I respect your opinion, but she is much admired all over the world, especially in India where she did most of her work. They even put her image on a coin, so they obviously admired her. Personally, all I have ever done is write checks for different charities, so I admire anyone who did as much as she did. She may not have done things the way that I would do them, but at least she did something. Just my very humble opinion.

Incidentally, she is on the third of four steps to becoming a saint, so the Catholic church thinks she did okay, too.

I'm sure there are many arguments for her "wonderful servitude," but I refuse to subscribe to the notion that she was wonderful when she had millions of dollars donated to her charities and still let people under her care live in abject poverty. She could have made their lives a million times better and she did not. Frankly, she disgusts me.

As I said, just my opinion and I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, I'm just putting it out there that she may not have been as great as everyone makes her out to be.

Actually I agree with you 100% ... I also find it funny that people do not understand that the United States of America is NOT a Democracy ... but a REPUBLIC. Most do not even know the difference.

Legend has it that, at the close of the Constitutional Convention, a woman approached Benjamin Franklin and asked him what type of government had been decided upon by the delegates. Franklin stated: "We have given you a Republic, if you can keep it."

At the risk of being pedantic, the whole "separation of church and state" thing is vastly over-stretched. The First Amendment of our Constitution simply states that "CONGRESS shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ....", while Article VI specifies that "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." Everything else has been a result of the courts "expanding" the Constitution. We could argue all day about whether they were correct to do so or not, but personally, I do not think that our founding fathers had keeping Mother Theresa off of a stamp in mind when they drafted our founding documents.

What happened to stamps just being stamps, you know the same standard stamp.

I agree about the charities, particularly children. One in four go to bed hungry at night.

At a time when people in our country are in such need, why is our government even focusing on this (spending of money).

Honestly I don't care if the person is great or not, just why is it being done during these hard times.

I go to the P. O. what comes out of the machine I take. I had to look at my stamps to see what was actually on them, if asked even after using one I wouldn't know.

I use stamps less know than ever with onlne bill paying, etc.

On the same token, I don't even know how much an individual stamp costs. Mine have the Liberty Bell, and no price.

I take ten bucks with me to the P. O. throw the money in and get change in coin dollars, that I end up giving away as quaters. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
