Thread to share information about places that each of us may have already traveled to so we can help each other out.

For example, I'm heading to Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA in a couple of months. Wondering if anyone has been there before, and if so, can you recommend some things to definitely do and some things to definitely avoid?

Thanks!

This would be really cool! I'm thinking of taking Sammy to NYC around Christmas

and I know he'd at least like a good haunted tour. I haven't been there since 1982.

Was there a few years ago. Could not find a haunted tour per say, but explanations of hauntings were touched on in general tours of a building.

We have visited many times, but it was the first time we took some tours.

Empire State Building Tour, touched on hauntings. Many suicides, form this building. We were told NYC, has the highest number of suicides, sad.

The Dakota is supposed to be haunted, talked to doorman he had a story, but not about John Lennon.

The Algonquin Hotel, is historic and many claims of hauntings.

We stayed there. Lots of history, here. Beautiful old building!

The NBC studio tour guide touched on hauntings for the SNL studio, you go to other NBC studios, also. First time I was there, enjoyed it.

Belushi, and Farley were mentioned.

There are probably haunted tours, I just found none in what we decided to tour.

We lived in S.C for many years and we love Charleston. There are several historical places there that are worth seeing and most they tout as haunted, though

I've never seen any evidence of that. The old jail and dungeon are both worth checking out as well as the old cemeteries. The place is rich in history and is alive with southern charm so I hope you enjoy your time there.

I have an idea that the phrase "weaker sex" was coined by some woman to disarm some man she was preparing to overwhelm. ~Ogden Nash

Excellent. Thank you. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures/recordings and post any findings…

Charleston is a really cool city, make sure to check out the Yorktown (decomissioned carrier, along with other ships) at Patriot's Point. We didn't hear about hauntings but the paranormal tv shows seem to think all old Navy vessels are haunted!
