Okay – well first .. off .. the gal has to prove that there is a valid PSI ability there. One from Unexplain Mysteries – did prove to me and my fellow skeptics that she was exactly as she claimed with no excuses and no generics and such.

Is it fully scientific … sometimes on the NET you cannot do a "Lab Protocol Test" … but the real deal does not hide behind "spirituality" – "generics" – "I have nothing to prove to you." and other L.A.E.'s

Then when they start to have a higher then usual 'wrong answers' – I'll PM or just right up front as .. "Is it that time of the month or within a few days of it?" The answer is usually — > "YES! OMG, I didn't even think about that!" Then after it 'passes' .. the error rate goes significantly DOWN.

Do I expect 100% … NO! But it has to be better then 50/50 .. that amounts to random guessing. I expect (my own standard) a ratio of better then 70%.

On the internet you cannot do "Science Lab Protocols" … but there are protocols that you can set and yes, you have to rely on the INTEGRITY of the person to be straight and honest … and before I get to the point of 'working/testing' you usually know by then if the person is an Emotionally Subjective Psi … or the "Real Deal".

I understand what you are saying. My point is that, if a supposed psychic proves their ability to say "you" or "the others"in your group as "the real deal" these are your personal experiences with physchic, which is fine. In other words you have your own personal standards to gage their ability.

But, still not a gage that psychic ability exsists scientifically. "Real Deal"

In other words just personal standards maybe, on being read.

I don't have any experience in this field, my gut is telling me though, everyone may have individual standards on what they would except as a valid read, or the " real deal".

Never been read before, and have never sought out to be read, excect for that gypsy many years ago, and she didn't count. lol

I totally and completely understand where you are coming from – but also on the flip side of that if you know (which you don't and I understand this too) … I'm not easily impressed …. it takes some to impress me. I'm known as a Tough S.O.B. and yea I am ….

As one person put it – if you impressed Jj, then well you must have something going." I can count the people that have impressed me on one hand and maybe 4 fingers .. possibly 5 … but that's it.

I'll be honest – even S.T. has not impressed me *yet* … but I'm going a little more the 'extra mile' then I usually do.

But at some point if the "Strike Outs" continue -> She is going to have to evaluate what is going on? This may, I just don't know, but possibly reveal a truth and fact that will be hard to understand.

While I do tend to be very skeptical of people claiming they are capable of "remote viewing" and psychic readings, you've handled yourself very well here and I respect that. I don't know if I'm really open for a reading- I have had psychics approach me and randomly tell me things that were in fact very accurate, but I always get a little freaked out about letting people near my personal space- be it psychic or otherwise lol.

I do wonder, though, that, as JJB said, there are many factors that can cause the ability to be muddled or blocked- like, for instance, in women(I've actually heard about the 2-4 days before/after things, too). But I also think that some people are harder to "read" than others. It is an easy excuse for a psychic fraud to use, but just because liars use excuses, doesn't mean all excuses are lies- does that make sense? /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':blink:' />

Anywho- so, ST, what's your backstory? How did you come to believe you were psychic in this kind of way? And is your ability only limited to reading people?

And a question for the masses- like ST, I've seen other psychics who say "I can only read you if you give me permission." and yet, there are others who clearly just walk up to people and give a reading at random. Any insight, anyone?

I've been investigating this for easily and I do mean easily since I was a teenager and even slightly before pre-teen. So hey take that I'm 56 years odd and at least 40+ of those years have been more then just looking – for very personal reasons – ya, I have a lot of triva and understanding and stories. One tends to build a 'library' after 40+ years. /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Gads – I just counted of 40 years without a blink! /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

But yes – see I don't see Psi ablities as "spiritual" – if they are "spiritual" then a whole different set of rules apply. IF they are genetic, then physical conditions will have a cause and effect in them, as they would in any part of our lives.

As for the "hard to read" – yes that is abused by fakes … but what I look for is …"Just how many people are 'hard to read'? IF it proves more then not – they use this 'line' -- well … then …. Plus add to it – how do they present it? That tells a lot too.

I already posted that the only time psychics have been able to read me successfully is when they walk up to me and take me by surprise. I have no idea what that means, though. Is it me or the psychic??? What has your experience been with psychics, if any, if you don't mind sharing. Do they find you hard to read? I'm curious because we always seemed to have similar experiences. You obviously don't have to answer my nosy question but I am very interested. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I think genetics must have a lot to do with psychic abilities, or psi, or whatever you want to call it since it so often runs in families. I personally believe that people's brains are just "wired" differently because of their genes, or maybe some brains have active areas linked to psi skills left over from before we had language, etc. that are dormant in the rest of us. That might explain why some people become "psychic" after a physical trauma. Maybe the chemicals released by the body after a physical trauma can somehow activate something in the brain the way doctors theorize that the continuous release of cortisol during extreme stress can trigger a dormant gene for depression or anxiety. But who knows? Certainly not me.

So far it's all guesses. No one even knows what causes bipolar disorder or schizophrenia yet and there's big money to be had in unlocking that mystery, so it's probably going to be a long time before we have any real answers about psi. Sigh…

Love it, JJB! And I absolutely agree. And I never thought about how the rules really do change if we're dealing with spiritual prediction ect. but you're absolutely correct. Your typical Psi ability definitely seems to be passed down. I can see it in my very own family, and even see how people inherit different levels of it- just like intelligence, common sense, critical thinking, math skills, writing abilities- some are better than others.

So- any insight to my other question? Why do some "psychics" say they need permission to read you while others just go ahead and do it?

…Anyone?
