Let's see, where do I start?

I grew up in the early 60's in a home in Massachusetts that had undocumented activity. Lights that would turn on and off, doors that would open and shut. Apparitions, audio anomalies.

We never had anything documented, because most of the activity was considered normal to us, we just accepted it.

My first personal experience there, was an audio anomaly of the sound of furniture being moved. My bedroom was on the second floor of the house, and my grandmother lived with us with her rooms on the second floor.

During that night we awoke to the sound of furniture being moved, dragged around, it was very loud. We assumed it was my mom and dad who had a bedroom on the first floor. We listened for a few minutes and went back to sleep. I was quite young, 8 perhaps and didn't give it much thought.

The next day, my parents asked just what it was that we were doing that we had to move furniture during the night, they had heard the exact same noises and assumed it came from us on the upstairs floor.

The second experience I had there was a physical experience. I was about 17 or 18, and I was up during the night and decided to get a drink, and go back to bed. I was in the kitchen pouring a glass of milk, when I had the classic "I'm not alone" feeling and turned around.

The door to the back room that was closed, slowly opened revealing a couple inches of dark room behind it. I took my milk and went back to bed.

I had an experience with the auditory sound of footsteps pacing above me in the middle of night in our unoccupied attic. I listened to them one night while reading and that continued for about 5 or ten minutes that night. I never heard it again.

I also saw what I believe to be an apparition. Again it was late evening, I was watching tv with my mom, my dad was asleep in bed. We heard the sound of approaching footsteps and I turned to the doorway and saw a man pass by the doorway. He looked like a person strolling by, and was not translucent like you would think an apparition would be, but a solid figure. He did not acknowledge either my mom or I he just passed by the doorway.

My mom saw it also, and assumed it was my dad. She got up to make sure he was ok, but found him asleep in bed. We still talk about that to this day. I had many objects disappear to later "re-appear" in odd places. A Coke can disappeared off my nightstand to be found months later buried between a stack of blankets stored behind my bureau.

Just odd things like that.

When I became an adult, I moved here, and never really had any experiences. My husband passed away from cancer in 2007 and his parents who occupied the second floor of our home passed two years previous to that of brain cancer, within 6 weeks of each other.

There was another death in the apartment I occupy of a former tenant before I moved here. He passed away in my living room.

When I met my fiancee and he moved in here with us, we had met on a paranormal forum and shared an interest in the paranormal.

He is much more technical than I and when he moved out here, he brought recorders and other equipment. We decided one night to either go to dinner or go to a local cemetery to try and capture EVP.

We set one of the recorders on his table not sure if it would work properly as we had two other recorders on us, and left. When we returned, he checked the recorder to see if it was working properly, and to our astonishment had a class A EVP. The voice is recorded between our conversations and discussions on plans for that evening, and says "Don't do that".

After that we decided one night to seriously pursue research into what we may have in our home. So we set out the recorders an Olympus and a Sony, and recorded. We had from that night alone, over 29 class B and A Evps on that recording. And have consistently gotten EVP on each recorded session. We currently have files with close to 100 EVP's.

Some of the EVP's give their names. One says "My name is Jason and I'm the (something) here, and my name is Jeremy. We have female voices, a Spanish speaking EVP, a child and two males.

They use our names and interact in cognitive time with our son and my elderly mom and with us.

They ask for help, are sometimes amusing. One recorded clip has me coughing followed by a class b saying "Amy, get a drink".

We are not sure what these voices are, as we can't prove they are actual spirits, but we feel they are. We continue to record and to document.

We have recently had incidents with our lights being turned on at odd times, and my fiance has seen shadows in our bedroom, two, one the approximate height of a child, one about the height of a full grown male. They have not interacted with him, and I personally have never seen them.

Research continues and we love the fact that we seem to have some amazing activity right here in our home.

Very cool, AmyLynn!

I want to hang out at your house.

Thanks everyone, we are working on developing our website and the EVP will be posted up on it when the site is ready.

It is cool, that we get this many EVP, I just wish I knew what it was that they wanted.

Ok, now that the investigation of the Olde Gin House is complete

I can tell the entire story. I moved to this island three years ago.

When I arrived here I spent the first year getting to know the place

and getting settled. One evening I took some time off to sit down

and have a drink at the Olde Gin House. I was the only customer there

and the servers were sitting talking when I came in. I ordered a drink and sat

down on the stairs directly accross from them to chat for awhile. While I was sitting

on the small wooden stairs a large force hit me in the back of my head and caused me to

drop down a whole step. Both of the servers saw this happen and one ran from the bar.

The other explained what had just happened to me.

She explained that the whole hotel is haunted and began to explain the history of the

place to me. She also explained that the one entity or "Jumby" as she calls them, had just

shown extreme displeasure with me for sitting on his steps. It was at this time I realized that I

had to get my equipment and investigate this place.

I wasn't able to get the permission of the current managers at the time of the random head kicking

incident so I waited. In the mean time I sought out stories and other haunted places on the island

to investigate.

Just recently the management changed hands at the Olde Gin House and I was able this year to get permission

for my last investigation. The investigation only turned up one EVP of footsteps on the second floor. No

photographic evidence of any kind. However two hours before the investigation began I was taking

preliminary photos in the same room when I felt a burning sensation on the top of my head toward the

back left side. I walked across the street to where my equipment was and found that an egg sized lump had formed

on my skull. Once again the server told me she didn't think the " Jumby" in the bar liked me at all.

I had no way at all to record either incident but it was the personal paranormal experience of

my lifetime so far. I'm thinking of wearing a Cricket helmet if I decide to investigate this place any further.

Woa! Jon! That is very intense. I'd say you were brave to even go back to that location after getting kicked in the head by an angry ghost.

Great work investigating!

Very cool. Although it's never a pleasure getting kicked in the head, this is one time I'm sure you were more than happy to be.

Ok here's a kind of new experience, though I'm still trying to see if there are any other explanations. Let's see what you guys think. I just moved into a new house and was cleaning up some stuff the last tenants left. I was standing in my room looking at the closet and all of a sudden I felt a pull on my hair. I figured it was just my bag as it sometimes catches it and pulls it down. But when I turned my head to look my hair was standing up and away from my head.

I got kinda freaked to say the least. I looked in my hair, on the ground and from the ceiling for a spiderweb or anything that could have pulled it up and found nothing. I wasn't sure if a spiderweb could do it even. It was a big chunk of hair and I wasn't walking or moving. So I kept cleaning and moved a few things in and started feeling things. So I smudged the house and did a blessing. I didn't realize there was an attic so I didn't do that part oops….. Anyway it calmed down mostly but still felt something. I moved in my stuff and cleaned the house. I had been hearing some footsteps and doors in the kitchen but nothing big.

My mom's boyfriend did a (I'm blanking on the name right now shame on me) but its when you test the electrical output or something on the handheld meter. I wish my brain would work. Anyway he said nothing hi no big deal. Ok. Well since then things have ramped up a bit. I feel someone touching me, hear footsteps in the attic over my head, crashes and bangs in the house. At first I thought the noises were my animals so I did a test. I put them up every night so they can't roam and I still hear the noises.

My dogs will bark and growl at air or walls and my cats will hiss and scratch at air or walls (this is not in their behavior normally). Or the dogs will go up to something sit and just stare, not moving. The cats and sometimes the dogs will go running from something, sometimes whimpering. My big dog will jump up and bark and growl as she is the protector but at air. My shy dog will run and cower behind things, my other dog will randomly pick her head up bark or growl. The cats will run from nothing. I hear more door sounds and I know they cant be. It sounds like someone is banging on my back door in my gated back yard but when I look no one is there.

Things get moved around in my laundry room, my room, the living room. During the day but it picks up at night loud footsteps in any room I'm not in even if Iv just left it. Huge crashes and bangs. Loud footsteps over my head in the attic. Again when either my animals are with me in the same room or put up for the night so I know it cannot be them and they cant get into the attic. Iv heard rodents and possums even raccoons in attics and this doesn't sound like any of them.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Advice? Oh and randomly windows wont stay open. I have one that never does but the other ones have just begun giving me problems but only after they go up and stay they will just come down. I'll add if new things happen as new things keep popping up but right now this is it.

(2) don’t ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don’t smoke or drink,

(7) don’t want to wear your clothes,

(8) don’t have to buy the latest fashions,

(9) don’t need a gazillion dollars for college and

Looks like another trip is in order. You might want to ask the owner if there has been this kind of activity before and we'll go from there. From my understanding, the former tenants had lived there for 8 years, and then moved out abruptly. We need to find out the reason behind this, maybe they experienced what you are going through, and had just had enough.

In addition, we'll bring a small stepladder next time we are over, and I'll go with you up into the attic (if we can even get up there), and we will finish the smudging.

That's what they said when I moved and that they moved to seattle is why they left but I keep getting mail from them and the landlord is saying they are coming asking for it hmmm……not sure who they are (previous tenants?). I assumed hurry since as I told you guys there was some furniture left that was then sent to them. I'm most likely not getting the whole story. When I drop off the new mail that I have gotten I'm going to casually drop a question about it. Maybe ask the history. I might also look around and see about the houses past…..never know what could pop up /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I think an EVP session is in order. With the pets present, we'd have to eliminate any noises that we pick up and only give clear voices (other than ours) weight as evidence.

Well the pets can easily be placed outside and away from the area. Like I do to make sure it's not there noise. They aren't vocal.

Quick update since I said I would. Now I am hearing whispers in my ear when I am fully awake and touching, again when I am fully awake. More noises and the animals have really been acting up. This morning I was watching a movie on my computer and paused it to the bathroom. As I got to the hall, the movie began playing. I went back to pause it and as I got to the doorway it paused. I stood there for a minute to listen if it had really stopped or was just a silent part of the movie and didn't hear anything for many 30 seconds. Turned around and it began playing again. No animals were near it to hit the play/ pause button. They were all in a different room. I was watching another movie last night and it began to get dark, I was thinking I should turn on the light but was very into the movie so I was waiting. After about a minute of thinking about it the light turned on by itself. A few other things have happened but I was either asleep or half asleep so I cannot count them in completely. All the old stuff is still going on as well.

I've needed to wait a few weeks before posting this. My sister in law died on October 16th in Fort Worth. She had an incurable disease that attacked her heart and she collapsed on October 9th. She was without a heart beat when the paramedics arrived and she was placed on life support. She was completely unresponsive and settled into a deeper vegetative state as the week went on. We went to TX as soon as we could. We arrived on October 15th and visited her in the hospital as soon as we could. As we were in the room that night, I could feel that she was standing next to me. She wasn't in her body at the time, I believe, because I could feel her zip around the room. I could feel her smile or frown when someone bent over her to wipe her mouth, depending on who it was. I saw her in my head and she was smiling and laughing with her palms facing me. There was a medallion like white light behind her and she was wearing lavender. She looked healthy. Later, I asked my husband's niece what was Bertha's favorite color and Melissa said purple, light purple. I talked to Bertha a bit and said that I hoped she would be okay with what was going to happen because her husband planned to take her off of life support the next morning. The next morning was brutal and she labored to breathe on her own and she did, for about three hours. Then everything slowed down and stopped. That was Friday. On Sunday, my husband and I attended mass at her church. As we were leaving, I heard a distinct whispered 'thank you' in my left ear. There was no one behind me at the time.

Eh, I got nothin'

Thank you for sharing that difficult, yet moving, experience.

My condolences on your loss.

I'm sure this was so difficult for you to share, like GettysburgLady said, and I appreciate you taking the time to share such a pesronal, touching moment with us. It is so hard to let go of the physical, and though it doesn't take away the sadness within our hearts, it is good to know, comforting…that when they have passed they are happy, healthy and lively. I'm sure she will be watching over you and the rest of the family.

My condolences to you and yours.

*hugs*

Nothing really strange has ever really happened to me but this is something that happened not too long ago. It was after I started school so it must have been in September or October, I don't remember the exact date.

I was in bed "sleeping" but I was kind of awake at the same time. I felt like I was having a dream where my mom was talking to me but for some reason I couldn't answer her, all I could do was make a really quiet noise. After that I sort of realized that I couldn't move and it was like I was paralyzed and I was really scared. I got really nervous like I'd just had a nightmare. Then I guess I "woke up" but I didn't really and I kept thinking that nothing is holding me and I can move if I want to but I never did move and I eventually fell back "asleep". I kept saying to myself that all I have to do is move my leg and that'll break whatever the heck was happening but I never did move my body.

So I don't know what happened but it was strange and I've never experienced anything like that before. I can't remember if I opened my eyes or not or what time it was because I never moved when it was happening. I think I must have been dreaming but it felt like I was awake.

And you could have it all, my empire of dirt

I will let you down, I will make you hurt

Opening email today, and I get the usual garbage, when I came across a letter from

a lonely Russian woman proposing blah, blah, blah! Well the picture was open in the email

so naturally I looked at it and this is what I saw. Look to the left of the cats ear inside the

doorway set back a little. Looks like mist below the cat and a then the face ! Not worth

anything since I know nothing about the picture. Still fun to look at ! I think my priorities

may be a little out of whack! LMAO

I may be wrong, but there is a bookshelf behind the lady with the cat, and there are lots of other things she has displayed on that shelf, looks like little shot-bottles of liquor. Anyway, you can see the front edge of the bookcase/display case, and where the "glowing image" you see is located, looks like that might be a "crystal-style door knob," the clear/see-through type, and when the camera flashed, the light went through the door knob and shot those little round points of light all over the door. I took my big magnifying glass to the photo, and that looks like what might have caused it.

Just a suggestion.
