What if they have something happen but didn't get a good catch on camera so they "recreate" it?

Actually this would be acceptable if they made it clear that was what they were doing. Some of the old shows and others do recreations and no one squawks because it is done to clarify what they are presenting.

No, it wouldn't answer any questions but at least people might feel they weren't being deliberately fooled and in this case would fairly leave it up to the individual whether to believe it or not.

So here's a question. What if they have something happen but didn't get a good catch on camera so they "recreate" it? I would imagine the temptation to do this would be huge since it really happened.

Edit: Want to point out that this is a purely hypothetical question – something I was wondering about.

I agree with Kim…

if they are going to do this, fine but let us know it is a reenactment of what was experienced.

That's my issue that they don't have a disclaimer saying its a "reenactment" or "for entertainment purposes only".

I might be lying, but I'm telling the truth

Understood and that leads one to believe that what they are presenting is genuine. Which is most people's problem.

I guess for me, I just always assume that what you see on reality TV isn't genuine. Editing can be – and is – done very cleverly on most reality programs. What editing gives you is slight of hand, where you can take real events and what you wind up presenting is pure illusion. Since GH is presented as a docu-soap as opposed to a documentary, I just always assumed that the reality TV editing "magic" was part and parcel of the package. But like I say – I assume that of pretty much every "reality" show.

I use the analogy of professional wrestling. Everyone knows that isn't real, but for years it was this huge "do they or don't they" kind of secret. I know this because a modeling job I had mannnny mannnnny years ago was to be a "manager" for a professional wrestler and we were NOT allowed to say wrestling was fake which cracked me up because I always thought it was obvious even though there seemed to be so many people who believed it. Still, that standard was always okay for professional wrestling because it was sort of presented with a wink and a nudge to the audience even though nobody ever said outright it was fake.

Can you imagine what would happen if they did that with other professional sports like football? There's always been a subtle distinction though – it is expected of wrestling but not football. And creative editing is expected of "reality" TV but not of documentaries.

Well, there is a new episode on tonight at 9 EST. It says the most shocking evidence yet…

I guess we should watch and see what they caught this time.

Then it gives us something to rant and complain about tomorrow. LOL

I guess if nothing else it does fuel conversation.

So I don't know if you guys saw the new episode tonight, but I just watched it and found it highly suspicious that Jay and Grant intentionally put a camera facing an object reported to move, yet part of the object is just off the camera so some one very physically there could in fact move it. Why not turn the camera a hair?

I agree. I love how they said they put it in the pic as much as they

could and be able to keep the window in the pic…no you didnt.

They could have rolled it further up the side of the bed and it would

have been completely in the shot. Hell they could have stuck it ON

the bed.

And THAT was some of the most shocking evidence ever???

I guess they've decided all the other crap they make up isnt that exciting /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I'd say flying hangers, moving chairs, jumping tables, collars tugged repeatedly

ghost images they've caught…are all FAR more shocking then that little movement

the doll carriage did /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Gee, does that mean they are sort of confessing all that other stuff was fake /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I don't know why they moved the stroller in the first place if they were hearing it scrape against the wall? If they were concerned about the window also then why not dedicate a second camera on the stroller in place next to the wall? It wouldn't have interfered with the IR field of views.

The same old thing for me. Why move a suspected moving object? Why investigate at night when the incidents happen during the day? Why, why, why? Common sense and a little logic will take you a lot farther than subterfuge.

So does that mean Kris Williams is going to admit to plastic surgery?
