Why did it start in the 80's? was there any event or anything out of the ordinary happen? It seems strange for that type of activity to just start up usually things have always been happening as long as anyone can remember in cases like this /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I think it's similar to paranormal activity, in that things can seem dormant, inactive, or rationalized away until someone opens up to it. For many people, Linda Bradshaw was an intuitive and therefore blamed/credited for inviting it all. Who knows, really. Maybe it has something to do with the military operations in the canyons outside the ranch. Maybe it had something to do with her friendship with Tom Dongo. After all, it's been said that "Like Attracts Like", and their partnership blossomed to really ratchet things up at the ranch.

I know, I know... But I assure you, none of the photos I've been posting are 'creations' of Photoshop or any other program, and this is the god's honest truth. Rather than reject something new or different as an "obvious" fake, we should open to new possibilities. I was raised to accept anything and everything as being possible. Others had to convince me that it couldn't be possible. This seems so counter to the paradigm of today, where everyone doubts authenticity unless it can be proven. This is nearly impossible unless the skeptic has an equivalent experience of their own and one that's inline with their beliefs.

We don't know anyone who's been able to explain this stuff. Even Linda Bradshaw had difficulty comprehending the activities at her ranch. Regardless of anyone's interpretation, however believable or not, the pictures and encounters at the ranch since the 1980's are simply mind-blowing! Probably the best we can do to answer the "why" this happens, is that those who go to the ranch and have these experiences seem to "invite" it. For instance, Paranormal Investigators from Phoenix came to document ranch activity and hoped something would happen so they could share it with their readers. It's our experience that this happens more often than not.

Like BR says these events are so far beyond what people believe that anything paranormal encompasses that they seem like they can't be really happening. You need to read Merging Dimensions and Skinwalker Ranch. These 2 locations are hundreds of miles apart but have had events occur there that are somewhat similar. All I have to go on is people's accounts and we are talking about scientific people included. I understand people not wanting to believe, these are not just tiny little orbs seemingly floating about but events that just preclude what most people think of when speaking of paranormal events. I mean giant wolves that seem bullet proof? Yea right. I am not trying to make anyone believe these stories but the accounts are just too numerous to be dismissed as misidentification or someone's fool hardy tale. Hey, even if you don't believe them to be real they make some great science fiction. I will leave it at that. /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Our web-guy helped us create a 570x300 template to crop photos before we post images on the blog. Otherwise, the large sizes totally blow out the posts. Prior to this, on some photos we use Picasa to import/resize to 1024. Other than this, we have no idea how to manipulate photos in Photoshop.

Orbs? To each their own, right? Personally, I believe 99% of them are dust, pollen, moisture, etc. The one below is an example of that 1%, due to the face that appears and the ear that protrudes away from the primary orb. But then again, this is just me /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Again, these were only resized and cropped in PSE using the 570x300 template.

Debunking? I obviously accept that these are anamalous images rather than simple artifacts, explained away as reflections, dust, blurred movement, cowboy hats, etc. Being at the party, nobody had a hat... but you wouldn't know that. Movement among the people wasn't blurry even though I know they were moving, but you wouldn't know that either. Was it a dust particle or maybe even ash-in-flight from the fire behind me? What about those pesky little antennas? I'll let you be the judge /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

People shoot orbs all the time and have even asked if it's dust. One easy way to determine this we tell them, is to turn on their green laser pointer. Those little sparkling flashes in the laser's beam are dust and other particulates. After all, as you said, it is dusty in Arizona and this is the easiest way for them to see it for themselves.

When we take people out on tours, there are typically two types of people 1) Believers and 2) Non-Believing Skeptics. Without getting into all the variations of each, let's just keep it simple here. When there is an admitted skeptic on a tour, they tend to see something they can't get their head around. For them, it's about "Seeing is Believing" and using their sense of sight for their primary experience. For the people that believe in UFOs, they typically do not SEE anything so outrageous. Rather, they are encouraged to use their other senses as well, which includes the Sense of Balance or equilibrium.

I mention this because not everything can be so easily explained away using the "see it to believe it" rationality. For the skeptic, sure it can. But when one person is unable to move, smells something that others do not, feels something that others do not, or sense a strong presence in a particular location that others do not pick up on, should this be dismissed because they didn't SEE anything? Typically, when only one data point is found, it can very easily be dismissed and often is. However, when there are more, it becomes much more difficult.

Even when an orb from dust appears, I don't dismiss it as unimportant just because I believe it's dust or pollen. I look for and consider other experiential data from them and others. Why waste the time? Because I don't believe in accidents or coincidence. Rather, I believe in synchronicity and therefore that the dust that reflected at that exact moment did so for a reason... or that the Universe, God or Great Spirit or whatever, can (and does) use a naturally occurring dust particle to add to an experience instead of creating something overly fantastic - such as a burning bush. This is my belief based on my experiences.

Tom, in my opinion, is no different. Sure I know him. I lived with him and his wife for a short period and had some interesting conversations with both of them. This doesn't mean I feel the same as he does on everything. Tom has lived his life and I, mine. Is he interested in selling books for money? Of course, but that's not the only reason he published his findings. Does he believe that ALL orbs are aliens? Of course not. Could some of them be Ball Lightning? Sure. Are others dust, pollen, rain drops, I'm sure and he knows this too. However, it's important to remember that when someone experiences something, their mind interprets it based on their beliefs at the time, which were likewise created by their prior experiences/beliefs. Tom's books were published during the years 1988-2000. What year is it now? Have your beliefs changed at all in any 10-year period of your life?

How then would you describe something for others when little-to-nothing was known about it at the time? Is it possible that in the years ahead more will be learned about it and that your original findings might not be so accurate in retrospect?

First let me say that I am a believer that there is something beyond this life as we know it. Alien life....possibly.

Antennas? I highly doubt it.

I guess my biggest problem with all this is that no one truly knows what an orb is, let alone someone claiming that they are aliens.

That is a belief, not a fact.

And a personal experience is nothing more than that, a personal experience, not proof of the afterlife or aliens.

the main thing i notice in the picture with the woman is that she doesn't seem to be looking at the orb. i am not trying to be a PITA here, but her pose doesn't match where the orb is. her eyes aren't looking at the correct spot. she is looking more where the orb is in the UPPER picture, the enlargement. or am i seeing this all wrong???

I attached these images only to show one of the orbs we photographed, that is unlikely dust or pollen. The woman was actually looking at the moon and this object was not visible. It showed up in the photo only.

I have to agree with Dr. O as far as Tom Dongo goes. To me, he's just trying to sell more books. I have a second home in southern AZ and it's so dusty there, almost every pic I take outside has so called 'orbs' in them.
