The Bible -
These were symbols of God's protection – they were a part of Visions – and they are used as "icons" or 'symbology' of the spiritual.
Even the Ancient Egyptians believed the Sun was a "God" .. and the the rulers were seen as decedents of the God's …. we have symbols of them being 'whisked' away to the Gods ..
But 21st Century Bias .. there is one ancient Egyptian symbol that is similar to the Star Wars M. Falcon. Are we really going to suggest that G.L. got his design from Ancient Egyptian Glyphs? (He would tell you flat out, "NO!") But we see the M.F. because of our Bias … take the Bias out (Star Wars never created, let's say, I know, I know – STONE JJ, for suggesting such a thing!! But let's imagine for 30 seconds, I don't want to be stoned .. that it was never created, We would NOT see the M.F. we would not see a space ship .. it would simply be an UNKNOWN glyph .. (which it still is … )
There was/is a lot of spiritual symbology in a lot of the ancient art ….
They are in the very since of the word – UFO.
Here again is the problem .. The minute one say, "ALIEN" or "ET" or such .. the burden of proof has fallen on them.
Arguments like:
Well what else could it be?
I 'believe' … (well other's believer other wise.) Belief does not even semi-sort-kinda-maybe make it so. This is a matter of FAITH then .. and thus .. it has become a 'religion' in a since.
Well it looks like – (21st Century) "Ship" … <- Bias .. again, one would have the burden of proof to supply, well proof.
See this is the problem – We don't want to have to prove it! We just want to 'believe' …
Okay, fine. But it's then become just that -- a matter of FAITH .. not FACT.
We have actually made – PROOF – FACTS and such … "Four Letter Words" .. (with some, not all.)
Not a good foundation … is it?

I live not to far from from the area of the Hudson Valley UFO sightings of the late 70's/ 80's era. I haven't heard to much about anymore sightings since. I actually boaught the book Night Siege by Allen Hynek, Philip Imbrogno and Bob Pratt. I trudged through part of the book then put it aside. I am going to have to try and start again to read it through sooner or later. There is alot about Triangular UFO's in it.
On a side note I did think at the time…must have been 1983 to 85 or so that I thought I saw a UFO flying over the Bronx, NY. It was a large cigar shaped object with multi-colored light rotating on the side. Upon closer look it was nothing more then a blimp. The next days paper in Westchester County reported numerous UFO sightings. Hence the blimp.

This thread seemed as good a place as any to post these. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers but AM trying to raise awareness that there are funky looking aircraft out there. Naturally this will not explain all of the stuff people are seeing out there but it may shed some light on a much debated topic.

I agree that there are lots of weird aircraft out there, some of which are still top secret. But does that explain everything that people are seeing? Hmmm…

Totally agree – on all points.
Then you take some of the funky 'shapes' and attach them to a R/C device like those kid's chopper toys that can zip, zag and turn a corner like it was nothing or reverse like nothing. If they made a toy that can do this for a few dollars … imagine what "toys" they can do with a few Million or Billion dollars!
The other thing is – they do not always put an isignia on them or ID on them. That would be .. well kind of stupid … if it's a Spy Craft with (MADE IN THE USA) on it. So much for SPYING … /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

But then there will be people who will say that these aircraft were developed by reverse engineering and not by our own intellegence. No matter waht there will be people who will say everything is UFO related. Unless a saucer lands infront of me and a pointed eared person comes out and says live long and prosper I will not be a true believer. /cool.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Well I think you are part of the non-believers of the doctrine – "Man is to stupid to create and invent and built without ET hand holding." How could you not be a 'believer'??? /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

IN GENERAL – (Non specific to you.)
In other forums I had post that we got Kevlar – Fiber Optic and various other technology from Roswell. Then I showed them the history of those and a few others that they was sure they came from Roswell.
He realized with such documentation of the history – well, so much for Roswell.
* We have Kevlar the concept and evolution going back 3,000+ years before Roswell.
* We have Fiber Optics evolution going back 100+ years before Roswell.
The other items this guy pointed out were anywhere between 70+/- years to 100's +/- to 1,000 +/- years before Roswell. There was only one that was 10 years after Roswell – but the guy that invented this item has very clear and verifiable records (trial and error) samples and such of how he did his 'thing'.
NatGeo has a very well documentry showing how the Eqyptians built the Pyramids … even showing the failed ones … where the builders lived, how they were fed and treated, how they got the stones there. (Funny thing, no mention of ET's.)
One of the things that people forget with the Pyramids are the Palaces and Religious Temples of the day. These were not small and "one room, on level buildings". They were "master pieces"… their kings lived here and their gods were worshiped here. They were also Master Recyclers of their building materials.
Why some so easily need (?) or whatever, to underestimate and down play the human capacity to imagine, build. Yes it takes hard work, long nights, trial and error … but we are not stupid.
The final thing – if ET is such a "Hand Holder" – why the secret? I mean, if they've supposedly been here since early Egyptian – why the "cloaking" and "hid and seek" ….????
Obviously the doctrine of some sort of "non-interferance" has, if the stories are true … been long sense violated.
So that holds no credibility.
If it's true they are technologically advanced .. they have nothing to fear of us.
Their technological advancement would be clearly seen as far back as ancient Egypt.
One would think they would continue to advance their technology forward and if they were watching us .. they would have "counter checkmate moves" centuries ahead of us.
Then I think as you stated in one of your other posts (??) OR it was someone else….??

I just remembered the Brady Bunch episode when they pretended there was a UFO outside…I think one the the kids was blowing into a gazoo to make the UFO sound…haa classic TV…

I DON'T want to believe, but I do anyway. Too much evidence and too many sightings not to believe, as far as I'm concerned. I myself once watched lights moving in the skies in ways that no known craft could do. While I really wish that I could believe that it's our own military testing all these unknown crafts all over the world, I can't.
The way I see it, there are two options: 1) either every single person who has had an encounter with an "unidentified flying object" is either lying or mistaken, or 2) our government is lying to us. I know which one I find more likely.
I have the opposite opinion…….
I have not seen, or heard of, any evidence that would convince me to believe……
I do think both of your options are correct 1) They are lying or mistaken and 2) the Gov't does lie to maintain the secrecy of some projects……..

I think Area 51 is only what it appears to be…a top secret military test site. There are no aliens there…its all a game of misdirection…the aliens are all at another site.
