I'm not sure whether this should have its own thread. I would like to see one thread as a resource for reading and learning.

I just re-read through the book "The Ghost Hunters Bible (Definitive Edition)" by Trent Brandon {2002}

This book contains quite a bit of information. The format, however is more encyclopedic in nature than an in depth resource book on Ghost Hunting. He seems to have included a mish-mash of theories, spirits, ghosts, para-subjects et al. This book is more a listing of subjects to further study than a "How To" instruction on investigation and research.

Any comments?

Plus – I would appreciate input from the members here as to any books that you consider good resources on investigation techniques.

I have just a few books that I use as references when researching or just reading up.

One is the Mysteries of the Unexplained by Readers Digest.

Another is a book of the Occult that I got at Barnes and Nobles

Then I have a ghost hunting book that is really out dated that I don't use much.

Then Science and the Paranormal which is a good book

then a few others that I read a little bit when I can.

I haven't read Trent Brandon's book, but I know Chad had read a book by Troy Taylor that he particularly enjoyed. I can't remember the title, but maybe he'll chime in here when he gets up from his nap. LOL

Picture Yourself Ghost Hunting by Christopher Balzano

Informative how-to guide with most of the latest accepted theories and detailed equipment guide. Also a DVD in the back with several investigations. IMHO the DVD was drawn-out and a tad boring, but hey, so is real paranormal investigating 95 percent of the time. I actually appreciated the presentation of a nuts-and-bolts investigation sans creepy music and dude, run moments.

thanks

Andy

There are recommended books in our bookstore, as well.

I have a ton of research books on my shelves…

Encyclopedia of Haunted Places

Encyclopedia of Hell

Vampire Encyclopedia

History of Hell

The powers of Evil

A delusion of Satan

Encyclopedia of Fairies

Encyclopedia of Elements of Witchcraft

Not all paranormal per se. Hum, I must have been in the Hell section when I was reading them off to type, lol. I swear that's not all I read. Most of my stuff is history related.

I write books. I take pictures.

From what I am lead to believe, no. I can only read a few pages at a time before I have a sudden urge of nausea.
