I thought the epi was (can't use the words here) except for the banter between Nan and Bill. Then Tommy died, yesss! We danced, we drank, we cheered.

Last year our TB group requested to the writers, to kill off Tommy.

We petitioned them. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I heard at Comic Con, many suggested to Alan Ball, to kill him off.

Maybe they were just sick of hearing it. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

That whole Mickens story line bites.

The best thing about Tommy was when he turned into Sam. The walk, the voice, was great.

Hoyt is also boring, I hope he is killed off. But, I love his Mother, she is such a mimi.

She is high on our list to impersonate, you can have so much fun with her character doing it. Sookie and Jason are high on our list to impersonate, we have a blast.

When Tommy died, I swear that I could hear Monk cheering. I'm glad that Sam has a backbone now and I hope that Alcide finally grows one or at least gets his nuts back from Debbie. I loved seeing Eric, Pam, Jessica and Bill all in black at the end of the episode.

****************POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERTS**************************************

Another strong episode…highlight was Eric drinking out of that guy's heart like a sippy cup! Classic….

Pam again with the line of the night….Stop, wait, that's vintage Cartier (rips necklace off doomed Vampire) I'll take good care of this…Okay go ahead!

I am concerned about the writers giving EVERYONE a "supe" angle, would sort of ruin things for the series. I have a feeling that this "Morella" is another fairy and she looks a little like the description of Claudine, Sookie's fairy god mother in the books. Does this mean that Niall Brigant will make an appearance? For some reason I see Bill Nighy in that role.

I've been rereading the book series and am into the last of the true books. I've also recently just gotten the Sookie Stackhouse companion and the two short stories…still working my way through those.

I'll be happy when Marnie's toast, loved it when "Uncle Tom" got it and wasn't so bummed out about Marcus.

Best line was Andy "Don't go all Lost In Nature retarded" HAHAHAHA!

I haven't been as vigilant with the quotes like I used to, but that Andy quote made me laugh. There was a couple of them.

Monk, I enjoy reading the quotes that you like.

I enjoyed Lafayette's description of Marnie puking up Antonia's ghost. I thoroughly enjoyed the scene where Eric drank from the heart and then licked his fingers, wish it were my fingers he was licking but I will not get graphic. All I can say is Alexander Skarsgard is so sexy.

I wonder how the season finale will be, glad that a new episode is on Sunday but also sad cause it will be the season finale, boo.

Andy and the fairy kind of reminded me of ET with the finger glowing, I was waiting to see if either would say phone home.

Yeah, the sippy heart moment with that jerk lackey of Marnie's was AWESOME. Even the look Bill gives Eric as Eric is licking his fingers is a combination of admiration for what could only be called a "statement kill" and disgust for his brutality. Monkette and I also believed that there would be an ET moment wondering when his fetish for Reeses Pieces would be revealed.

For those of you who are curious about the books themselves here's the listing of the books & short stories in the order they were meant to be done (short stories and novellas are in italics)

Dead until Dark

Living Dead in Dallas

Club Dead

Dead to the World

Fairy Dust

Dracula Night

Dead as a Doornail

One Word Answer

Defintiely Dead

All Together Dead

Lucky

From Dead To Worse

Gift Wrap

Dead and Gone

Two Blondes

Dead in the Family

Small Town Wedding

Dead Reckoning

If I Had a Hammer

One word answer is the most relevant of the short stories as it deals with Sookie's cousin Hadley. One can find most of the short stories in "A Touch of Dead" which came out a few years ago, but just reading it as a "stand alone" is sort of disjointed AND can be a spoiler if you haven't read all the books first. So reading them as outlined above may be the best way to go.

I have a review of the most current releases from Charlaine Harris which I guess I'll put over in the literature section

SPOILER ALERT BEWARE!!!!

Well let me just say right off the top…getting rid of three of my least favorite characters while sadly saying goodbye to a character I've come to sort of love (Nan) was a bitter pill to swallow, but to be getting back Russell Edgington AND Steve Newlin??? OH BAYBEE FIRE UP THE BAND!!! But who's this Devins person from Terry's past? Another supe? Hope not, it's getting old. It was nice to see Adele back again, miss her.

Here are a list of my favorite quotes:

Maxine: He was a devious son of a b!tch, but he had a good heart in there somewhere.

Maxine: Sweet boy…of course then he stole a bunch of my clothes and jewelry. Even a pair of my underpants….and my favorite church shoes.

Sam: Nobody taught Tommy how to love somebody with out hurting them…I failed him that way too

Maxine: Well my guess is nobody taught you either. We all do the best we can with what we got.

Maxine: Tommy may NOT have been my flesh and blood – but he WAS a son to me.

Jason: Nice day…it's moist out

Jason: We gotta talk…mind putting that thing down first (referring to the chainsaw in Hoyt's hand).

Jason: I had sex w/Jessica….(Hoyt starts laughing) I ain't joking, wish i was but I ain't.

Hoyt: How?

Jason: Weird question to ask, man. But if you really want to know….missionary and then doggy, then her on top, there was nothing too kinky (Hoyt punches him right in the face)

Hoyt: NO!! I meant how can you do that to me, NOT how you f*&ked my girl.

Jason (to Hoyt): as he's laying there bleeding profusely from the face….you made your point, Hoyt (Hoyt walks up and kicks him right in the ribs).

Hoyt: What I had with Jess was real and you will never have that w/her or anybody else because something inside you is missing.

Lafayette: This b!tch is strong and seriousily homicidal.

Terry: Can I interest you in a hand sandwich?

Sookie: Your severed toe necklace is so cute

Sam: Nobody likes an angry bunny.

Jesus: I agree with you! Vampires SUCK!

Jesus: You can't trade magic like f*&king pokemon cards.

Arlene: You keep this up and you'll be trick or treating in the trailer park again. Do you want a bag of empty Coors cans and food stamps again….or candy?

Holly: (referring to marijuana) Mother Nature's valium.

Sookie (to Holly): You carry salt in your purse?

Holly: Yeah, and sage and a lock of my Aunt Josie's hair…it's like a Wiccan first aid kit

Bill (to Eric). I liked you better when you were brain damaged.

Lafayette (while posessed by Marnie): As your friend Lafayette would say "what goes around comes around B!tches".

Eric (to Marnie): Revenge will never bring you peace.

Adele (to Marnie who's screaming with frustration and rage): That's right honey. Let it all out. There's noi room for that where we're going.

Marnie: awww this F&*KING SUCKS!!!

Eric: EXCUSE ME!! WE'RE FEELING A LITTLE CRISPY UP HERE.

Jason: (it's halloween and somone's knocking on his door, he's recovering from the beat down that Hoyt dealt him) Ain't got no candy and if you little sh!ts egg my house I WILL arrest you.

Jason: You are dangerous

Jessica: Yes. I am!

Pam: I'm so over Sookie and her precious fairy vagina and her unbelieveably stupid name….F@#K SOOKIE!!! I've been with Eric for over a hundred years, I've watched him seduce supermodels and princesses and then spit out their bones when he was finished with them. How can someone named "Sookie" take him away from me????

Eric: See? It's okay Sookie, Bill's fine with it – he had his chance, and blew it

Jesus: I'm dead, dude! You are a medium, I'll always be with you!

Jessica: I'm sorry, low blood sugar.

Eric: Hi Nan and gay stormtroopers.

Nan: I've been alive for 816 years and I refuse to be retired like a fat first wife!!

Eric: What's in it for us?

Nan: Aside from you surviving the night? How 'bout your little fairy waitress? Oh c'mon, the mind reading, the microwave fingers…you didn't think I knew what she was? It's not like there aren't a couple thousand vampires that wouldn't give anything to get a taste of her blood.

Bill: Go ahead, she doesn't belong to either of us

Eric: She smells fantastic, but it's hardly worth dying for!

Nan: You're bluffing – I saw the way you both looked at her…hungry puppy dogs, slobbering over the same juicy bone…

(Eric decapitates her three bodyguards) YOU F@#KING…..

(Bill springs forward and stakes her with silver)

Bill: we are NOT F^%KING puppy dogs…

Eric: (walks over and looks down at the messy sludge that was Nan Flanigan) What – a – b!tch!

Brilliant season finale! I read all the books a while back, when season one was airing before I had HBO to watch the show and while I enjoyed the books, I think the show is much, much better. There's a lot more depth to the characters, and the stories are much more involved than the linear timeline of the book. I did think the season with Michelle Forbes dragged a little, (2nd I think), but all others have been excellent. In fact, after reading the books, our household subscribed to HBO for the 2nd season onwards and we bought the first season on DVD a couple of weeks before it starting airing to get caught up.

This season finale was incredible. So many huge surprises and shocks… It blew me away…. (no pun intended for those in the know.)

I wish we didn't have to wait until next summer for more.

Minor spoilers:

I was going to say I'll miss certain characters, but thanks to Lafayette, I'm not so sure they won't be in next season after all. Also, one major character who wasn't in this season certainly looks like playing a large part again next season.

Loved it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The two worlds are similar enough to not completely upset the "purists" but different enough that you can read the entire series and not have the tv show spoiled. That might sound completely contradictory but it really isn't. There are things about the tv show that ticks me off because I liked the way the characters were portrayed in the books but loathed the way they were shown in the series. I preferred the Colonel Flood, Calvin Norris, Claudine Cross, Tara Thorton, Pam Ravencroft**, Alcide Hevereaux from the books (I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting). *** In the books I liked the way Pam and Sookie are "friends" but it looks like they're lining them up to be enemies. I really like Pam in the TV series because she's just SOOO sarcastic. Kristen Bauer does an excellent job portraying Pam. As far as characters in the show that aren't in the books, I love Lafayette, Maxine, Hoyt (their roles in the books are not as great) and Jessica. I also like Nan and the Magister. I like the Newlins in the series too. I think they really blew it with Sam's family in the series BOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!! Terrible. I'm bummed that the season is over but what can you do….?

I re-watched the episode just to see anything I might have missed. Great season finale but wish it wasn't over. I read an article with the actress that plays Tara & she said that Alan Ball told her that next season is a big season for Tara. I think that Tara may become a vamp, just my guess or they will use Lafayette's power as a medium to keep Tara around.

I read the last book, now I only need to read the short stories. I would like to see Quinn, Mr. Cataliades, Colonel Flood, the Hotshot of the books, Bob the cat, Amelia & Bubba. I would love to see Bubba.

They showed Colonel Flood briefly last season and made him out to be such a wimp that I was disgusted. I forgot about Mr. Cataliades and Diantha I'd love to see them.

In my mind I see someone like the head of the evil banker in Despicable Me but with big black eyes as Mr. C

.

If Danny Devito was taller he'd be a perfect Mr. C…possibly Paul Giamatti? The only thing about Paul Giamatti is that I'm not sure if he could pull off the underlying "darkness".

If Tilda Swinden was a lesser actress she would make a perfect Diantha.

Jason Taylor the football player with the Dolphins and Dancing with the Stars fame would make a great Quinn.

I'm not sure who would make a good Bubba…let me think about it but I agree Bubba's the best

For Bubba I'm not sure….with so many impersonators out there….it shouldn't be too hard to find someone close w/a modicum of acting ability.
