Don't they use dark karo syrup for blood in most of these things? Monkette is in a complete lather over the return of so many of her fall shows…Blue Bloods, Fringe and of course Walking Dead. We're also going to check out that new Whitney show AND the new JJ Abrams project…persons of interest

Sooooo what does everyone think? Monkette dvr'd the marathon and then the first episode. I liked it but am disappointed by all the commercials breaks. What's the point of tacking on the extra 30 minutes if half of it is commercials? BOOoooo!!!
I will withhold any info on the show itself until others comment so I don't do spoilers….
I hung around in chat while the show was on hoping to get an online viewing thing going…oh well…waited too late.

I wonder what the scientist whispered to Rick Grimes at the end of last season.
I've heard that it is something that will shock people, so I don't think it was that his wife is pregnant.
I also heard that it should be revealed this season. I ,for one, can't wait to find out.

Monk, I liked it overall. I did feel that the storyline dragged a bit in places. But, overall, good zombie action with a good storyline. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
Is it right that Daryl (the guy with the crossbow) seems to be one emerging as one of the most interesting characters of the show? One minute he hurling stereotypes (which makes you hate him) and the next he's saving T-Dog from the zombies (love it!) …
Chad, they are going to torture us with that Whisper the entire season aren't they!!!

I still think it's that Shane knocked up homey's wife (Rick?). I think Daryl (or however we're spelling it) is interesting as a character study as he's got a definite plot arc. He's growing as an individual realizing how important it is to put aside personal beefs for the sake of their survival. I wonder if his brother is going to resurface at some point, they didn't really give it to far to go….remember when they were in Atlanta and Rick first hooked up with the survivors, someone stole their van when they went back to get the brother. Some of these folks are starting to annoy me. The whiny blonde who's sister turned and wanted to stay at the CDC. Del should've let her stay and die. Kind of selfish on his part to deprive her of her freedom of choice. I was horrified at what happened to Rick's son, but COME ON you couldn't see that coming? Hell it wouldn't of suprised me if the other group of survivors kept the church rigged up like that to keep the walkers focused there.
Maybe i've just got vapor lock but have they actually figured out what triggered the event that caused this? How is it that some of them die and come back and others don't? Is it the amount of trauma the body suffers before "resurrection"?

The extra 30 minutes was to put in the extra commercials…there's been so much hype for this show that I guess AMC and the producers wanted to capitalize on it with more advertising money.
I think the CDC scientist whispered…."My balonga has a first name…"
And Daryl the hillbilly I think at this point hates Zombies more then minorities. Or it could be just that now he can let out his frustrations on the dead that he couldn't before.

The older woman at the farm house sounded like the Mickens Mom from True Blood. I went balistic on imdb, and was like OH NOOOO!
Thank goodness it wasn't her, they sound alike!
Like the show, way too many commericals.
I save up a few shows and watch at one time, If my thumb is going to get a workout fast frowarding, I need more show ( at least an hour without commercials) to make it be zombiefied.
