well ratz! i guess i'd better be letting robson green out of the back room now: i've been feeding him real well so he'd have the strength for some good fun on 12/24/12. probably ought to free him up now and spend the time they are busy selecting the next Day of Doom on deciding whom i now wish to party with those last few minutes…

best,

annie

Here the old quote applies very well:

History teaches us that mankind learns nothing from history.

How many times was the world suppose to end in the 1900's???? – (go check it out) -> A LOT! (Over 200 different times and reasons why.)

Then when 2000 A.D. came – well it was suppose to 'end as we know it' with the Y2K scare and how the power grid was going to crash – Bank records were going to vanish – Nuclear plants were suppose to blow up – by shutting down with the proper "cool down" – Planes were suppose to drop from the sky and on-and-on. (None of which even sorta-kinda-maybe even came close to happening.)

Then we had 2002 PLANET-X / Niburu was suppose to come in MAY! (According to ET's.) … oops, their calculations were off … it was JULY …. Oops they still got it wrong!(How on earth did those ET make it out of their own solar system with this kind of math???????

Then 2003 or 4 don't remember – we had a "Planetary alignment" that was suppose to wreck havoc on our planet with earthquakes and such. Nope.

Then in 2006 – SAVE LIVES IN MAY – some 'psychic' was telling us that the USA Eastern Coastline was going to be flooded by a fragment of a comet splashing in the Atlantic Ocean. Did not happen and then he had to spin -- "it did happen, prayer saved us…" – then it changed to "it did happen, ET saved us!"

Now 2012 with Planet X – Niburu and Mayan Calendar and galatic alignment, Jupiter Effect and ….. all based on some pretty weak science and logic.

What will happen 12-24-2012??? …> Christmas eve and the coming of Christmas! Good cheer and likely a "few" people that wished they had not posted the "doom & gloom" on the internet so that it will haunt them for years and years to come …. (once on the internet -- always on the internet.)

We were living overseas during the Y2K thing and so we were 6 hours ahead of my family in MA. Right after the clock struck midnight for us in Germany, my Mum called from MA and asked in her sweet, little voice: "did the world come to an end?". /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

IM pretty sure people are gonna freak out just like in Y2K but they mayan calender actually didn't end on that date, they had another calender that went on to 2300 or sumin i think. But thats if the person is basing their fears off of the idea of the calender ending… I mean maybe they just got tired of writing the **** thing =)

The problem with this all now is this:

We've had Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Floods, Tsunamies, Volcanoes and such all happen, but when even one of these happen in 2012, even in what is normal any other year … will cause panic all because of the HYPE of 2012.

I'm actually concerned that people will be injured, hurt and even killed … not because of THE END OF THE WORLD – but because people will over react and panic to such a degree that … well …..

Unfounded panic will cause more damage then the any other wise normal event would be treated with the normal – "get through this" attitude and move on.

The 2012 Hype is going to cause a lot of people to go "hyper" and be overly 'psyched out' to their own harm, or they will harm others.

I thought it was supposed to be 12/21/12. Anyway, the Mayans seemed to think it would just be the end of one era and the beginning of a new one. I'm not entirely sure I recall the research on what the change involves but it was not cataclysmic as far as I can remember. Just the rebirth of a cycle. Even though birth can be extremely painful.

Others have speculated that the poles will shift because of a cosmic alignment. Still others say the end of the world or judgement day.

I tend to agree with the Mayans. If you look at the record, they were pretty accurate with the cycles and corresponding events, as far as I can remember anyway. Or maybe I'm just being fooled by good television writing.

I'm hoping for the polar shift though. Ohio (my state) having beach front property and an equatorial climate would kick serious butt. I could ride my motorcycle year round without looking like the Michelin Man.

Regardless, I'll be stocked up with food, gas(if there still is any), water and ammo just in case. If it does hit the fan, I won't go down without a fight.

A friend of mine recently visited the Mayan ruins. The guide told them that the Mayans didnt predict the end of the Earth, just that the moon, stars, and planets will be just as they were when they started the calendar. So everything starts over again. does that mean everything falls and we go back to cave men? Not with the technology and such that we have these days. Sure things are pretty strange these days, the weather, the mindset of certain individuals, and the birds falling from the sky, (that really bugs me), but actually the whole thing is just about this temple they built and how when the day comes, they will be able to see something in the temple theyve never seen before. Apparently it only happens every 2012 years. Anyway, thats what i got out of her description. Im sure there is info on it somewhere, but it made me feel good to hear the story. There was more to it of course, but thats the gist.

I have decided that I will NOT be one of those that has stockpiled water, canned food and firearms. I hope I go in the big flash, instant disintegration. I have no desire to fight for survival in a world that is dangerous and panicked. I'll be happy to move on to the next chapter and leave the earthly possessions here to be fought over by Mad Max. Have at it, Mr. Militia and your minions!

If the end involves nuclear stuff, then I'm with you. I will be heading straight into NYC as soon as I see the mushroom cloud. Who wants to die a slow death from radiation poisoning? Ick.

On the other hand, if it's just generalized societal break-down due to the loss of technology because of solar flares or an EMP attack, or a series of geological/weather disasters, my husband and I will gather our families together and stand our ground on top of this mountain. As long as we have sufficient provisions and the means of defending them, we will survive. Just call me Ms. Militia! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Planets will align, that's a given. What that means to the earth…who knows. Look at how many places have major flooding. Seems like more earthquakes are taking place. Earth is indeed shifting. It may mean nothing. Perhaps this earth is getting too populated and Mother Nature is shaking off a few of us to lighten the load. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Even in Biblical times some of the disciples were standing around waiting for the end of the Earth. They were sure the signs were all there /dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> Shows you how much they knew.
