LadySciFi, thanks for sharing the latest. I think that if this was happening in my home, I would probably not be brave enough to invite it to communicate. I'd be afraid of emboldening whatever it is. I'd hope that I would at least have enough courage to tell it to leave, that it is my turn to live in that house. I just don't think I would want to open that door. Good luck and let us know if you get anything recorded. Oh, definitely look into the mold thing like Sithy suggested just in case (that stuff can cause all kinds of problems).

The house is pretty new, and I haven't seen any signs of mold. And to smell it on my pillow. I had just changed the sheets earlier and the pillow cases came from the dryer.

The house is a rental, and even though it is a non smoking house, I don't know if previous renters smoked. So ofcourse, that could definately be a factor.

I can't help but be curious. I was hesitant in doing an EVP, and yes, I do worry about opening a door, but I've got to know. I did do an EVP yesterday, but have yet to listen to it.

I am not sure how I would react if I hear something definate. /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Probably set up a video. If I caught something that way, I would then contact the paranormal people here in Tulsa.

They would be better equipt to ask it to leave.

Hi there! I know Im new but I just wanted to throw one more theory out there.

Have you ever heard of a Familiar?

I am very glad that you are considering all non-paranormal possibilities, that is the first thing to do. One theory I have heard is that sometimes spirits/entities/souls/ghosties (whatever you want to call them) will attach themselves to a person instead of an location or an object. There was a case here in Nova Scotia of a lady (Esther Cox) who was haunted, allegedly, by the spirit of a man who she rejected. There was a book published called Mine To Kill. Wether you take it as fact or fiction, its a good book. LOL She moved around trying to get rid of the ghost but he followed. I have also heard of spirits of relatives attaching themselves to loved ones, kinda like a hands on guardian angel. Just a theory.

Cheers!

Welcome to PUG!!!

Your input, as well as everyone elses, is very much appreciated.

I have thought about the possibility that this maybe something attached to either one of us or perhaps an item. Or perhaps there are very practical reasons why these occurrences are transpiring.

Unless I get an indisputable amount of evidence, I am siding with the "it is all in our (perhaps we watched one too many Ghost Adventures eps) heads" theory.

Until then, it is business as usual. Incidently, I listen to half of the tape and though I do not hear "voices" or even "a Voice", it sounded like the recorder was tapped and dragged a bit. Since I can't remember exactly where on the table it was, I will chalk it up to , next time I will photograph it before leaving.

Hey!!! Bare with me, I am an amateur at best with this stuff. /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

And really, aren't we all amatures? The best way to learn, I think, is by our own experiences. I dont think I would have thought of outlining the recorder either. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Well…i don`t know what kind of drawers you have but at least my cats could never open mine nor my desk cause the lids are just to heavy for them to move. It has been almost a month since you recorded for the EVP so…any updates? di you try the chalk as well?

I`m intruiged because i also hear many things and my dog always seems scared and stares at walls but i don`t have anything to record.

Indeed, the smell of smoke could be anything and cause by many things. If only it wasn't so random, and the smell not followed me to three different states and different residences. Maybe we just have bad luck in picking residences /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> I haven't smelled the cigarette smoke for a long while.

Everytime I have that hair in the back of my neck feeling, the smoke detector does its beeping shortly after.

For the longest time it has been quiet. I just thought "good it has past". Then that feeling came back. I chose to ignore it. Dogs haven't acted up but there were little signs. My son stopped up the sink and put dishes in to finish washing them. I had to go to the store, so the whole family had to come (ugh, like I needed all of them) When we got back, the water was drained, the soap suds blanketed the dishes. The stopper was pulled out and put on the side. Freaked my son out. Three nights ago, I am trying to sleep. And it felt like someone pushed my shoulder hard. I never scooted so fast across the bed and latched on to my hubby. It took me a few minutes to turn around to see what it could be. It wasn't a slap, just like a hard nudge. Nothing or nobody was there. I guess I don't have to tell you that I have a hard time sleeping at night /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Other than that, nothing else is going on. If these occurances were continuous, I would be contacting my local Paranormal investigators. But they aren't. There could be good reasons. And like I have said before, until I see a ghost go boo or see things float around, I will side with the skeptic in me.

To update: My kids asked me about my paranormal experiences. I mentioned the time when I was very young, living at home with my parents. I told my family I felt there was strange things happening in our home. My parents and sister told me I was full of it. We all went into our separate rooms right after that discussion. When our doors closed, the fire alarm went off for that split second. I am not surprised. My Mom was into Targot cards and physics

My kids proceeded to tell me about their experiences in our current house. As we were discussing them, the fire alarm started to beep at random. Scared my kids and rattled me pretty well. They ended up sleeping with me in bed, and it stopped when my hubby came home from work (He works nights) We have seen shadows. The thing that concerns me is how my German Shepherd acts when we get home if we have been away for the day. He looks scared to death.

LadySciFi, I shortened your quote some and will refer to some of your other comments on this particular thread. First I see that your paranormal experiences began as a child. My paranormal experiences began in early childhood and continue to the present day. You mentioned the STRONG scent of cotton candy. When you say strong, to me it means very distinct. I have smelled perfume and offensive odors in my house from time to time. Do know that cotton candy was invented in 1897 I believe.

Do you happen to know the local history of the land that your home sits on? You could go to your local library or even search online about the history of the land. Sometimes it is not the house but the land itself that can cause the activity. Was there ever a circus or carnival on the land where your home sits or nearby? I am talking about 100 years ago or more recent times.

I have a Sony micro-cassette recorder that will automatically turn on and begin recording sound. Unfortunately it will turn on a second later after a sound such as a loud crashing sound or a loud knock.

When you mentioned fire alarm, are you referring to a smoke detector?

I have no explanation about the chest of drawers opening up by themselves except for paranormal activity.

The opening and closing of the door could be explained by science or it could be due to paranormal activity. I am a true believer in spirits and entities. However I can dismiss some things that many believe to be of a paranormal nature.

I mentioned the land that a building sits on because of a television show that I watched about 30 years ago. I think that the show was called "That's Incredible" and it had to do with a haunted Toys-R-Us store in Sunnyvale, California. There is a photo of this entity and there is a security video of toys being thrown to the floor. Here is a web site with a photo of the entity. Do know that I would never engage in a seance. http://www.angelfire…on/toysrus.html

This is the best that I can do with a Youtube video at this time.
