The Psychic “Play Ground”

The other day as I was driving to an appointment, I passed several school playgrounds. On the way home I stopped and just observed the kids playing and having fun, while I enjoyed my lunch.

Then something started to make sense to me. This is how most “Psychic’s” are. They “Play” within the safety of their “Psychic Subjective Play Ground”.

They have their fences up:

** NO Skeptics Permitted!

** NO Non-Believers Permitted!

** NO Objective Reality and so forth permitted on the “Play Ground”!!

Plus the sign says to the “kids” playing in the “Play Ground” – “Do not cross over this ‘fence!

You see all the “kids” in this Psychic Playground, ‘playing nice’. Everyone understands the “play nice” rules:

** Do not challenge another person’s claim!

** Do not ask the “wrong” questions to another person!

** Do not focus on when they are wrong, only IF they are right, even IF only ‘sorta-kinda-maybe’ right!

** No matter how vague the “right answer is”, let it be fully and 100% right!

** DO NOT BRING OBJECTIVE REAL LIFE INTO THE “PLAY GROUND”!!

I think another ‘Playground Rule’ should be:

** Never bring REAL LIFE SITUATIONS into the “Playground”. If you do and you get it “right”, understand that this is the RARE EXCEPTION to the RULE and NOT the RULE.

More then not, most “Psychics” expect to be treated with ”White Gloves” and “Political Correctness” and “Warm Fuzzies”. People, that is NOT the real world, you need to understand this and learn to deal with it.

When you make a unique claim, EXPECT to be challenged. This is the RULE and has been for eons! If you cannot stand up to being challenged – - > Then keep your mouth shut, it’s seriously just that simple.

If you cannot stand up on your own two feet with Personal Integrity, Personal Accountability a Personal Responsibility, then do NOT open your mouth!!

Extraordinary Claims need extraordinary proof – it’s just that simple.

** This is not the exception – this is the RULE. DEAL WITH IT! The rest of the world knows and understands fully that it has to.

** Every other field from the Sciences, Sports, Business and such understand this. If you are going to “claim something” you will HAVE TO PUT UP or you will be shut up. The Psychic world is NOT EXEMPT from this nor should it be.

If you cannot validate your claims in the REAL world CONSISTANTLY, why on Earth do you honest expect it be accepted in the “Spiritual” / “Subjective” world? Seriously why do you expect this to be the case??

Again – this is not talking about and/or addressing those who have a unique or un-explained experience, that is totally different.

"Psychics" hate me /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I refuse to elaborate when they ask questions.

Do you know someone whose name starts with "J"? Yes.

They of course are hoping I will say a name haha. That

is just an example, but I'm that way with any question.

Needless to say I've never had an accurate reading /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

oh, and I do want to say that I do believe that there are

people out there that are psychic, I just think it's extremely

rare and that I've not had the pleasure of a reading by

any of them…although I've had quite a few readings by

people who claim to be psychic.

And I'll put a challenge out there that if anyone here

that is psychic wants to do a reading on me I'm more

then happy to participate /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'll do a reading on you. Of course, I'm not a psychic, have never claimed to be psychic, and I promise to keep all of my readings vague and easily open to interpretation. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> But the only precondition is that you cannot question my abilities…

Oh these "psi" that "phish" are funny.

A friend of mine "toyed" with a self-proclaimed Psychic on-line.

First she was POSITIVE he was 26-28. Wrong – 16 years odd.

We did not tell her the answers till she was done.

Then she told my friend – "You have some anger issues." She pressed this, but he kept his cool and kept saying, "Okay, if I do tell me what this specific issue is?" She never did, (could).

She also started to loose it, because he would 'drop' clues and hints.

In the end she got angry and blasted us for not being honest – until we sent her to his home page on a site she has and showed him he was indeed 16. She suddenly "lost her on-line connection". /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

We posted a follow-up on her and she .. .well she was exposed. Especially when we mentioned how me times she tried to 'phish' for specifics with her generic 'observations'.

A number of years back, in a YAHOO! on-line real chat room. Usually the people would come in with A-S-L. (Age-sex-location).

I said watch this .. I waited for the right age and sex. 16-18 – Female. WHALAH … one finally came in.

ME: "hey, you seem upset and have some serous doubts."

GIRL:"OMG! YES …"

Before she could answer…

ME: I sense it is a person .. a …. relationship. Yes! You are doubting the seriousness of a relationship with a boy."

GIRL: "OMG! OMG!! Yes!! My boyfriend…"

ME: "Yes, you think he is playing the field behind your back."

GIRL: "OMFG!! YES!! I beginning to think he's a scum bag….."

And so on it went. Psychic? NO .. Psychology, yes. But by the time we were done you would have thought, like she did that I was an "AMAZING PSYCHIC" <- Her words. My friends just laughed, in the private chat window. Several others in the open chat window thought I was also and started to ask me questions as well.

But my friends saw my point. Know your mark by knowing psychology of your mark. (Age – Sex – Social Status, looks, words used and such.)

To be honest I don't trust the advertising psychics out there. The best way to describe what a psychic does I read in a book once. The person in the book said that getting glimpses of the future is liking being in the outfield of a baseball park trying to catch a flyball while blindfolded. You'll get one once in a while but most of them get by you.

See the first thing I ask when someone tells – post, "I am a psychic." is -> "Please define what you mean?"

Their answer will make it clear: Subjective Psi or Objective Psi? Psychology or Psi? Phisher -or- Psi? and so on.

Are there real deals out there?

Yes! But the Subjective Pis's are a penny a gross … The Objective Psi's are rare … but when you find one, you know as there is NO DOUBT.

But the first question is: What do you mean by calling yourself a "Psychic"??

Again, no I'm not playing "word games" … it depends on your definition of Psychic.

One of the reasons I hate PSYCHIC is it usually means – Telling future events and such.

Thus why I use the term PSI .. which means Paranormal/Sixth Sense Abilities.

The answer is: YES.

I know one gal that can look at a picture of you .. and without asking any questions … will give you a reading that is NOT generic or "one size fits all" … and is spot on. She impressed me and a number of fellow Skeptics. We know Psychology -vs- Psi – Generic – Phishing and so on.

I know another guy that will talk on-line with you … and all you do is give him permission to 'scan you' and he will give you specific medical issues going on. He will not ask questions … but will tell you …. again not 'generic' or such.

I know another guy that can "Link" with you and help calm down Headached and other pain issues. He 'treaments' are they are called usually last up to 8 hours. Right now I know he is helping a friend who just had open heart surgery … and when she is in serious pain, she will call him for help. He "links" with her and from the wire mesh itch and discomfort – to breathing issues in her left lung to general post surgery pain she helps him. She even did this while she was in the doctor's office to show the doctor what this guy could do. He was very impressed … He can also do other things .. but it is always OBJECTIVE in evidence and such and be reproduced at will.

So yes I know a few … but these are the rare ones … to be honest.

Have you personally known a real psychic?

I dont know really…

I think it started because life wasnt so great and I was dying to see if there was any happiness in my future.

But that was long ago, since then it's just become a quest of mine to find a legit psychic, since I've found so

many UNlegit ones.

Well the thing to understand that these are NOT "Future" tellers …. I actually have yet to find a real "Future Teller" – for this one reason … The future is FLUID … there are so many variables at play – cause/effects and choices and changes of minds …

So if you are looking for "Future" … these people would not help you at all. In fact again I state in my 40+ years of looking, I've not found a "Future Teller".

I dont know really…

Nope…that was what I was looking for originally, at this point I'm just looking to find a psychic.

Like I said it's become a quest of mine. I think it's just that I really want to believe people can

be psychic, but since I've never come across one that can give me an accurate reading I still

have no definitive proof.

I'm curious, why does a Psychic care what my reasoning for wanting a reading is?

It shouldnt have any effect on the reading, right?

Some people ask the obvious questions … "Does He/She like me?" – "Are they faithful?" – "Will I find true love?" – "Is "so-and-so" cheating on me?"

I would tell you right now they would tell these people:

… > Go ask them! /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

… > If you have doubts you need to address them with the person!

… > What do you define as true love? (True love does not happen, it grows and takes time.)

… > They have the ethical rule of NO "Psi-Spy" unless it is a confirmed life-death-harm at play. This must be validated.

But if you want to talk – chat and such … I can see what I can do …. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I have heard that Maureen Hancock from Bridgewater, MA is authentic. My only reservation is that she holds public readings which she charges a fee to attend. If a psychic charges for a reading does that automatically raise a red flag or are they entitled to make a living off their "gift" just like an artist or a craftsman would?

IMPO – I have nothing against charging for a service … but I do have a problem if the cost in this arena is "out of focus" – IE: Sylvia Brown charges $4,000.00 … Really? If you cannot afford and can prove it – She has a Tuff Luck POLICY ..

I know one friend that gives a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE of $40.00 asking amount. This was to cover his gas and time. $40.00 flat rate 1 – 3 hours.

But if you were not Objectively better for the visit – then you paid nothing… period. He only gave the $$ back in three cases, when he found out the person(s) could not really afford the money at the time due to economic reasons. He never denied anyone if they could not afford the $40.00.

So it all depends. I what I usually ask is it a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE? That tells you a lot right there!

The one friend that can link and help out w/physical issues .. (he lives here in the same City I do) we meet regularly. He said he would be willing to set up a time to chat with you .. even here on PUG Chatroom. You would be free (within reason) to ask him what ever you wish … he's a pretty easy going guy.

Tuesday – Fridays and Saturdays are the best for him. Holidays are little more 'tight' -- but pick a couple of different times that would work with you and we can see what works.

I dont need a psychic to answer any of those questions /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />
