The last story, this woman was a real, living woman, not a spirit. I think she came in with her family, and was perhaps angry with one of them, but I could literally feel it coming off her in waves. If I hadn't been working, I would have moved away. But as I sat there shelf reading, I found myself unconsciously leaning away from her.

They can choose places that have had meaning to them in their physical life, either peaceful or traumatic places, some of the very religious peoples spirits travel directly into the light because that is what they practiced and believed in life on earth. Obviously these spirits were attached to the library.

I worked in the local library for a year, and over the course of that year, I had a few odd things happen.

The very first odd thing that happened to me at the library was seeing a full bodied apparition. I was shelving some VHS tapes and out of the corner of my right eye, I saw this woman wearing a bright pink sweater just standing there staring at me. After a full minute or so of her staring at me, I decided to ask if she need any help. I turned to ask her. No one was there. I looked around for anything pink or similar in color to what she had been wearing; maybe my eyes had just played tricks on me. There was nothing that could have been mistaken for a person.

On several occasions, I felt weird energy shifts go through the library. I have tried to connect these with the window placement or doors opening/closing, but none of it ever matched these changes.

The next thing that happened occurred when I was back in the non-fiction section. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone at the end of the row of books. I didn't think anything of it, it was just someone looking at the books. I turn in their direction, and no one was there. I had seen a pale yellow shirt, so I looked for anything that color that could have made me think I saw a person. Nothing.

Then, one day I was walking down the aisle between the fiction and non-fiction sections, and I saw a person hiding behind one of the shelves, as if they were waiting to jump out at someone. Now, it looked like an older person, and I thought to myself how immature some people are. I went to round the corner, trying to catch them before they could jump out. I rounded the corner quickly, and was startled when no one was there. I stood there for a couple of minutes with my heart racing before I regained my composure and went about my duties.

Another evening, I was straightening in the back of the fiction section, and I looked over, toward the aisle between fiction and non-fiction. There was the figure of a person, but just the shadow. And it was not my shadow. At this point I had worked in the library long enough to know that the lights in there do not cast shadows. It made no sense, yet there it was. I stared at it for about a minute before it dissipated most of the way, but it left a lighter imprint for a couple more minutes after that.

Later that same evening, I was shelving some new books. I happened to glance up at the genealogy/first row of non-fiction section. A man in a grey-blue suit with a muted blue shirt and a hat that matched the suit stepped out from behind the end of the first row of non-fiction and into the genealogy section. This wouldn’t have been odd if he hadn’t moved so quickly and if he hadn’t stepped forward them immediately back, fading as he stepped back behind the shelves. With tons of people in the library at the computers behind me, I stood there dumbstruck for at least two full minutes. That was probably the clearest apparition I had seen at that point. I then searched for anyone wearing that outfit. No one fit the description and the only person back in that section was a younger guy wearing really baggy jeans and a really baggy t-shirt.

One other thing that happened to me at the library was that I was sitting in one of the aisles doing some shelf reading (making sure the books were in order) and this woman came up and starting looking at books right next to me. All of a sudden I was hit with this…wave of rage. I could feel it radiating from her, and I knew that it wasn’t my emotion because I had been fine before and I had no reason to be angry.

I don’t know if the library was haunted, or if these occurrences happened due to me being a sensitive, but what I do know is that they certainly made me think, and also that I will never forget these strange experiences.
