Long exposure time plus the light coming in the door and bouncing between the mirrors/pictures on both sides of the hall.......

Night mode and auto mode in low light conditions give all kinds of crazy pics......

The second and third pictures look like a simply reflection off something, which leads me to believe the "mist" is a similar anomaly, because it's in the same place and there is a lot of light coming in that door, which can be seen bouncing off many of the objects in that room.

Also, the "mist" looks very similar to something my group caught on one investigation, which turned out to be light from our camera bouncing off of a laminated poster in the hallway.

The shutter speed on the first one was 1/4 second. The second one was 1/2 second and the third one was 1/2.5 seconds.

I see motion blur on the last two. As for the green mist, I don't know about that camera model in particular but mine has a little green LED light that turns on and it reminds me of that.

One factor I find interesting is that according to the EXIF data of all three photos, the flash was not used. The light anomalies are consistent with flash-based phenomena, but obviously this wasn't the case here. My question would then be is the backlight from the entrance enough to illuminate afocal particulate matter (dust, etc..) enough to make it visible? I honestly do not know, but it is interesting.

Hm. Well some look like light anomalies to me. The mist seems to line up and be similar in shape to the reflection on what appears to be a mantel across the hallway. There is also significant motion blur in each of the shots, making it very likely that anomalies are related to motion blur. There is also what appears to be a hair in the upper left corner of one of the shots. It looks fairly dark in the room with light coming in from outside. If it is a digital camera set on auto, it is very likely that the camera would have difficulty focusing, which can lead to all kinds of anomalies and artifacts in photos.

Someone recently wrote in to Paranormal Underground for an opinion on some photos they took that they felt had some anomalies in them.

Here's the story:

These photos were taken in Jim Thorpe, PA, by a woman who visited the site with her boyfriend. While there, the woman took 3 consecutive photos from the back doorway of the Harry Packer mansion. She says that the Harry Packer mansion is known for being the model house for the Haunted Mansion in Disney World.

The weather was warm, about 70 degrees.

Here is what the photographer of the pictures said:

"I just cant figure out what this green mist would be. The photos I took immediately after have some shadows around the area, but nothing like the first one. I thought the white mist could be a lamp when I was taking it, but it turned out, it wasnt. I also attached a picture of Harry's father, Asa because the green mist photo looks like a profile of him, but sort of walking by...almost like 3 profiles as if he were walking by. Another photo also has that same green mist near the bottom of the chair."

What do you think? The photographer is looking for some feedback on the pictures, especially the one with the "green mist."
