OfflineYou can find a ghost tour in almost every city in the country these days. Here in Gettysburg, at last count, there are 14 tours operating in town. For the most part, they are fun and entertaining. If you are lucky, you may even learn a bit about the history of the area you are visiting.
I am constantly asked, almost on a daily basis, what is the best "ghost tour" in Gettysburg.
Tell us about a tour you have been on, in a city you have visited, and what you experienced, if anything. Were the stories interesting? Was the tour guide well informed? Would you recommend it to others visiting the area?

OfflineWe have Appalachian Ghostwalks in our area. Supposed to be a really good company, but I haven't had the opportunity to check them out yet.

OfflineI went to the Queen Mary Ghost tour in Long Beach, it's close to where I live. It was a huge dissapointment to tell you the truth. It was too expensive and the tour was short and not worth while. The paranormal database they had there was down when I went too, with no discounts for the tour tickets because of it. Also the guide directly lied to us. Has anyone seen the episode of "Ghosts Hunters" when they went to the Queen Mary? If so, you will know they discovered someone had tampered with their footage. The tour guide claimed that they had caught some great real footage that night and they didn't.
OfflineOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!! Maybe you can get into the Whaley House in Old Town San Diego. They have ghost tours.

I also went to that one- many many years ago. It's the reason why I believe in ghosts today. If there is any where on earth that is haunted it's that place. It still scares me just to talk about what happened to me there. But trust me when I say that place has ghosts!
I've always wanted to go back and face my fears actually. I was going to do it last summer but wasn't able to, maybe this summer I will. It's not too far away, just a long car ride.

Mandy Roth and I interviewed Stacy McGee on our radio show last year, the guy in charge of Appalachian Ghostwalks. They have a lot of tours listed on their site. If anyone is interested, here's the website: http://www.appalachianghostwalks.com/ /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

OfflineExcellent! Don't forget to give us the scoop!
I'm interested because of all the ghost tours here in Gettysburg. I have refrained from telling everyone what they do here because I'm interested in seeing how they are run in other locations.
Thanks!
Carolyn
I've been to the Winchester Mystery House in CA. It's interesting and the tour was pretty much like any museum guided tour. I won't go into all of it because PUG just had that great article that explained what goes on there. Mrs Winchester was a shorter woman and a lot of the things, like the fancy tile shower and stairwells custom made for her size. The tour guide was knowledgeable but we didn't have any weird feelings or experiences there when we went.

Do you still do a radio show?
OfflineThanks Michelle!
Do you still do a radio show?
We used to do live weekly online radio shows, but have cut back due to our schedule. Now it's every other week. The live show will be two years in Oct. Before that, it was pre-recorded podcasts. It's been a lot of fun learning how it all works.

WOW Michelle! They certainly do have a lot of tours listed on their site and they cover quite a large area of Tennessee. Thanks for sharing that.
