Cheryl and I have been diligently trying to recreate Boppy under the same conditions, since we figure that if anyone said it, it was Cheryl. We’ve been recording exactly as we do for the podcast and saying all of the things that it could possibly have said. Here are some things we’ve tried:

Bobby
Poppy
Boppy
Sorry
Bye (stretched out into two syllables)

I looked at the wav forms of each, and not only do they not sound like the original “Boppy” – but they also don’t LOOK like it. What does this mean? Who KNOWS???? If anyone has any ideas, we’d love to hear them.

Here’s the recreation:

I can post a side by side comparison of the wav forms if someone feels they need to see them. They don’t line up.

Sorry about the background noise – I have a teenager who was on the phone, on the computer and watching TV all at the same time. When we recorded the podcast, I was all alone….no background noise.

Honestly – this is pretty mystifying to me.

Listen to more EVPs and tell us what you think.

After Karen and I recreated Boppy last night on Skype, I’m convinced it wasn’t me that said Boppy. It does not sound like anyone else (Karen, Chad, JD, Teresa, or Shannon) conducting the podcast either. Audio glitch? Maybe. EVP? Possibly.

    Let’s continue the discussion!

Yeah – I don’t know. It’s a tough one, that’s for sure. I slept on it and woke no more enlightened than I was yesterday.

It sounds more like it is saying “Poppy” which is spanish or italian for daddy. The voice does not sound female but male. The voice sounds male using a falsetto or higher pitched voice than ones normal speaking voice.

I agree Tracey – I think it sounds like a male speaking in falsetto, as well. That kind of makes it weirder. I still wonder if maybe it is a skype anomaly.
