In light of the 2012 podcast we just posted, I thought I'd ask all of you the same questions I asked Cheryl, Chad and JD.

What do you think will happen on 12/24/2012? Why do you think that?

If you knew for an absolute fact that the world was indeed going to end on that date, would it change how you lived your life? In what ways?

What do you think will happen on 12/24/2012? Why do you think that?

I think it'll be another cold day in December, just like every other 12/24. I think this because I have not conclusively seen any evidence to the contrary.

If you knew for an absolute fact that the world was indeed going to end on that date, would it change how you lived your life? In what ways?

Frankly, probably not. If the world's ending, there's nothing I can do to change it. And if I know NOW that the world is ending in a few YEARS, well, bills still have to be paid, don't they? So I'm still going to work, and my kid is still going to school. Day to day life would not change all the much, in terms of the right now. In the days leading up to the end? Well, I may be a tad more reckless in what I say to people, but I wouldn't be going crazy and murdering anyone. What would be the point?

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

I think I'll be doing my usual Christmas Eve rituals /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I dont think I would change how I lived. I already live a good life.

I'm good to people and do the best I can in life. I guess maybe I

would try to squeeze in doing those things I've always wanted to

do before time ran out. And I dont need to save for retirement

now, so I could use that money /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I think nothing different than any other Christmas Eve. Family, food, the usual.

If you knew for an absolute fact that the world was indeed going to end on that date, would it change how you lived your life? In what ways?

No. I made mistakes, did well, was happy, and sad. It would probably be the same, I'm not perfect, but I just try to be a good person. So, I would see me making mistakes again, I'm human.

I hope the general world tone at this time, isn't down. People getting crazy, or suicides, etc.

The world has enough problems, and I hope the media, doesn't make things worse.

I would not change a thing as I have done more things than most people will ever do. I do not think anything huge will happen as there have always been doomsday predictions and those have passed like any other day. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I might be lying, but I'm telling the truth

The 24th of 2012 will find me and my oldest son cutting across the Saba Bank to St. Marteen

for Christmas in Simpson Bay. I feel the same way as most. End time naysayers have come

and gone and not one of them have gotten it right yet. " No man knows his hour!"

As for the "if I knew" question. It's been a great run why spoil it with a defeatist attitude.

If I knew I'd think about the above saying and realize that I probably didn't really know

and then it would still come as a complete suprise. Denial it's not just an attitude or a river

in Egypt. Sometimes, just sometimes, I think it can be very handy when facing overwhelming

odds and certain defeat. Sorta the whole Don Quixote thing happening there.

1. I'm not afraid to die. I'm all about seeing my good friends and family members who have already passed on again!!

2. We'll continue as normal. Whatever happens, happens… At least if the world ends on that date, my family will be all together, my parents, my husband, my sister, some of my distant family. We'll all go down as one!

:: takes a deep breath… knowing what she's about to say isn't widely accepted ::..

I don't believe the world is going to end; however drastically change. I have seen the future, as other psychics have as well. I see a downfall of our society, much like Rome. I see us being led back to our roots, saving the land so we can live off the land. I've seen glimpses and the best I can compare it to is Stephen King's "The Stand". Do I think it's the end o fthe world, no.. .but I do ask that people prepare.

Agreed…and personally, I think this downfall has already started.

I should have said before, I don't think the world is going to im- or explode on 12/24/2010, but I do think throughout the year, sooner or later, the downfall changes will take place as they ahve already started.

I agree. I *know* it's already started. I was called crazy when Obama was elected to run for presidency. Not because of who he is, but because of what he stood for. So many people were blinded by his message(s), but they haven't seen what I have. I said then that it was the start of major change in our society, and not for the better. I wrote a blog about health care, a virus, and desolation that was going to hit us. I was told my statements were off the cuff, and beyond the pail (whatever that means).

Just look at Washington State alone with the cop killings as of late.

Rise of child rape / killings

Rise of robberies, home invasions, etc.

The jacked up weather and the atmosphere around the world is also a great tell-tale sign.

i am not psychic, but i know we have ravaged the earth and due to communication advances we now know the horrendous things humans do to each other 24/7. i don't know as we're any worse than in centuries past or we just know it instantaneously now.

JMHO here, but i do not see where the attempt to provide health care to all our citizens amounts to the downfall of our nation or the world. i'd rather have that for the agenda than lies about WMD. could you provide a link to your blog, regan? i looked for it but was unable to locate it. i am very interested in reading where you are coming from.

there have been end of the world predictions since the world began, i imagine. someday one will be right just because of the odds of coincidence i am guessing. IF this one for 2012 were to be proven true, i can't think of what i would change except i might for once in my life act irresponsibly and NOT pay some bills and as heidi said NOT worry about the future income and spend recklessly for a change.

i already treasure those i love so i don't need a reminder of armagedon to do so. i already try to be the best person i can be, failing along the way but trying nonetheless. i do not intend to live forever anyway, so my only real concern would be that those i love would meet their end with as little pain/fear as possible.

but i too hope the media doesn't hype it to the point where fearful, vulnerable, easily lead people aren't consumed with the idea of it happening to the point where they MAKE the alleged prophecy come true if only for themselves.

best,

annie

I am not one to questions what you have seen or your abilities, if you believe it to be true, then it matters not what I say about it.

But I do ask this: Isn't this a running theme throughout history. Civilizations being run down the built back up again? The world is riddled with the downfalls of societies. It's not that far of a leap to say that it could happen again, just on a larger scale. Life as we know it is constantly evolving, therefore, our downfalls would be evolving too.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

As far as the cop killings, rapes, etc….that stuff has been going on since man first evolved on this planet. Take a look at just our relative recent history with Mr Hitler and his 6 million deaths. The United States dropping "the bomb" wiping out 2 cities. John Gacy, Ted Bundy, Charles Manson. The list goes on and on and on, and that's JUST in the last 70 years. To say we have a recent trend of violence may be a bit of a stretch. We're always changing as a human society. It may be the only absolute of the human condition. The evolution of humans is a moving picture, and the movie started long before we were born, and will continue long after everyone on this forums unborn great great great grandchildren are dead. Our lives are a mere snapshot in this movie. It's the evolution of humans. You can debate how we as humans will evolve and what might or might not happen on December 20, 2012, but the show will go on.

No need to be reluctant. No one is necessarily refuting what you say, just asking questions about it and seeking answers.

The X-Files had it right about one thing for sure: Question Everything. I take this literally, even with myself. I am the proverbial kid, always asking, "Why?"

Sorry if the questions offended.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

i don't know why the reluctance, regan. i didn't see anything negative about what you wrote. discussion in an honest, open format can only be a good thing, imho. i would very much like to read your blog as i like to know where people are coming from; i looked but couldn't locate it. do you have a link?

I thought it was supposed to be 12/21/12. Anyway, the Mayans seemed to think it would just be the end of one era and the beginning of a new one. I'm not entirely sure I recall the research on what the change involves but it was not cataclysmic as far as I can remember. Just the rebirth of a cycle. Even though birth can be extremely painful.

Others have speculated that the poles will shift because of a cosmic alignment. Still others say the end of the world or judgement day.

I tend to agree with the Mayans. If you look at the record, they were pretty accurate with the cycles and corresponding events, as far as I can remember anyway. Or maybe I'm just being fooled by good television writing.

I'm hoping for the polar shift though. Ohio (my state) having beach front property and an equatorial climate would kick serious butt. I could ride my motorcycle year round without looking like the Michelin Man.

Regardless, I'll be stocked up with food, gas(if there still is any), water and ammo just in case. If it does hit the fan, I won't go down without a fight.
