OfflineActually I agree with you 100% … I also find it funny that people do not understand that the United States of America is NOT a Democracy … but a REPUBLIC. Most do not even know the difference.
Legend has it that, at the close of the Constitutional Convention, a woman approached Benjamin Franklin and asked him what type of government had been decided upon by the delegates. Franklin stated: "We have given you a Republic, if you can keep it."
OfflineReligion aside, Mother Theresa was a great humanitarian who devoted her long life to taking care of the wretchedly poor. In addition to advocating the expansion of his religion "at the point of a sword", Mohammed married a 6 year old old when he was an old man and consummated the marriage when the girl was nine. You bet your sweet arse I'd protest if they put his image on a stamp or anything else.
If I offend, I'm sorry, but there is a HUGE difference here.
To steal your words, "If I offend, I'm sorry," but you should do a bit more research on the "great humanitarian who devoted her long life to taking care of the wretchedly poor," she was anything but. She is not a human being I would want to be identified with in any way, shape, or form.

Okay – please site your sources for your post …. Now granted "wretchedly" is a subjective term, but … prey tell what exactly did she do that would make you NOT want to be identified with?
Honestly Curious…..

Mind you, this just happens to be my opinion. Ask anyone around here, I am strongly opinionated when it comes to this stuff. I'm sure there are many arguments for her "wonderful servitude," but I refuse to subscribe to the notion that she was wonderful when she had millions of dollars donated to her charities and still let people under her care live in abject poverty. She could have made their lives a million times better and she did not. Frankly, she disgusts me.
As I said, just my opinion and I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, I'm just putting it out there that she may not have been as great as everyone makes her out to be.
Some examples of her "greatness":

okay … no problem, I understand and see where you are coming from. Thanks for the come-back.

I respect your opinion, but she is much admired all over the world, especially in India where she did most of her work. They even put her image on a coin, so they obviously admired her. Personally, all I have ever done is write checks for different charities, so I admire anyone who did as much as she did. She may not have done things the way that I would do them, but at least she did something. Just my very humble opinion.
Incidentally, she is on the third of four steps to becoming a saint, so the Catholic church thinks she did okay, too.

Don't get me started on the pedophile-hiding catholic church. Their opinion means squat to me.
I just read you have to be dead for 5 years before you're considered for a stamp. I'm not in the running, yet.

So, basically we have about 4 years until we see Michael Jackson.
If this happens I find this beyond creepy!
And speaking of pedophiles, if they put MJ on a stamp I may boycott the Post Office forever.
