My house is still quiet.
Anyone else having any paranormal activity?

My cousin called today to tell me that her house is suddenly very active. She's lived there for two years with no activity. Now suddenly she has cabinet doors slamming, the shower has turned itself on and the tv turns itself on and turns the volume very loud.
Interesting how activity just comes out of nowhere sometimes. Where do they come from? What suddenly attracts a spirit or makes a spirit who hasn't previously made itself known to suddenly become active?

I loved reading these posts. It also freaks me out when I hear a voice that is either right at your ear or real near you and theres no one there. In the old house were my daughter and I used to live it was usually a man I heard. (have not heard anything like that here in this house) But …there seemed to me a kindly woman about too..but I only heard her on rare occasions. See I used to take my daughters grandmother to her doctors appointments which toward the last few years of her life there were a lot…but there were a few time before I took her to her doc appointments where I would lay down or sit down to rest and say to myself just for a bit and I would mistakingly fall asleep. The next thing I know..I would hear a gentle female voice call my name …DARLA….and I would wake up with a start ..look at the time and rush out the door. Those times if that voice didnt wake me up..my daughters grandmother would of missed her appointments..and she was very sick..she had Parkinsons. But I only heard that female voice when it came to helping her grandmother..after her grandmother passed..I have never heard that voice again.
Some times I wonder about what her grandmother always used to talk about..she always talked about her angels. She said when she lost things..she would ask her angels out loud for them to help her …then not long after that she would find what ever she was looking for ..and the funny thing was..she said it was always were she already looked . So she knew thats when they helped her. Makes ya think. If not angels she had spirits watching over her. A comforting thought.
Edit: To your question above..no thank goodness. No activity at all in this house. I did there for a few days but then suddenly stopped. But activity here is very very few and far between since we moved here…and we lived her now for ..oh about 3 years now. Our old house on the other hand was active on a daily basis night and day , I was so relieved to move into this house I can tell ya. I forgot what SLEEP was , then moved here and thought I was in heaven. lol

High Water Bills. Has anybody ever heard that paranormal activity could be a reason for high water bills? For the past 4 years, I have had super high water bills and super high water usage. My water bills come in monthly. On 3 occasions, I have had water bills that were 25 to over 75 times normal. Today I was notified that I used about 76 times more water than normal. The other 40 plus months of bills were normal.
After the second high water bill, I had the water meter and register replaced with a new unit. The register that sits on top of the water meter counts the number of cubic feet of water used. There are 7.48 gallons per cubic foot. Here is some information about water meters for the home.

I have many years experience as an industrial plumber and I have vast knowledge about fluid leaks, whether hidden or visible. I also know that the registers (counters) that sit on top of the water meter can sometimes read wrong but that is a very rare event. I doubt that new register and meter would be defective. There are no underground water leaks or in the home. There are no intermittent water leaks such as a problem with the toilet that I am aware of. Other than somebody stealing water from me during the night which is nearly impossible, I have no other explanation. Any comments of the possibility of paranormal activity related to high water usage would be welcome. It will save me hours looking for the information on the internet.

Possible explanations for high water bills. I found videos online of cats flushing toilets. I do have a cat but never saw her flush the toilet. I did find evidence that she would put her paws into the toilet bowl. It was common for her to soak her paws in her water dish to maybe get rid of cat litter granules caught between her foot pads. That would explain the cat litter granules in her water dish and also the toilet bowl.
I did not have this cat when my first two super high water bills came in 2009 and later. Those two super high water bills could have been due to a defective register that actually counts the number of cubic feet of water used. Or maybe something else like phantom flushes which can be explained.

Answers or comments to my questions or comments are welcome. I was unable to find an answer to my high water bills online that could be paranormal in nature. It appears that high water usage is not common or even a rare event to paranormal activities. Many strange events have happened in my present home over the years. When I mentioned to the water department representative that my past high water bills and super high usages could be paranormal in nature, it appeared to me that he rolled his eyes and gave me that look that I must be some weird person or nuts. I feel that about 80% of the people don't believe in paranormal events. Those who have seen, heard and felt by some force or entity maybe number about 10%. The other 10% believe based on the events told by others. The other 80% are too narrow minded to even consider the possibilities.
Has anybody ever smelled a foul odor in their home that you cannot blame on science, yourself, another person or a pet like a cat or dog? I have also smelled nice smelling perfume or colonge in my home but they were rare events.
Has anybody ever had problems with their electricity powered appliances?
About my high water bills and usage? I am presently studying to what is a probable cause. I said the word probable. Probable is not factual.

I believe that I have found the reasons for my high water bills and don't believe that they were due to paranormal activity. I wrote a lengthy comment of my findings and tried to copy and paste it here but I am prevented from do so. Has anything changed to the forums? I know that change is coming.

Looks like the problem corrected itself with the copy and paste.
I have done all that I could do to find the cause of my high water bills. Because of the huge amount of water used, the probable cause was my toilet in the half bath at the other end of my house. This toilet is very rarely used. Most of the time, I will clean it and flush it about once a month.
I have looked at this particular toilet before during my previous high water bills. I checked the flapper and all internal workings in the tank. I tried to cause this toilet to stick to keep the flapper from closing. I found no debris such as a chunk of mineral build up that might have broken lose from my water piping into the house. I have run out of answers as to what the problem was but could only think of probable causes. What may have been left no evidence.
My toilet is made by Mansfield and was made during the 1970s. My opinion of Mansfield toilets is that they don't flush well and can plug up easily. Both of my toilets are the same type and brand and both flush the same way.
During the test, I kept the flapper from closing and allowed the tank to empty completely. The water rate coming into the tank was about 3.5 gallons a minute. I checked my water meter before I did the test on water consumption and noted the reading. After 15 minutes of continuous flushing by keeping the flush handle tied down, I found that about a little over 7 cubic feet of water was used in 15 minutes. That is a lot of water. That toilet would have to run non-stop for over 10 days to have used over 57,000 gallons of water.
I saw no turbulence of water in the toilet bowl while the water continued to pour into the empty tank. I wondered where all this water was going so I got out some red food coloring and poured some into the tank. After a few seconds, some red dye fed back from the siphon and settled at the bottom of the toilet bowl. Looking at the surface of the water, there was absolutely no turbulence. The water that was entering the tank went directly into the bowl siphon passage and into the drain.
Here is the probable cause of what might have happened. I cleaned and flushed the toilet and walked away. It is possible that the toilet flapper failed to close for over 10 days. I didn't hear the water flowing in because of the toilet location and my hearing impairment. Somehow about 10 or 11 days later, the flapper closed itself and the toilet went back to normal.
I shut off the water valve that feeds into the tank and will open it up for toilet cleaning and shut the valve back off. If in the future months or years, I don't get anymore high water bills then it means I have found the source of my high water bills. More than likely, the high water usage was not paranormal

I couldn't find any of my previous comments that told of my ghost walk that my sister convinced me to take because they "needed a man" in the group. I found this comment that I left on another paranormal forum and I will copy and paste part of it here.

It kind of took over my mind as I was driving home. My mind went into a "foggy" state as I drove. Things that used to be familar to me like the roads, road signs and buildings seemed very stange. It was like being on a stange road for the first time. I had no problems driving but felt that I would not be able to drive home. Some things did look familiar like a deja vu experience. I was able to make it home and the "foggy" state of my mind disappeared. At first I thought that it was a medical condition like I was having a very mild stroke. I dismissed the medical condition when I realized that the entity entered my house and created some havoc. It went on for a few weeks with mischevious deeds and missing items. I didn't see this entity but I heard it and felt it. I assured the entity that it was welcome in my home as long it would stop trying to frighten me."

I posted the above on another forum. This was about the ghost walk that my sister urged and talked me into taking. Stupid me for going on that ghost walk and bringing yet another spirit into my home. I have no idea why these spirits are attracted to me as if I am some type of ghost magnet. I feel that I know who the spirit was. Her name was listed as "Veronica" in the book but that wasn't her real name. Here is a web link to the book that you can partly read online. I know that when I got into my car about two or three blocks away, that my head and mind was clear and as I turned the corner near the yacht club, my mind went into a foggy state. I had no problem driving but I had no idea what street that I was on or how to get home. I felt like I was in a strange city for the first time in my life. I was able to make it home but the entire drive home was like I was on some strange road. I do have this book and the readers can get a preview of this book.
