I think you have to seek out a professional numerologist to get the information you need. It's like any other subject: you can learn a bunch of junk and hooey on the web or you can actually study the topic with a professional instructor. I am sure that a professional can lead you to some books on the topic that are more textbook than entertainment, as well.

Like you, I believe that there is a reason that so many people all over the world believe that numerology, astrology or some combination of both are effective. Since I don't think that I am smarter than all of those people, so I keep an open mind.

Chiming in late on this topic since I've been out of state for the past few weeks. Like Jilla08, I am very curious about numerology since I met a professional numerologist on a plane who did a quick rendering of me, my husband, my parents and my brothers (it was a LONG flight) and he was completely accurate in every way. It was actually spooky....It is worth noting that the big investment companies have astrologers and numerologists on staff, too. The Reagans used both an astrologer and a numerologist for most of their married lives and swore by it. Their astrologer even warned Reagan not to be out on the day he was shot.

I'm not saying numerology works for sure, but I don't think that you can completely discount the possibility that it does work.

This man described our personalities to a T. I couldn't believe it. Of course, he was a PROFESSIONAL numerologist which no doubt makes him heaps better than some generic web site. It's akin to getting tax advice from a web site or a tax attorney who is also an accountant. I would love to have followed up and had a full session with him if a "quick" reading was that good.

It is worth noting that people in Hong Kong and Singapore pay feng shui masters the equivalent of $100,000 or more to have them choose their child's name. That's how much they believe in numerology and the power of names. I learned a long time ago not to scoff at any belief that has been maintained for thousands of years. People may be dumb, but even the stupidest people would give up on an idea that didn't work over that time frame. There is more going on than we know so I try to always keep an open mind.

This the sad thing - That is why I am all about education - giving people the knowledge to think through the 'what' - 'why' of what they choose to believe.

I've just seen too many people hurt - abused - and taken of their $$ and even for sex.

No I do not nor have ever 'told what people to believe' - ... but I do challenge, question and make observations to do just that ... CHALLENGE THEM TO THINK ...

Right now I am in several forums that are talking about "CURSES" and those who "pronounce" them on people.

I am still amazed that people do not see this as "psychological warfare" - vs - actual 'paranormal curses'. Why people choose to give people like this that kind of "power" (please note " " ) over their lives is beyond my reasoning skills.

Here is one true story ... that I was involved in:

Three plus .... years ago - a doctor (client) of mine called me in relationship to a patient of hers.

The doctor had run a bunch of very very expensive medical - X-ray - CT - MRI and some very PAINFUL (For the patient) tests. ALL results came back negative of anything significant health wise.

As I looked at the records - I just went, "Wow ... you've even done all of these test 2x's with a different source running/doing these tests! This is a hell of a lot of money here, even in Co-Pays! Why?"

"Jj, she won't tell me. She just keeps going, "I know something is wrong. We have to find it before it takes my life!" And that is all she will tell me. That she just knows something is wrong."

So I told her to go ahead and set up an appointment with her patient and let her know exactly who I am and why I'm there.

The doctor began to tell her patient all the tests came back negative and this poor gal was starting to swell up with tears and you could see the lump building in her throat. I really honestly hated to see this. This gal was walking emotional fear.

You could see she was almost ready to break down.

So finally I asked her, "Marie, what makes you so certain that something is wrong?" I then handed her a sealed envelope. Told her not to open until I said so.

She simply looked down at her feet and then the envelope and said, "I just know something is wrong, I just know."

"Marie, let me ask you a simple question. Did you do something you feel is stupid? Like the gal I know that was canning and knew full well one of the jars of fruit was poisoned. Yet, just on auto-pilot she licked her finger." We all do stupid things now and then, it's part of being human. Now I will let you know I do not think this is the case. But I've been wrong a few times here and there."

She smiled a little but was still very emotionally upset. "Sir, I just know something is wrong! I just know it! And no it is nothing like that."

Her doctor went over the test results again assuring her that everything from head to toe was just fine. But Marie was not convinced.

Finally I looked at the doctor and then Marie and told her to open the envelope. She did and read it.

"Oh my god, how did you know?" She was in full tears now and was trembling in fear and emotions.

"Dear Marie, after talking with your doctor in depth and reviewing your medical tests and such. I think what is going on is something along the lines that you were "cursed" or had a 'spell' pronounced over you."

"Sir, this is exactly what happened. One of the Wiccan Priestess was upset that I dared challenged her in what she was doing. Casting a curse on another member that left. I just went, "This is wrong, we should not be doing this. This is evil and wrong." Then the Priestess looked at me with a "How dare you question me!" That is when she cursed me with death. Sir, she has told us stories of what has happened to people that questioned and challenged her. She even told me there is no shielding or anything else that could protect me from her.

I looked at her and said, "You do realize that these were just that: STORIES, right?. Let me ask you an honest question, did anyone ever validate this besides a "fellow sister" of hers? I even bet you she threw in just enough spiritual techno-babble and such to make it sound real and legit and yet I bet if you go back and play her words back in your mind, that you will see that all her words and such were vague and/or general statements like some people I know say, " I know your passed on loved one is ... re-incarnating, moving on ... " and yet they offer nothing of substance that this the actual loved one being talked about. It is just assumed that she must be right!!" Right?

"How did you know she had a sister like friend? Yes, her sister, as they call each other confirmed that Nancy should never be tested, that the results are not good. And yes she has done death readings like that. Yes, now that you mentioned it she did not offer anything that confirmed this was indeed the loved one in question!"

"So, Marie, no one outside was able to validate any of her statements? They were all taken based on her, "say so..."??"

"No, sir, now that you mention it, none of these were ever confirmed. Yes it was based on her authority and yes what you would call, her say so." We could see she was going through her memories on this and relief began to show slowly.

"Marie, these tests prove one thing clearly. That you have nothing more to fear from this fraud. You were right to question and challenge what she was doing! In fact totally RIGHT ON! You have nothing to fear from her except, well "smoke stories", if you will. These are nothing more the vapor and actually even less then that. These are all lies, if we want to be honest."

Again we could see enlightenment wash over her face even more as she finally was looking me in the eyes.

"See these people are frauds. They sell themselves by preying on your honest ignorance and fears. They know how to wage psychological warfare. They know how to do this very well. But she lost now and you can stand against her in full confidence and understanding that she is a fraud. Now yes, it cost you your co-pays and some emotional toll. But Marie, don't let her have any more of your life. She is worth the time of day anymore. Do not let her psych you out. In fact now stand up to her by calling those who she cursed and let them now you learned at an honest cost that she is 100% a fraud. Tell them your story and let them be set free from her control as well. I now want you to see one thing. There was something that can and will always protect you from frauds like this: TRUTH & KNOWELDGE. Truth will set and keep you free and knowledge and understanding will keep you there."

There was a lot more shared, but by the end of the appointment Marie was free from this gal's grip.

FOLLOW-UP: This Wiccan Group is gone. The Priestess is defrocked. Yes she is more then just PO'd by all of this, according to Marie's reports and the people that she helped see and understand the real truth about this "Priestess". Her health is just A-OKAY and she is going to be a grandma this spring to a baby boy. She is so excited!

She wrote this letter to her doctor and I know I can (I have permission) to share this much of it:

" ... I want to thank you both doctor and your friend. I cannot tell you how much that appointment has changed my life and the life of my family as they see me happy again. My friends in the Wiccan group have decided it is best to leave that stuff alone. Not that it has any real power, but we've seen the abuse of it just too much. The Priestess fell hard and I thank you both. As I began to take friends out to coffee and tell them my story they too began to see exactly what was truth and what was lies. Several even began to ask for confirmation that she was indeed seeing their dead family members. She could not do it. She could offer nothing to prove this was indeed the loved one. Oh was she angry and her face was redder then the deepest red apple. She began to swear, curse and through no small anger temper tantrums. That is when more and more began to see the truth of and about her. She lost her grip and control and we all walked out on her and never looked back. The stories of her fall spread and that was it, she was and is done. Yes the truth about her has set us all free from her. That is what I told her when she asked how I was not harmed by her spells. I looked her in the eye. Truth set me free and knowledge and understanding will keep there. Your lies no longer have any power over me . Tell your friend the look on her face was really worth it all. I could see she feared truth. I had never seen it so clearly as that day...."

Again the question is - If one treats these like they would investing money with the expectation of a decent return and after reading the FINE PRINT .... would one actually take their hard earned money and invest it?
