        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>A variation of the inscription also appears in a fresco of the Trinity at Santa Maria Novella in Florence, Italy. The fresco was painted by Italian Renaissance artist Masaccio and is dated approximately 1425-28. Here&#39;s the image: </p>
<p>	<a href="javascript:void(null)" class="vtip" title="Click image to enlarge" onclick="spjPopupImage('http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r99/Bronzino_2007/Masaccio_Trinity_1425-28.jpg', '356', '720', '1');" ><img src="http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r99/Bronzino_2007/Masaccio_Trinity_1425-28.jpg" width="100"  class="sfimageleft" alt="" /><img src="http://www.paranormalunderground.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/css-only-paranormal/images/sp_Mouse.png" class="sfimageleft sfmouseleft" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>	In the bottom portion of the fresco, just above the skeleton is a Latin inscription that essentially translates to &#34;I was what you are and what I am you shall be.&#34; (Unfortunately, the skeleton has lost his skull due to deterioration.) Just as with the cemetery inscriptions, it&#39;s meant to remind us of our mortality.</p>

        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="color: #0000FF;"><span style="font-size: 13px;">WOW&#33; Talk about deja&#39;vu&#33; I actually did a study on this in Ohio in 2000. There was a small cemetary with an 18 year old girl who was buried there. The local kid&#39;s used to hang out there claiming that there was a &#34;curse&#34; on the grave, and the girl was tried as a witch and executed. As I delved into the epitath, I found that the saying was popular among Quaker youths of the period, and the epitath was penned by a popular Quaker poet of the time. This epitath appears throughout the east and north east on tombstones related to the Quaker and Puritain periods, but instances of the saying have been reported sporadically throughout the United States. By the way, my research also showed that the young lady buried under the tombstone died from an outbreak of yellow fever (quite common in those days), was a Quaker, and WAS NOT executed as a witch. I love urban legends..... </span><img class="sfimageleft" />/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<img class="spSmiley" src="http://www.paranormalunderground.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif" title="Laugh" alt="Laugh" />' /> </span></p>

        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>I just think it&#39;s an old saying that isn&#39;t used any more so no one knows what it means, they just read into it what they want it to say.</p>
<p>	One of the local cemeteries that we investigate in has a story of a witch buried there and the tombstone can be found by finding the one with the misspelled name. Problem is this area has a lot of names that are odd so it&#39;s hard to find. Plus most are weathered badly and hard to read any part of them.</p>
<p>	Pretty cool though, thanks for the pictures.</p>

        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-size: 12px;"><strong><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">We don&#39;t investigate cemeteries as a rule. However, this urban legend is supposedly well known and supposedly taken the lives of people who have read it. Sort of like the Bloody Mary thing... So we thought it was at least worth a look and to post it here for those who do like cemeteries.</span></strong></span></p>
<p>	The story goes that a young girl was killed then burried in an old cemetery in western Pennsylvania and a curse was engraved on the headstone. It is said that if you read the inscription you will die in the same way as the girl. </p>
<p>	Well we found it&#33; The cemetery, headsotne and inscription do exist. However, it is not of a young girl. She was 69 and died in 1930. </p>
<p>	<a href="javascript:void(null)" class="vtip" title="Click image to enlarge" onclick="spjPopupImage('http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/GhostBreakers/Picture20240.jpg', '1024', '768', '1');" ><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/GhostBreakers/Picture20240.jpg" width="100"  class="sfimageleft" alt="" /><img src="http://www.paranormalunderground.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/css-only-paranormal/images/sp_Mouse.png" class="sfimageleft sfmouseleft" alt="" /></a><a href="javascript:void(null)" class="vtip" title="Click image to enlarge" onclick="spjPopupImage('http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/GhostBreakers/LynchEpitaph.jpg', '853', '346', '1');" ><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/GhostBreakers/LynchEpitaph.jpg" width="100"  class="sfimageleft" alt="" /><img src="http://www.paranormalunderground.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/css-only-paranormal/images/sp_Mouse.png" class="sfimageleft sfmouseleft" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>	It says:
</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">Remember Youth as you go by</p>
<p> as you ere now so once was I</p>
<p> as I am now so you shall be</p>
<p> prepare for Death and follow me</p>
<p>
	Further investigation revealed that the inscription turns out to be a popular one and in many cemeteries around the country during that time period. Though they are all not the exact same but they send the same message. A noted one in the Carolina&#39;s is of a young girl and has a similar inscription but with an answer...</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><span style="font-size: 13px;">Effie Jean Robinson</span></p>
<p>	1897-1922</p>
<p>	Come blooming youths, as you pass by ,</p>
<p>	And on these lines do cast an eye.</p>
<p>	As you are now, so once was I;</p>
<p>	As I am now, so must you be;</p>
<p>	Prepare for death and follow me.</p>
<p>	someone had added:</p>
<p>	To follow you </p>
<p>	I am not content,</p>
<p>	How do I know </p>
<p>	Which way you went.</p>
</p>
<p>	You will notice on the stone above it says &#34;as you Ere now&#34; instead of &#34;as you Are now&#34;. </p>
<p>	<a href="javascript:void(null)" class="vtip" title="Click image to enlarge" onclick="spjPopupImage('http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/GhostBreakers/LynchEpitaph4.jpg', '334', '154', '1');" ><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/GhostBreakers/LynchEpitaph4.jpg" width="100"  class="sfimageleft" alt="" /><img src="http://www.paranormalunderground.net/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/css-only-paranormal/images/sp_Mouse.png" class="sfimageleft sfmouseleft" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>	No way of knowing if that was intentional or not but, if intentional, Ere could mean, early, soon or before. Maybe meaning they thought they went too early? </p>
<p>	OR...</p>
<p>	Maybe that is the curse? Maybe they inserted that intentionally. Meaning the reader would DIE soon? </p>
