‘High as a kite’ wallabies blamed for crop circles.

It isn't the Wallabies. They were framed by the Koalas.

Though I can tell you a natural explanation is unsatisfying to many.

Actually, I think a natural explanation would be preferred by many.

Well now, I would suggest wish-thinking is far more prevalent. From what I've seen.

Someone was going to say it, might as well be me.

But it was the government that told the farmers to plant the poppies there in the first place. Then the government hired some ranchers to herd the wallabies nearby. Once they ate all their food, they had to go looking for more. The poppy field was too tempting to them so they ate the poppies. It was all the government's fault this happened. It was a conspiracy.

I guess it depends on your definition of wish-thinking.

Indeed. No doubt.

My take is the hundreds of hoaxers who have revealed how they manufactured the things.

So are you saying that you believe that hoaxers are responsible for all crop circles around the world?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Unless one provides more convicing evidence beyond that. Would adjust my view based on that evidence, and it would need to be robust. With coherence and all the rest. Blah, blah, blah. You know me Mystical.

OK, I really didn't think that was what you were saying.

It just doesn't seem likely to me that every single crop circle around the world is made by hoaxers.

If you can offer evidence that they were not, I'm eager to listen.

Just as I don't have evidence of my opinion that humans are not responsible for every crop circle ever made, you also don't have evidence for your opinion that every crop circle ever made was by a human.

Right?

I am not making an extraordinary claim, but asking for evidence for one. Feel me?

I have to mostly side with Dawkins on this one – don't faint Dawk /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I could be persuaded to believe that the plain circles COULD be the result of some yet unknown natural force.

But all those intricate designs, no way. Made by hoaxers of the human kind, no other explanation makes sense.
