Prophetic Dream?

I have an ongoing personal experience that I thought I'd share. For years, I've had dreams about this kid that I knew in from kindergarten onward. I haven't seen him in more than 25 years, and we never had a particular relationship or friendship. He was just a kid I knew. He pops up in my dreams fairly regularly. Several years ago, I started to wonder why this kid kept showing up in my dreams. I didn't dream about other kids I went to school with. So I started to notice a pattern. Whenever I dreamed about this kid, the very next day some significant change would take place in my life. I'd get a job. I'd lose a job. I'd make a new friend. It was always some kind of a big change that came in the day following my dreams (or sometimes two days).

About a month ago, I had a dream about this kid. The very next day I was offered a new, ongoing editing contract with a ton of possibilities for growth and opportunity. Then, this past Thursday, I had a another dream about him. This time, he was standing there on crutches with a broken leg. The broken leg was the main part of the dream – and it was the first time that I'd ever dreamed about him being sick or injured. Friday morning (the very next day) I wound up in the hospital with a severe kidney stone attack.

Coincidence? Prophetic dream? Confirmation bias? It's interesting and I'll keep watching for patterns.

What happened in the dream with him the night before you got the new job?

I don't remember – I'll have to pay closer attention. I remember that it was a comforting dream.

OK then I go with … you're psychic and know when things are going to happen, subconsciously even, and so in these times you dream of your old acquaintance in similar situations. Why him? Because impacted you in some way during the time you knew him. The impact might have been subtle, but it had to be there.

How is that for a theory out of left field! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Do you remember how he interacted with other people in your school? Any particular relationships he may have had with other students, or organizations he was associated with? Maybe you are projecting his actions involving other people…

Now THAT is from DEEP left field!

I haven't. He has a really common name, so it wouldn't be easy.

I've spent years trying to figure this out – why this one kid. He was a nice enough kid. Good at sports, intelligent, good kid. I remember him really well from grade school thru about sixth grade. We had every class together up until that point. After that, I know he was around but we got into progressively larger schools, so I barely saw him. I do remember him coming through the drive through when I was working fast food the summer before I went to college and it was like catching up with an old friend. That was probably the last time I saw him. I have no idea whether he went on to college, joined the military, stayed in our hometown. I haven't seen or heard of him in 25 years.

That would be truly strange – we weren't besties or anything. He was just a guy I knew.

The soul group theory is that we go through many, many lives with the same group of souls who play out different roles in each other's lives so that important lessons can be learned. That's it in a nutshell.

I'm just glad I found you in this crazy forum world, NoWhammies. You make me feel less crazy lol.

I've had the same kind of experience my whole life. A reoccurring dream that always coincided with major events in my life/the world- the dream was always the same with a few changes. It started when I was a toddler and had imagery that was far beyond what any toddler should know about. Creepy, scary, crazy.

And then there are the prophetic dreams I have, which are usually over really trivial things. Some of them I'll have a year or so before the dreamed event occurs in reality. My favorite one was a dream of a pink mail truck. I had when I was about 14. Then, at 17, wouldn't you know, I was driving in a town I'd never been to, and there it was- the pink mail truck. If only it had been winning lottery numbers…*sigh*

Oh you know – I sometimes have dreams that predict earthquakes and train derailments. Not every one, but enough of those the night before one actually happened that I see a pattern.

Okay this just stopped me cold. I've never made the connection to Wellington before. Wellington is certainly a train derailment….in a very large sense. And an avalanche coming down a hill could certainly feel like an earthquake. Huh. What an odd coincidence.

Wow- that's crazy. One thing's for certain- you were meant to go to Wellington.

My reoccurring dream usually occurred before wars, assassination attempts, hurricanes/natural disasters, and my parents divorce as a child. However, that reoccurring dream stopped in my late teens and was replaced by a new reoccurring dream. I still can't figure out what this one means.

Well, as for yours- it's definitely something to explore. Keep a dream journal, especially when it comes to that one dream. See if you can recall differences that come up in it. Are there any other similarities to the case in Wellington? Is there any chance that you had relatives that died there? I have a theory on genetically inheriting memories. And then the possibility of being influenced by a spirit in your dreams. Possibly guiding you to what they want you to know? There's definitely a lot to explore.
