Humming, I certainly have been in places that had that effect on me. I would never have made it through the entire tour...I would have been beating the bricks from the minute the first hair stood up on my arm!

Don't know about the door closing in the bathroom, but we do have light fixtures that will turn themselves on (the type that have flourescent tube bulbs in them...my mom is the only one who can get them to come on first try).

Some places (I believe) can carry over energy long after the source of that energy is gone. I just recently sent MysticalKnight a pm about that same sort of thing. I was up late on the forum and I got an overwhelming sense of despair. I was the only one up and the whole house took on a feeling of sadness. After analyzing the feeling, I realized that the feelings weren't mine, but that I was experiencing them second hand. Something I had never experienced in that house and it was really strange to say the least.

Humming it sounds as if you are dead on about houses absorbing energy.

Best case in point is when a relative of mine died. After the funeral we all

went back to her house and it just wasn't the same. I had grown up there and

the house always had the same feel, smell and air about it. When I walked in,

as I had a thousand times before, everything was different. So different as to

make it uncomfortable. There was no doubt in my mind that it wasn't the same

place anymore. If a persons passing could take away energy imagine what a

hairy divorce or tragedy could charge a place with. Just my thoughts!

I am currently house hunting. There was a house that realtor had sent me listing to view on line, it had no pictures of the inside of house and she did not have any history of it when she sent it to me. The house looks ok from outside but being honest here it just did not seem right. We did the usual drive by and I still had that real uneasy something wrong feeling. But my family insisted that I should at least go in and see it. So I gave in today and said ok (despite my gut saying bad idea). The other houses she had lined up for me to look at I had no problem with at all. When the realtor go there to take us into the house, she said she was not comfortable with it, I had not said a word to her about how I felt. She had never been in, not her companies listing, she got key from the company who is selling the property. She goes to unlock door and she jumped back and I said are you ok, I thought maybe she had bumped her arm or something and she looked really rattled and said she as ok. It was the most oppresvie place I have ever been in. You would had to have been in there. It felt all wrong. Everything in my head was saying turn around go out. I did not feel safe or secure in there at all and it was not because of the mess. I did not say anything. The place was also an absolute mess (did not help matters), the power did not work in most rooms. all the carpets and floors tore up, walls with holes, huge scrapping and marks on the doors. it was not undergoing renovation, she said she found out right before she got there from other realtor there was a bad divorce going on. I believe that. Must have been heck of a fight. You can just feel the bad energy in the place. I wonder now if all the bad karma had an impact on the place. She said other realtor had said it needs some TLC. She was not happy with that other realtor. It needs a complete overhaul. The basement (you know how basements can be) was extremely bad, it was very uncomfortable, I have been in many dark basements but none made me feel like this. It was way worst up on second floor, we went up those stairs and you would have thought it was like amityville, looked it and felt it. I did not say anything but I just wanted to leave so bad. It was extermely heavy and felt like a huge wt on you. My brother (who is in his 30's, brought him along because he knows houses/has done appraisals, etc) had to leave the house. He did not say anything till we got in the car. He is not scared of anything, most level headed skeptical person you would ever meet. He told me later he could not deal with it, same things I was feeling, oppresive, like a huge weight, heaviness and upstairs was what did it for him, so uncomfortable that he had to leave it right away, the bedroom up there in particular. There was this one bedroom, that had a bed left it in, it was made but the whole bed was cockeyed (hard to explain). But that upstairs was really not right. Just this real dark ominous feeling. I have never encountered anything like this before. When I left house and we left property the realtor told me she was glad to leave there she said it had made her so uncomfortable especially the basement, did not like it at all. the whole house had a bad smell which did not help either, it was like you know how rotten eggs smell especially upstairs, the place has no gas, it has electric heat and central air. Maybe it has plumbing issues? the way it looked would not surprise me. One other thing in it while we were all upstairs, the bathroom on first floor light came on at some point. We had not turned it on when we had been down there, I checked with everybody. But when we came back down it was on and door was shut. The owners were not there while we were there doing the viewing. Nobody there but us. I dont know just one of those things. I just had to write this down as it really disturbed me and it sure helps to talk about it. I went on to another house and it was fine, way better. I have more houses to look at next week and they look nice (crosses fingers). Have you been in a place that felt really oppressive? Thanks for listening.
