Aside from A Haunting on Discovery, I find Paranormal Witness to one of the scarier "case files" shows out there. I've heard it go both ways ... the show was very representative of a case (with just a couple of differences) and also that the show didn't accurately represent the whole picture. But then, it's a TV show. How could it give us all the complicated details of these cases?

Chad directed me to a post on Syfy recently about the case of the Hollywood Sign. One of the people involved said the telling of their story was pretty accurate with a few differences, such as the order of events or instead of walking uphill and an event happened the show depicted them walking downhill when an event happened, etc.

Yeah - I catch up with it OnDemand. Just watched the most recent episode last night. I enjoy the story telling, although I can definitely see some production tricks to up the scary value. Not sure on the accuracy - but if you want to watch a good scary story, I like it!

Definitely a bizarre episode. Strange thing about it was there were so many witnesses.....course....it is a tv show.

I guess if there really are demons out there....I would imagine they could do anything they wanted....such as making it rain from down to up, side to side, or round and round.

As it's TV I don't have a clue how much (if anything) is actually based in fact, but watching the episode purely for entertainment was very enjoyable indeed. This was a very good story too; a possession story presented in quite an original way.

I was confused though, as the description for the show on my DVR stated that two stories were to be featured, (I forget the title of the second story), although the full hour of broadcast was taken up with the possession story. Was the finale supposed to be a two hour show, so is the second story going to air this week?

A paranormal show worth watching unlike the other one on syfy (yep, I am looking at you Ghost Hunters /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> )

What could explain a liquid moving from down to up and side to side? This was one of the most bizarre paranormal cases I've ever heard of.

Sorry, I arrived back to this thread a bit late. While I'm aware of most common language differences now, I'm still trying to get used to some of the lesser known differences between American English and UK English, (despite having lived in the USA for several years!) Almost every day I come across new subtle differences between the two countries - today's nugget of information I picked up is that Americans rarely use the word "Whilst", preferring instead to just use "While" instead. ("Whilst" is considered archaic outside the UK, but is still commonly used there and would have been my choice of word when required until now.)

Not being a brit...but coming from a nation that has produced four Nobel prize winners for literature perhaps George Bernard Shaw's observation that "America and the UK are two nations divided by a common language" is funny but true ! /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
