Dutch West Indies Trading Co. EVP

Paranormal Underground

Investigation at this site was very problematic. Surf breaking, crickets and intermittent road noise are clear on the audio file.

The only EVP came at 6 min. 14 sec into the recording. A female voice that seems to say ” on the outside.”  Samuel , my oldest son, and myself were actually outside when this was captured. The same EVP was also captured on the Sony Nightshot that was positioned on the other side of the room though the sound from the Sony was fainter. The file is 11 min. plus long with the EVP at the 6:14 mark. Listen and tell me what you think?

I also included two pictures of the interior so everyone can get an idea of the size of the building.

Please be advised that the audio can cause drowsiness with the sound of the ocean breaking on the shore and the background of crickets.    JK and SK

More EVPs? How about Karen’s EVPs from Tokeland Hotel and Meeker Mansion, Carolyn’s EVP from Gettysburg, or Jake Wheat’s totally creepy EVP from Waverly Hills

Jon: Can you shorten the clip at all? I think I found where you are talking about, but the player doesn’t list time….

I did hear it at 6:14, but it was hard to make out exactly what I was hearing. It did sound like a voice though! Thanks for posting this. And it sounds lovely there by the ocean.

Did you have any personal experiences while you were there?

No personal experiences while we were there. The Audacity program I down loaded is a learning process. I will try to pull just that section out of the WMA file. The temperature at night here right now is usually in the high 80′s. With better IR illumination and a later investigation time at low tide I believe the next investigation should be better with clearer audio.

Certainly worth more investigation it sounds like, Jon!

I did hear something, but not exactly sure what I’m hearing.
Has anyone investigated the Trading Co. before that your aware of?
    What’s the history like?

    SFTD,
No the building has never been investigated before that I am aware of.
The history starts in the late 1600′s and it’s violent. Slaves, Pirates, Arms traders and pretty much anything for a profit. The history of this island is pretty impressive. It was and still is known as the “The Golden Rock.” The building is being renovated into a gift shop by the owners. A very nice family I might add. I asked for permission to
investigate the building before the renovations are completed and business resumes at this site. I hope the next investigation will yield even more results and maybe a personal experience.

    Hi Jon,

The theroy about activity being stirred up when renovating, may lead to more results. Sounds like a great place to investigate.
Looking forward to your findings, enjoy!

    Symp,
That is one of the reasons that I moved the investigation of this site ahead of the Olde Gin House. As it appears now ,though, we will have to investigate the OGH this Monday night or lose a window with few tourists on-site. I took the preliminary pictures of the OGH earlier today and my oldest son was scouting best locations for our equipment. The OGH promises to be a great site as it is the only place on the island where I have had a personal experience.

    Hey Jon:

I just fixed your clipped EVP. Interesting. I can’t make out what it is saying – it sounds almost like a whale song!
