I think you all are right about my daughter not being the direct cause of the activity but that some how this negative energy is feeding off of her and getting the strength to manifest. She is in eighth grade and she has been stressing out about all the tests and entrance exams she is going to have to take for the high schools she's interested in going to.

I forgot to mention that in the past when I cleansed or smudged, I would ask it to leave. I would always say " Whoever or whatever you are you must leave. You don't belong here because Love and God lives in this house" and I would keep on saying it until the end of the cleansing or smudging.

I am very open to the Feng Sui Master(will keep in mind), but I might start off with a priest. I am Roman Catholic and I think maybe because it's my religion it might have a stronger impact on the negative energy.

I read somewhere that if your house is in disarray it might breed disarray(Feng Sui). So right now I am cleaning out everything in my home. Whatever I have not used in the last year I have donated to Good Will. I cleaned out all my closets and main living areas. I just have two bedrooms to go and once that it done I was thinking on having a priest come in and do a house blessing(fingers crossed).

Milomilford-thanks for the idea. I am thinking of having a camcorder record every night while I sleep until I get something on tape(unless it's gone because of the priest). I will keep everyone posted on whats going on.

It definitely sounds like your daughter's stress may be giving this spirit all the energy it needs in order to manifest enough to frighten you. I hope you don't mind, but I am going to give you some advice because I went thru this not long ago myself and I remember how it feels. IMHO, you shouldn't wait to get the Priest in. The fact that this thing is coming into your bedroom and scaring you indicates that it isn't nice and since you are Roman Catholic you are going to feel so much much better after the priest blesses your house. You shouldn't have to be fearful one minute longer than is absolutely necessary. Do you think you'll have any trouble finding a priest who will do the blessing? It's not like you're asking him for an exorcism or something like that, right? I went with a feng shui expert because I'm Methodist and my church doesn't really have a handle on the paranormal like the Catholic church does.

I truly felt that a huge burden had been lifted from my shoulders after my house was cleansed. I didn't realize how afraid I really was until it was all over. Like you, I have had paranormal experiences since I was young but whatever was in my house that time was something new to me and very, very scary. It felt so great to have an expert take charge. I hope you get to that good feeling ASAP. Believe me, you will feel so much better when the Priest leaves and so will your daughter.

You could always get the priest to bless your house to get rid of the dark mass and then you can smudge it yourself after the house is clean to get the chi flowing again. The clutter may have created some stale energy in the house but I truly don't think it could create the dark entity. The feng shui lady told me to open all the doors and windows of my house between 11 am and 1 pm every day for a week after she left to let the bad energy out and to invite positive energy in, so you might try that after you smudge. I still randomly open the house up for a few hours every day and it really does make the house feel spiritually fresher (and it smells great, too).

I had to laugh about your friends' reactions! People who haven't had experiences of their own either can't believe you or choose not to believe you because it scares them. Even my husband who has had lots of experience over the years with the paranormal still balked at the idea that I saw a giant manta ray shaped shadow thing in the kitchen. No one wants to believe that there are really scary things out there and who can blame them?

Thank God for this site. One of the ladies on here had actually seen something very similar. What are the odds? It totally changed my life to find out that someone else had seen that thing - it just seemed so crazy! When she told me that she had exactly the same impressions about it I could have cried. It felt so good to have some reinforcement.

The point I'm trying to make in my usual long-winded way is that this is a great place to tell your stories because a lot of us have had the same experiences and even if we haven't we will still believe you. Plus I for one really enjoy hearing other people's stories.

Like KuriusKat said- just be sure whatever help you seek feels right to you. Many paranormal groups that label themselves professionals are really just a bunch of hacks. And understand that if this black mass is a particularly negative entity, it may take several attempts to fully get rid of it.

I and my daughter have been living in my current apartment for the last thirteen years. I have been experiencing paranormal activity since I moved in but it always has been very subtle. In the last 15 months it has been very active. When I go to sleep and the lights are off and my eyes adjust to the darkness of the room, I sometimes see this dark mass (kind of like a cloud) just hoovering at the top of my bedroom ceiling. It kind of reminds me of a rain cloud billowing. I get so scared that I just close my eyes and start to pray. I will open my eyes off and on to see if it is still there and it always is, so on the nights that it happens I end up praying myself to sleep. I have seen a black orb during the day and/or the night time that would just zoom by and I would just catch a glimpse of it in the corner of my eye. I constantly hear noises when I am trying to go to sleep. When I get up to see what it is I can't find the source and I always check to see if it is my cats but they are sleeping on the couch.

What makes me more scared than anything is that my thirteen yr old daughter has admitted to me this week that the same things have been happening to her. The mass cloud, black orb, and hearing noises when she sleeps.

I have two cats that are very lazy and not aggressive at all but sometimes not very often, one of them will get very freaked and start to hiss and growl at the ceiling. It has has happened to both of them but not at the same time.

I have smudged my home with white sage and did a house cleansing with holy water and incense and both worked to drive out the negative energy temporarily. It would always come back within 6-8 months. When it did return it made it's presence known(I and my daughter would get severe headaches and doctors could not find a cause). I will keep smudging and doing house cleanings but I just hope it's not bidding its time and waiting to bring the negativity up a notch.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I do also wonder about the "teen energy" aspect of spirit activity/poltergeist activity when it ramps up like that.

I don't really think teens create the activity per se, but maybe present something that is already there with some extra energy that "it" might need to manifest, etc.

But my thoughts on that theory go back and forth.

The cats hissing at the ceiling when nothing is there is definitely freaky to say the least.

I also think that because this presence is frightening you, that you might consider asking a paranormal group to investigate or seek out some other type of help.

Welcome to the site. I am a newbie myself and came to this forum with a very similar problem to yours. There was a dark and very negative-feeling entity in my house and those of us who lived in the house were experiencing stomach disorders and headaches. My house had been cleared successfully before I came here but I was desperate to find someone else who might have seen something similar. Thank goodness I did find someone like that. It really helped to know that I was not alone.

First of all, it is interesting to note that your daughter is 13 and the problems began about 15 months ago. Often activity begins or picks up when there is an adolescent girl in the house. Some people say that the girl herself creates the activity via telekinetic energy but I don't believe that is always true. I think that somehow a girl that age creates energy that attracts entities and that she acts as a power supply for them. That's just my theory, but it is based on personal experience.

Have you asked the entity to leave? If you have and it still hangs around or if you are too afraid to do so then I recommend that you get some professional help. Whatever feels comfortable to you is fine, whether it's a priest, a minister or a feng shui master. Be sure it's someone that you have confidence in - the whole point is to feel like you are not alone and that someone knows what they are doing. You don't want to poke the wasp's nest with a stick if you aren't confident that you can kill the wasps.

In the end, you and your daughter should feel comfortable in your own home. If your choices are to be alone and afraid or to bring in help, I'd vote for getting help. My experience with a feng shui master was excellent. The whole point of feng shui is to create positive energy and remove negative energy so it made sense to me but do what feels right to you.
