They are not showing the last episode until Sept. 13th. There was a new episode last night, should be on demand today.

Episode 11 season two, or epi 23….. I'll call it, confusion for me!

The scenes with Tara, and Lafayette were great.

Tara manipulating her mom, and Lafayette on the porch, with Sookie.

Nice connection with Eric on the porch, to Sookie and Lafayette.

This is where I start to get confused.

So Tara's exorcism is what called Maryann to Bon Temps. That would mean Maryann, is part of the major story line of the show and wasn't just an arbitrary complication thrown into the writing for kicks. Maryann was the little girl in Tara's exorcism.

Okay, I followed that, now this where my confusion sets in.

Maryann explains why she was summoned, it was because Tara and Miss Jeanettee unleashed some type of energy, and she said Miss Jeanette wasn't a healer.

She was fake. Doesn't make sense.

If Maryann needs a vessel to summon Bacchus, and she's been hunting forever for this vessel, why would a fake priestess get Maryann's attention?

Does Maryann know what people are myhtical and what people are human? At times Maryann does not seem to know the difference! Nothing in the script explains why. I don't think she knows what Sookie is either.

Maryann, knows who are vampires and shapshifters. But, if her character in the show is so powerful, she only senses some of the mythical creatures.

Humans can fool her, strange.

When the vampire queen talks to Bill about Maryann I think, the speeches are confusing.

The speeches, are just sort of thrown in while Bill is trying to leave. It was an important part of the episode, I would of thought.

Bill really doesn't push asking, and the vampire queen starts to rattle on. It's like the speeches aren't connected to actions.

The vampire queen says, she's mortal! she's not mortal! she has to sleep with Bacchus! Bacchus isn't real! What!!!

We know what Maryann is and can look up a Maenad, but the writing in these lines made no sense to me.

I wanted an explanation for a Maenad from over a thousand year old vampire queen in the show.

I figured she would know what she is talking about.

Then the Sookie cousin stuff got thrown in, about the cousin being in the vampire queens court.

Did anyone notice when Bill was talking to the cousin, he did not at all seem surprised Sookie's cousin was there.

It was like he knew her, even suggesting she not return to Bon Temps.

I hope they tie up this current loose ends, on Sept 13, before more are created.

I watched the vampire queens explanation of Maryann three times, and her explanation is wacko! Did anyone else notice this?

This is the first time, in the show the writing did not make sense to me.

I still liked Evan Rachel Wood, as the vampire queen.

Hope the show is not turning into Twin Peaks, lol

Racked my head trying to figure out that show. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I thought that scene with Andy and Jason (where Jason pretends to be the "god") was absolutely hysterical. "I need horns."

I can't wait for this storyline with MaryAnn to end. Enough of that woman already.

Jason s voice was so deep.

Yup, someone needs to kill Maryann.

Tired of Maryann as well!!

Not sure about the egg; as it's not apart of the books. Hell the whole Maryann part isn't in the books either.

Twin Peaks was easy to follow if you invested time into it; laura palmer's diary, the confessions of the log lady etc. There were external sources to help you.

What the heck is up with the egg?

A bit of a spoiler above, but that's on me for looking before watching the show. Now I can't wait to see the latest episode. I'm going to have to dig a bit on this but i'm sure there is a symbolism on the egg. I've actually dug out my old copies of edie hamilton's mythology and will begin pouring over it for info.

Your siggy, is a riot! lmao!

Love that scence with Eric. Him whistling in a cape, foil in his hair, while wearing flip flops.

Then he just turns deadly, it's great!

Eric and Pam together, in Fangtasia are my favorite TB moments.

They are so deadpan, ironic, clever, and sarcastic.

Eric, is always more fashionable in Fangtasia around Pam. He get's so GQ! Pam's so fashion conscious, it makes me laugh.

Pam with her brooding, dad to I have to attitude. lol

I'm so in infatuated with Eric and he's a character on tv. lol I think, I'm so pathetic. lol

It's not even about his looks so much, just everyhing else. The tall towering above everyone, just shows more authority, with his presence.

The way he maniputaes the other characters and has that child like self pleasing smile afterwards, is a hoot.

He has great lines, and his delivery, I think is wonderful.

Are you caught up? I'm dieing to know what you think of the last epi.

I picked a book on mythology.

Allan Ball, throws these little tidbits on the screen and clues.

I just realized Maryann Forrester, (forest) hmm. Guess I'm slow.

The character Eggs, the egg.

There were a few other things I picked up on when I watched again. But, I'm waiting to see what you think and find.

The pictures in the vampire queen's pool room were interesting. The camera flashed on the picyures ,and a statue of a bird, a tie in to the previews for the last epi it looked like to me.

What do you think Maryann's arms look like (when she's chasing someone) claw like, or hoof like?

The sign on Fangtasia door during the day, Sorry we're dead. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

This show is funny I think when it's not trying to be, then funny when it is trying.

I easily think that they are (Pam & Eric) the most interesting characters and by far my favorite. I love that sarcastic dead pan ultra dry humor. You've gotta believe that this is a direct result of their "tainted" immortality. Eric is a metrosexual apparently.

I'm so in infatuated with Eric and he's a character on tv. lol I think, I'm so pathetic. lol

There's a scene w/he and Isabella outside the church where they're talking about humans mortality and Eric comments yes, they don't keep well do they?

No, not yet but I should be after the long holiday weekend.

I'll have to see the episode to figure out the context of the egg!

Did you notice the stones Bill was walking on entering her compound? Did they remind you of sarcophaguses?

What do you think Maryann's arms look like (when she's chasing someone) claw like, or hoof like?

They reminded me of talons. Monkette thinks she has mannish feet

This show is funny I think when it's not trying to be, then funny when it is trying.

I have a feeling that multiple viewings may be required for this show because there's so much going on in the background etc.

**********POSSIBLE SPOILER BEWARE**********************

She was fake. Doesn't make sense.

I got the impression from the things that Maryann said that rituals are powerful devices/platforms and when performed incorrectly/improperly (ie:by a fraud). the results can be a little unpredictable.

If Maryann needs a vessel to summon Bacchus, and she's been hunting forever for this vessel, why would a fake priestess get Maryann's attention?

I think the Vampire Queen shed some light on this when she talked about how powerful beliefs/faith can be w/Bill. Tara REALLY wanted this thing to work so she could have some type of "normal" life and I think the energy and emotions evoked, no matter the exact platform would've attracted her attention. Maryanne wants the thing she cannot have, she couldn't get Sam completely under her power, he showed an ability to resist her. While she has an effect on "supers" (as I think Daphne called them), she does not have complete control over them. Since Sam was able to resist her charms, Maryann believes he's the missing ingredient to successfully bring Bacchus into this world/plane.

Does Maryann know what people are myhtical and what people are human? At times Maryann does not seem to know the difference! Nothing in the script explains why. I don't think she knows what Sookie is either.

Maryann, knows who are vampires and shape-shifters. But, if her character in the show is so powerful, she only senses some of the mythical creatures.

Humans can fool her, strange.

Again, the Vampire Queen (who I'll just refer to as VQ) sort of illuminates this issue a little too. She comments that "god" never fully reveals itself. She (Maryanne) truly believes she is what she is and it gives her strength and power. I don't believe she's as omniscient as she believes herself to be. VQ sort of insinuates that she might be able to be hoodwinked in the correct situation. I think there is an arrogance in Maryann that she knows that there are alot of different "supers" out there and she thought she HAD experienced all of them. Keep in mind that she herself is NOT a diety, she is an acolyte OF a diety. There are plenty of incidents in Greek mythology where very clever mortals can temporarily fool the gods, but not forever and the consequences are almost always dire. I think Maryann tries to enchant people and when they don't respond to her "charms" then she has to physically touch them (ie: confrontation w/Sookie and punching Tara after she was freed by Bill/Sookie).

I figured she would know what she is talking about.

You know, the whole VQ angle has left both Monkette and I a little underwhelmed. Firstly, I would've thought the queen to be much older then Eric or Godric and secondly what is the deal w/the queen? In the Godric/Dallas arc there was a passing mention of taking things out of the hands of the Sheriffs and Magistrate and going straight to the King of Texas (?). Not sure what the power structure is in the Vampire world does each region have a king or queen?

I think the VQ was intentionally being vague just to mess w/Bill and keep him there for awhile (perhaps Sookie's cousin angle?). I don't think that Bill is in any position to dictate the terms of the information the VQ chooses to give. The VQ said that Maenads started out human, but the level of conviction and the power of their belief in what they were doing has strengthened them over time and transformed them into something else. Could it be that Maryann is also a shapeshifter or does she need that helmet to make the change? The Queen also reveals the possible importance of "shifters" to the ritual being both human and animal, I don't think Bill is aware of Sam as part of the sacrifice yet. Also remember, that Dionysius was often referred to as "the twice born god". Some of the old myths surrounding his birth have said that he was ripped from his mothers womb and left to die and Zeus placed him in his thigh until he was ready to reach term. Perhaps it's this duality, that requires Sam's heart over say Daphne's. Perhaps a Maenad can be like a Phoenix, rises from the ashes to begin again? I've gotten the impression that vampires view the rest of the supernatural world w/disdain as they are close if not top of the food chain. The Queen sort of viewed the Maenad topic from Bill w/a bemused incredulity. Like a whole "why should I care and more importantly why do YOU care?" attitude. She did give him quite a few answers, but I bet she gives better info to Eric because perhaps they're like minded in an ulterior motive?

Then the Sookie cousin stuff got thrown in, about the cousin being in the vampire queens court.

Did anyone notice when Bill was talking to the cousin, he did not at all seem surprised Sookie's cousin was there.

It was like he knew her, even suggesting she not return to Bon Temps.

It's not revealed whether or not the cousin is a vampire. Perhaps she's got Sookie's ability as well. If that is the case, then perhaps that's why Eric wants Sookie so bad because he's going to do a power play to move up the ladder? Nothing like having a mind reader on staff.

The huge egg in Gran's bed

What's that about?

A new beginning? Perhaps the second birth of Dionysius? Maybe a healthy omelet after a gruelling game of yahtzee??? Who can tell?

Both Monkette and I look forward to Eric and Pam "heavy" shows. I'm sort of bored w/Sookie and Bill. Don't get me wrong, I like the characters, but the Fangtasia folks (even the ditzy blonde human who works there) to be infinitely more interesting. I have so many questions that I guess only reading the books will answer. Is Eric Pam's creator? How many vampires can one "create"? Is it like China and there's a max qouta? I noticed that the magistrate had all Bill's info on a PDA (I laughed pretty hard at that one). Can vampires understand all languages no matter what their previous background? I realize they have nothing but time on their hands, but does that mean they take the time to become bilingual, a natural gift or is it a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy "babel fish" sort of thing going on. Eric and Pam speak Swedish to each other. Tea Cup Humans too funny. And Eric can FLY??? That is too cool for school, is that an age thing as well??? The show is slowly turning into a "supernatural" version of "In Search Of", just answering questions w/more questions. Any bets on Godric's origins? He wore outfits that I would associate w/a warm weather climate, the linen pants over long shirt and sandals. Also his tattoos, odd, vaguely Egyptian sort of, perhaps originally a Mongol or Asiatic???

I wouldn't worry about a third season SOT, they're ratings are decent I would imagine (probably no where near the Sopranos, but I would imagine good enough to warrant a new season) and I'm sure the DVDs & Books are flying off the shelves. I'd be curious to see their ratings up against everything else in the time slot, network and otherwise. I just hope they don't delay 18 months between seasons like they did w/the Sopranos, that was way uncool.

Yahtzee! /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Hey Monk, I watched this epi again and answered some of my own questions.

Your shapeshifter take on Maryann, interesting and one I have not thought of. My daughters and I have been throwing around the Phoenix theory, with the egg. My one daughter thinks Godric is in the egg. lol We are having bets on what we think is in the egg.

So far for Vamps, they have sheriffs of districts, or areas. Godric area nine of Dallas, and Eric area five. The queen controls the state, so I guess there would also be kings of states. Looks like the vamps are divided into kingdoms, with each state representing a monarchy.

The magister, vamp judge presides over all North American Vampires.

Sookie's cousin, when Jason and Sookie had the bonding scene they talked about Gran's death and having no family left.

They did not even recognize, or mention, their cousin even as lost family.

There were chicken references in the last epi. Lafayette throwing the drugs on the ground to Arlene, here chicky, chicky.

Jason had that conversation with Andy what came first the chicken or the egg.

I liked how the pictures in the VP pool room, had a woman with a shells around her head, the previews for tonight showed Maryann and Sookie with flowers around their heads. Wedding? Then last week, it flashed to a picture in the pool room to a stork like bird.

Can't wait untill tonight, we are having a TB party. Fangbangers will be flowing. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Looked at TB ratings a few weeks ago. There were a few epi's ( in season two) that smashed the Sopranos season ending. It's about 5 mil an epi, in season two for watching, plus the dvr, which HBO counts. TB is their most watched series to date. Season one ratings were not that great, in comparision to season two. The shows that follow TB have great ratings also. The Sunday 9-11 pm slot is big for them.

My friend is a HBO rep, it's my understanding there will be a season four. They have a winner on their hands.

Enjoy tonight's show TB fans! /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Back to my cooking for party.

So? What did everyone think of the final episode of the season?

Lots of good questions there but we'll probably never know. /sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> I too am a bit tired of the sookie-Bill storyline. I missed the finale so I'll have to watch it on Demand.
