This pic was taken in Galeena IL on a ghost tour. The pic was taken in a doorway up a stairway. Just put the camera in the doorway and took the pic. No one was in the doorway or upstairs at the time the pic was taken. Let me know what you think.

Hopefully the address works. Haven't been able to figure out how to post a pic yet.

To me it looks like some kind of light filtering thru something.

It's hard to see. It looks as if you have some type of markers pointing to it?

The light then goes to thin lines curves around doorway and stops at brick.

The paint looks glossy, and brick wouldn't reflect as well.

try to zoom in on the pic and look at the top of the stairs. We have looked at it several times and see a dark figure standing at the top of the stairs. When you zoom in you can see the figure blocking out the light and part of the exit sign at the top of the stairs. Looks to me like a person standing with their arm against the wall and the other hand on their hip.

I could not open anything but the small icon pic – which really doesn't tell that much ….

If you go to Photobucket you can upload your pic and then it will assign it an IMG #, copy and paste that IMG into this window and it should be easier to see.

I hate to be the "nit picker":

A. What kind of device was used to take this picture?

I'm guessing it was a cell phone based on the image size of: 320 x 240 – 72 DPI ??

Here is the problem – with this resolution … there is simply no way it can be analyzed. The very size and resolution will simply be 'brushed off' as camera flaw … ( and rightly so ) …

With all the 'scams' and such out there … photo evidence has to be seriously above average in quality and even that has to be well documented and such ….

The pic was taken with a digital camera. I have been playing with the pic to try and make it clearer. for some reason it comes up clear on my screen but will not here. It does come up clear on my phone though. I have it saved there. If you have a good smart phone maybe you can try sending it to your phone and look at it. It is very frustrating because it is a good pic, and I think good piece of evidence. Are there any other programs or ways to clean the pic up? I have been trying on photobucket but can not get it cleaned up.

Here is another link. I cropped the pic to the area of the top of the stairs and used the heat setting on photobucket. You can see the outline in dark blue and the lighter blue between the legs. This pic is also zoomed in more.

I also posted the original pic for reference.

Give Irfanview a shot. It's free to download and it's what I use to analyze my photos.

I downloaded Irfanview and loaded the pic. You are right. It does work good. And you can see what I am talking about very well on there. Now the question is how do I get that pic on here? Because that shows exactly what I am talking about.

Save it as another name like close up or something different. It should be under File as Save As… Then upload that one to photobucket and post the IMG code for it here.

That is a lot better. Definitely someone standing at the top of the stairs. You can make out a modern looking belt and you can see their right arm resting on their hip. Now the question is if it is a real person or not. To me it looks like a living breathing person. Sometimes we don't notice the things that our camera notices. But since we don't know how ghost really appear on film it's hard to say.

The thing that gets me with this pic is that you can see through both arms, and especially over the exit sign at the top. You can see that the left arm blocks out part of the light from the sign, but vyou can see the sign through part of the arm. What do you think?

And we had just got done with the tour and everyone was standing around us. That part of the building was not in use at the time the pic was taken.

From what I can tell, the left arm is not covering any part of the exit sign. As for the right arm, the reason it looks see through is that it's a Caucasian person and that is light reflecting off their skin.

Ghost tours are notoriously bad places to attempt to get evidence. For starters you are not in control of the building. Second you never know what the owners have planned. If no one gets scared or has an encounter, no one is going to come back and then profits go downward.

Again this is what I am seeing. It's just an opinion. What is best is if you could look at another photo of the same staircase and get a baseline for what is normally there.

Well there is an EXIT sigh and you can see the door behind the shadow … So I'm guessing that there was someone up there. Just because you were told, "Not in use…" does not mean there was not an employee up there.

Also there is a chance that this is a 'casted shadow' of something upstairs that looks like the shape of this.

The question I have is: Is there an EXIT sign at the top of this stairway as it seems .. or is this a reflection that is being distorted by some lights and shadows?

This was not a ghost tour put on by the building, or building owner. It was a tour of the entire downtown area. Put on by a private party. Yes there was an actual exit sign at the top of the stairs. The second and third floors of the building were not being used at all. Also we were the only ones that experienced this from the entire group. The way this picture was taken would make it very hard for this to be a shadow of someone upstairs. The light came from behind the shadow which would cause the shadow to appear on the wall directly above us. Also in that are there is a half wall at opposite end of the staircase that would block out about half the shadow if indeed that is what it is from. Also it was approximately 30 degrees the night of this tour.

I hear where you both are coming from. I too am a rough sell on paranormal pictures, and I agree that there are a lot of fakes out there. This picture really struck me though. We had some other pics with light anomalies in them that we discarded. I do not believe in orbs, or at least 99% of orb pictures. This is the first .picture I have ever said had paranormal evidence on it. I do appreciate the fed back though. Thanks for checking the pic out and letting me know your thoughts.
