What happened, if you don't mind my asking?

I never go into bad places because I have this mental image of bringing some unhappy spirit home with me - I know from personal experience that ghosts can travel for at least short periods of time. Some people say that you can forbid spirits to follow you, but I can't believe that someone who is haunting a prison, for example, would pay any more attention to rules when they are dead than they did when they were living. And a psychotic ghost? Just what every house needs.

Well, my experience luckily wasn't of the 'psychotic', but it was crazy and creepy nonetheless. I'm thinking I'm going to post it as a new topic. I'm pretty sure I've shared it one other time to some extent, but I think it was on the ghost hunters forum a while ago.

Couldn't agree with you more on that one! My biggest fear ever about "ghost hunting" was that happening. And of course my first ghost hunt quickly became my last because that's exactly what happened. Hands down one of the most frightening experiences ever to happen to me.

No prisons or mental hospitals, though. Who wants to risk a ghost from one of those places following you home?

That being said Baleroy Mansion in Chestnut Hill, PA has always fascinated me. I probably wouldn't be able to resist a chance to join an investigation there since those ghosts seem to be pretty much tied to the house. No prisons or mental hospitals, though. Who wants to risk a ghost from one of those places following you home? And battlefields are just too heart breaking. I used to tour Civil War battlefields with my dad and it would depress me for weeks.

It's not that I dont want to go on one, I'd love to very much, but it's not been that easy to find a way...for me at least.

I've looked into groups in my area. I've found special events that you pay to attend, but I'm not really sure that's

what I want to do. As for groups in my area, you cant just "hook up with one". I assume because of the explosion

in paranormal popularity they have long waiting lists of people wanting to go out with them.

I have never been on an investigation. I think it would be fabulous to go on one!!! Perhaps someday.....

My wife and I discovered our land was haunted, and began taking photos. We were so thrilled with them, we bought a digital recorder. A few years later, we've been in several groups, and now have enough equipment for most any investigation. You don't have to have a lot to begin with, just learn about protection, and start going places. Sometimes the simpler the equipment, makes for better investigations. If you have a lot of equipment, that's where your concentration is. Making sure everything is set up and working correctly. Anyone can do an investigation with a camera, recorder, thermometer, and an emf meter. The most important thing, is to have fun !

I've never been on an investigation. I just don't have the time with a full time job, a kid running around, and another one on the way. Not that I wouldn't enjoy doing one sometime in the future, but it's just not feasible right now.

I did a "tour" at Fort Delaware, but do not consider that a true investigation...I contact the team in my state, but never got a response....I think they are not too organized...I have a funny feeling though that they are certain kool aid drinkers, not that this is wrong, but not for me....

Have you had personal experiences or are you looking to have one? For me I really wanted to go on an organized hunt to try and capture evidence. I've decided since then that I'd rather deal with paranormal experiences that I don't have evidence for- evidence creeps me out.
