This was the 'foundation' for a ROUND TABLE DIALOG that I was a part of with a friends NEW AGE BOOK STORE:

Usually I don't get to pick the topic, but he liked this "spin" and it was an 'interesting' Round Table. It certainly raised some emotions and yes .. it caused people to think about this 'belief'.

The Emperor's New Clothes

I was reading this story the other night to my g'daughters. As they went to bed, I began to ponder this story with the New Age Doctrine of "MY REALITY". This is very much and I'll add, SPOT ON, great analogy for this very "strange doctrine".

Most everyone bought into the "reality" for various reasons of fear, being left out, not respected, meet expectations, follow the group, being "in" with the "in crowd", "socially expectable" to, expected to go along …..

Even the Emperor had-felt compelled to believed in the "reality" of the clothes for fear of obviously … , all but one brave little lad had the courage? honesty? to speak the objective truth -> THE EMPEROR WAS NAKED!

How dare this lad do this! He obviously had no respect for authority of any kind, of personal belief/realities. He spoke out against the "Royal Court" and the majority, and against everyone who pushed and 'sold' – 'followed' and 'believed' this "Reality". How dare he!!

I mean, this lad had to shout it out, to get the Emperor, et all to hear, because it was during a "Royal Display" with all the "Pomp" and such. So he was not "shy" or "quiet" and well, once again, certainly NOT respectful. I mean, a child of all things! Certainly, this child did not 'know his place', especially in the area of respect and 'go with the flow' and 'just keep silent'.

Reminds me of my daughter when she was a child. We were at the Alderwood Mall and she saw this 18'ish old boy all dressed out in his "colored mow-hawk hair", and I do mean multi-colored like a rainbow and add to it the black clothing and clearly making a "statement" about his "reality". Oh, what did my daughter say???

"Daddy, look at the clown!", with all the excitement of a child seeing, well yes, a clown.

Oh, the kid's response? He gave the "RIGHTEOUS GLARE" .. for which several of us just laughed…. His "reality statement" went down in a flame of laughter. Yes, her daughter many years later …. did pretty much the same thing recently at an Albertson store. That kid was a little more good natured and took in stride. He even said, "I guess I had it coming, huh?" We all just laughed, including the kid.

He excepted that his 'reality' was indeed .. well …… pretty silly looking in the real world.

So the questions are:

• How is your reality seen in the REAL OBJECTIVE WORLD… is it seen as the Emperor's clothes?

• Are your friends and such, feeding your 'nakedness' like the court and such of the Emperor, out of "respect for your reality"?

… are friend and those around you "feeding" your "Naked Reality" and more importantly -> WHY?

• How do you respond when someone comes along and speaks the truth, "Hey you're naked!"

Or … maybe your reality is like the "Wicked Witch of the West" in The Wizard of Oz?? Huh???

Hi JJB, well this is an interesting way to compare the children's story to the present day world of paranormal investigations or the New Age philosophies (such as Indigo Children and such, I assume?). Well I will answer your questions from my own (not an investigator nor a devout follower of New Age ideas). Remember, this is my opinion based on my life experiences and my own personal nature so even if we have different answers, I don't think there is a right way or a wrong way to answer.

Here goes:

•How is your reality seen in the REAL OBJECTIVE WORLD… is it seen as the Emperor's clothes? A: I probably see the world thru rose colored glasses because I choose to see that which is possible. Call me Pollyanna, it's been said before but it's working for me so I will continue.

•Are your friends and such, feeding your 'nakedness' like the court and such of the Emperor, out of "respect for your reality"? A: Probably, if they know me, they know that I am a sensitive person. They may approach an issue with me in a roundabout way out of "respect for my reality" (which is how I would in turn approach an issue with them). Personally, these are the kind of people most likely to stay in my life, I choose not to surround myself with people who would rather be right rather than be kind and helpful. I am at least half way thru my life at this point and I learned that it is unhealthy for ME to keep company with those that don't care about my feelings. You see, this is very important to me since it is a recurring theme in my life. I understand and even respect people that have a different personality or shall we say "way of communicating". There is definitely a time and place for direct confrontation and bluntness. I just reserve those big guns for when it is truly necessary (for example, if someone is hurting themselves or others).

•How do you respond when someone comes along and speaks the truth, "Hey you're naked!" A: My usual reaction is usually feeling hurt and defensive. Not very conducive (in my book) to create a situation where I can really learn anything helpful because I am too concerned with feeling hurt and defensive. I know it's important to know the truth and not operate in the land of wishes and dreams but I prefer that someone not holler at me, "hey, you're naked!". I think there are alternative ways to deliver the hard truth.

Or … maybe your reality is like the "Wicked Witch of the West" in The Wizard of Oz?? Huh??? A: Not sure what the question here is but I do have a decent impression of her- "I'll get you my pretty, and you're little dog, too! HA, HA, HA, HA, HA!! Kind of falls flat, huh?

Well, anyway those are my answers. I know they are probably different than yours and many other folks but that's ok with me. We need all kinds of people to get things done in this world and it just wouldn't do to have everyone behave like me, now would it?

Part II – The Wicked Witch of the West.

Why am I posting this?

One of the main of many reasons is … > Because a lot of people get left, with their "reality" that they have and do not see that they are "naked" and "unprotected" when it comes to the real objective world. I will give more specifics at the end of this specific post.

Again remember all the people that 'went along' with the "Emperor's new clothes" .. for all their various sundry reasoning and rationalizations .. even the Emperor himself… and they all had their 'reasons', be they 'good' or 'bad' – 'right' or 'wrong'. Be it pride, wanting to fit in, wanting to belong, fear of rejection or punishment, to 'it is the right thing to do, it's their reality' … to .. (fill in the blank) …

But in the end, the reality of this 'reality' was -> The Emperor was naked!

Despite what the majority said .. say all they want, preach all they want .. The Emperor was still naked, pure and simple. All the "belief" and "nice talk" and such would not change the fact. No matter how much faith, belief, talk and such .. it would not change the fact: THE EMPEROR WAS NAKED.

Now what about the end of the last post: The "Wicked Witch of the West" from The Wizard of Oz??

With all the "Power" and such that the Wicked Witch of the West had .. and yes .. in the movie (fantasy) she had "powers". Everyone FEARED HER, with Great Fear!

But one person, did the 'wrong' thing at the 'wrong time' to reveal the truth ….

With all this "power" this Witch claimed and "showed" she had … it took something as SIMPLE as a Bucket of Water (objective reality), to expose and bring her down into an Emotional Melt Down of Screaming .. "I'm melting .. I'm melting …… " and poof … all that 'power' gone, because of the simple objective reality of a BUCKET OF WATER!

I bet, had it been told .. everyone would have thought, "Man, if it only took a bucket of water to bring her down, I would have done it long ago!!"

Let me make this now more clear:

Barb the Dragon Lady:

Understand Barb at the time was in her early 60's. Yes you read right.

She had in her "reality" – Multi-Colored Warrior Dragon's at her beck-and-call, to do 'battle' for her, to protect her and so on. This was very much a very serious "REALITY" to her! Very serious … some of us, especially me at first, when I met her, thought it was an RPG – Roll Playing Game. She was 'blowing up spiritual vortexs' – 'spiritually healing people' – 'teaching people lessons' and so on with these dragons. Or so she thought and believed…..these dragons even 'saved' and 'protected' her from her subjective world attacks. Very much so, I am sure she was seriously convinced of this 'reality'.

BUT … when it came to the Objective Real World, her dragons would no more protect her from a "bucket of water" …. then the "Easter Bunny".

Yet, this was where she was going with her "reality" and in fact was already 'there'.

Then when the objective reality of a "bucket of water" .. reality "hit", she, like the Wicked Witch of the West – had an emotional melt down, when something as simple as a "Bucket of Water" hit her. This "bucket" being, "Your dragons are not real. We all thought you were playing a game." Oops. The "wrong" – "mean", "politically incorrect", "totally bad" to …….. "wasn't your place/call" … etc ….

That was it, just a "bucket of water" (truth-honesty in this case) … and she wasted away into an emotional puddle, "I'mmmmm melting… I'mmmm melting…." All that so called "power" and "authority" of her Warrior Rainbow Dragons was gone and Barb's "Reality" was NOT!

From what I understand from the Rumor Mill – Barb is now in a Half-Way House now .. when she learned that everyone, like in the Emperor's New Clothes, just went a long … and did not speak the truth …. (sooner) … She crumbled into an emotional puddle. Her "Foundation" could not even withstand a "bucket of water" .. it washed her "foundation" away.

"Well I'm not Barb the Dragon Lady!!" … Oh? Or is it, that your 'reality' simply has not been yet challenged by the real world .. bucket of water .. or when it is .. do you get 'self-righteous', 'holy then thou' and/or spout the "need for respect"?

Has any of your "friends" had/have the courage to tell you … "hey, this isn't going to work!" ??? Or are they like everyone in The Emperor's New Clothes, tell you exactly what you want and expect to hear?????

So the question is – would your "reality" really honestly protect you from the real world, or like the Wicked Witch or the Emperor, do you run away or 'melt' into an emotional puddle naked and exposed and showing just how powerful you ain't!???

Greg the Psychic Warrior.

Greg is an interesting guy. Well at least he was. He saw himself as the "great psychic warrior" .. that could 'meet you on the psychic plane' and 'take you down', 'teach you a lesson or two' … or again, so he thought and believed. This was "his reality" … note the "was".

He stalked me for about 3 years from group to group. He was, how shall I put this… PISSED OFF WITH ME! I "called him out" more then a few times on his so called "psychic battles". I mean, fine if Greg was indeed doing an RPG .. hey I would join in the game. But Greg was serious, dead serious.

After about 3 years of his threats and telling me "tonight I'm going to take you down….", this went on from 1998 – 2002'ish. When he finally saw that I was no more effected by his "psychic attacks", he finally grew up and saw it for what it was … EMPTY … NAKED and the Bucket of Water hit hard.

I even got an e-mail, " … he is crushed. You have no idea how bad you have humiliated him. GOOD FOR YOU! He had taken this psychic crap too far and I'm glad to finally get him back down to Earth and starting to get back into the real world…."

Who was this from??

His wife!!

One fact to remember -> Just because it's your "reality" doesn't make it someone else's.

What happens if their 'reality' is a little more real??

Then what?

Remember it might just take a "bucket of water" to bring you down .. or a child finally speaking up – "You're naked!"

Now the clincher.

I'm not an UN-Believer in Psi Abilities. You'd all be very surprised at just how much of a believer I am.

But here is the thing – I know the difference between Objective Psi Powers and Subjective.

The Reason – I never want someone to look me in the eye and ask me, "Why didn't you tell me the truth about this?" I had that happen once many many years ago and it was a 'bitter pill to swallow'.

*** I never want that that question asked of me again. ***

So my first reason is – I do not want to hear and see people seriously hurt or injured.

Anyone remember the boy who's parents told him, "You are indigo and can do anything you set your mind to." He wanted to fly like Superman and wound up in the hospital with serious injuries?

Remember the post about the two Jr High boys who thought they had "Psionic" powers and wanted to teach the school bullies a lesson and well .. they were taught the lessons?

Now again .. there is a big difference between the subjective reality of a lot of the "BS" out there. But when reality "Hits" – be it a kid telling you the truth .. or a 'bucket of water' splashing and melting your "reality" …. in the end …. I never want anyone to say .. "Why didn't you warn me, this was fantasy?"

There is real psi out there people, limited in scope and such … and it's not "subjective" or 'fantasy' and such ..

Yes I believe …. but I know the difference between subjective and objective …

^^^Ok, this was a really long and convoluted post but I believe the gist is that the truth shall set you free. Am I right? Probably not, but maybe it is not for me to understand. My gut tells me that this discussion is not for me.

I also learned that I have no desire to seek out people such as those described above. Seriously, there is enough actual, real life violence in the world without venturing into RPGs and New Age psychic attacks. No offense to JJB but this stuff is just a little too far out there for me. I have enough to worry about with 2 of my sisters' sons getting ready to go to war, cancer and diabetes lurking at all times, worries about the government shutdown and not going to work on Monday. Geez, I just don't have the mental capacity to even want to try to understand this stuff. Trust me, I know what is real and true in my life and it is challenging enough to get up every day and deal with regular life.

More power to those of you that think this is worthy to spend your energy on, have at it. I am choosing to "protect and defend" myself by not exposing myself to this. Thanks for the glimpse inside, but I have seen enough

Yes – truth and knowledge will set you free. That is why I post some like this – and why I don't mix words in my posts.

I want people to think – to ponder a word that some (not all) do not want to deal with, until it's 'too late': CONSEQUENCES. Not just to yourself – but to family, extended family and friends.

I'm sorry for the length – it was actually cut down a lot … the sad thing is these are not the 'exception' to the rules. These people are far more common then is realized. I did not 'go out of my way' …. to 'find these' …. I have many pages of many different encounters of various "psi" – "new age" – "psychics" and "metaphysical" beliefs that left a lot of my friends and group memebers going, "HUH????" Then upon doing some basic research, to find out in most cases, these were actually understated, if you can believe that!

I agree totally where you are coming from and understand.

That is why I post some like these – I actually have a post – that is semi-dated The Future Consequences of New Age Beliefs. For which already some of the consequences are being seen and felt by far too many people and extended family members.
