesting. Matrixing? Likely. Let’s see what you think.

As I was walking down the snow shed, I felt like something was following us – about 50 yards back, but I knew it was there. I could hear footsteps. I had Tanner take a picture behind me. This is the picture – full sized and blown up.

What do you think? I think it is just too foggy to be able to tell.

Check out this audio from Wellington.

Here is another picture of the area, sans figure (at Cheryl’s request):

Daylight shot - same corridor.

Here is the area – taken from both pictures and placed side by side for the purpose of determining matrixing. The circled area on the left shows what may be causing the matrix. What do you think? These two pictures were taken in immediate succession, by the way.

side by side comparison. What do you think? Is it matrixing?

I can make out a form Karen. Do you have a daylight, closeyp photo of the area where the form is for comparison to rule out matrixing?

Neither matrixing nor apophenia. There doesn’t seem to be anything there but wishful thinking. Just my opinion.

    Hi,
I’m not quite sure what GB is saying, if its not matrixing and its not a case of apophenia, then its NOTHING? I’m confused. So, its nothing at all? That blot that is obviously there is not matrixing. That blot that is obviously there is not apophenia (making something out of nothing, basically, according to Konrad). So that blot that is obviously there is nothing? Maybe I’m just not connecting GB’s dots here and I don’t mean to take issue, but that “nothing” blot is something, especially if its not matrixing and not apophenia.

Sorry GB, just my opinion, too

If my eyes are playing tricks on me other people see it, too, including the photographer, who, btw explains why the camera is aimed in that direction. She heard something following her, turned and took the picture back the way she came. Whatever it is or isn’t, it registers. There it is. If it wasn’t, then it would be, there it isn’t.

I’ve spent thirty years debunking ALL my own photographs and almost every photograph anyone sticks under my nose. The Amazing Randi’s got nuthin’ on me. I don’t buy anything. Because almost everything I’ve seen has some sort of explanation to it. I’ve got ONE that I can’t explain. And Karen has another one I can’t explain. Taking everything that Karen has said about her investigation and subsequent return visits to this tragic site, she’s got something. She didn’t go tramping around slinging ghost busting equipment wearing baseball caps and t-shirts silk screened with a group name on them. She didn’t ask for what she found. It found her. It was drawn to her. And she knew it was there. I have to think, at least at this point, she captured it in a picture. I think this is a picture of what she found…or perhaps, what found her. Let’s let her roll it out to its conclusion. This is a gift to Karen Frazier. This one belongs to her. Keep us informed, Karen. We’ll reserve judgment until you make the first call. Good luck. We’re with you.

    Hi Karen,

I have a question about the snow shed. Is it perfectly straight or does it curve around the mountain?

To me it seems that the snow shed curves to the left at the far end of the shot. The color variations on the right-hand columns as they curve into the center may be creating a pattern that looks like a human figure.

    Hi Grae:

Good to see you here. The snow shed does curve and it does play tricks on your eyes. Not only that, but there are multiple variegations of color on the walls of the snow shed and on the poles. Just walking through watching the play of the light you see a number of “faces.” Just last week, I saw the “Virgin Mary” in a certain spot on the snow shed wall.

The thing that I find interesting about this “figure” is that it is illuminated in one picture and in pictures taken immediately before and after, there is no such illumination. But yep – definite curve – you can’t see one end of the snow shed from another.

    Thanks for stopping in!

    Karen
