Well...i can`t really see anything very clear in the video...to me she could just be holding her hat down to cover herself because of the sun and talking to herself to remind her of something...i do that sometimes with shopping lists. Then again if she really was a time traveller she could just have the future generation of "cell phone" or something like a walkie talkie, but then again if future technology becomes so awesome there may be tons of invisible time travelers around us as well.

The "Jump to Conclusions" mat from Office Space comes to mind every time I read a story like this lol.

I thought so, also. Sort of chuckled at the idea of a cell phone being used.

Tesla, did have the means to communicate in a fashion as a cell phone. I wouldn't rule him out, he was a huge Chaplin fan.

Are they planning on doing some Chaplin movie? Or reissue of DVDs or something they need pre-publicity for to drum up interest?

Or maybe the person who "found" it is writing a book or a blog. Or some other money makking venture.

Well if it is a cell phone of a time traveller would they still use a 'bulky' cell phone if they can travel through time? It would make me say yes if there was a blue tooth on 'her' ear then a cell phone in her hand.

Everyone is calling it a cell phone, but failing to use the slightest bit of logic. Any form of communication was in it's most rudimentary form back then, and there certainly was not any infrastructure that could even be modified to cell usage at the time. Simple logic. Unless phone carriers have a temporal package, then it's obviously not a cell phone...or perhaps...

perhaps we didn't hear about AT&T's new "more bars in more places...and space time continuums" plan with free time travel add on? Temporal roaming fees and paradox insurance may apply...

Well Im not convinced its a cell phone, I have to think. If the civilization is so advanced they can travel back in time, surely they can communicate through time as well. Maybe (if somehow it is a time traveler which is purely speculation on everyones part at this point) its not a cell phone as we know it and is more advanced. People may merely be calling it a cellphone because thats all they can relate it too. Imagine if your from the twenties and see a laptop, what would you really call it? Not a laptop surely.

They also said on the news that they speculate it's a "hearing aid device"
