OfflineHi,
And thank you for letting me come to this forum. I want to say a few things.
First, I wish I clarified my answers to alot of the questions that were asked me. ALOT got misinterpreted by pop up Google articles that sensationalized the whole thing.
I am not perfect. I did mean what I said. I have no ill will towards anyone, I'm over it. It was an open interview where I asked the Ghost Divas to ask me anything. It was supposed to be laid back. I was VERY naive in thinking this would blow up. As I see it, I haven't been on TV for a few years now, and thought I was sorta forgotten and liked it. Well, I really like my privacy and work on the side with some paranormal professionals on investigations that I don't publicize.
Anyways, I'm not mad at anyone, just some of the things came back to memory that I got heated on. Also I never said right out things were being faked. I did have an experience where I thought something was being staged, but it wasn't right for me to say that without evidence. I'm not the smoking gun. Jason and Grant and the original team were the best. Alot has changed since then, but I do want to say that it wasn't all bad.
Please don't bash the Ghost Divas or Jason or TAPS or GH or GHI. I honestly do not want them to have any ill-will. I was expressing myself from an emotional point of view and stand by my views and vagueness. As disappointing as it is, I don't want to get sued by telling details. I have a life and don't want to take it to that point. Which brings me back to why I probably should have thought about that before doing the interview.
Sometimes I'm too honest, and sometimes I don't know when to shut up. This was one of those times. Please weight the evidence on both sides. Don't take my word for it. I'm woman enough to admit that you come up with your own conclusions.
Now, in conclusion, I really want to say that I came here, to a safe place, to express this. I talked with Jason myself on the phone and we got alot straightend out. He respects me for my views, and I respect him for his. I never NEVER said TAPS was faking evidence. Let's just be clear on that. I alluded to a moment I had that seemed that way, and I was devestated. I never said they had a "staging crew". But, again, who was behind it what evidence I have, I don't know. So, it's a mute point.
I'm not backtracking. I still don't think the production company was fair AT ALL, but that is a whole other issue. Thank you for listening. Watch the shows if you like them. I'm not saying not too. There is nothing in this interview for me but the last few days of pure hell. I'm not marketing anything, no book, no movie, no shows, no agenda. Just the truth with alot of vagueness because I don't want to lose my life over the legalities of it. It's too bad one has to shut up all together without being sued. But, that is the way it is.
My best to the shows and their fans, and to everyone on here.

All my respect and admiration for taking the time to clarify this. Thank you and best of luck Mrs. LaCroix.

OfflineDonna,
Thank you for clarifying some of the comments you made on the Ghost Divas show.
Are you able to answer any questions about your comments above?
For instance, you said:
"Also I never said right out things were being faked. I did have an experience where I thought something was being staged, but it wasn't right for me to say that without evidence. I'm not the smoking gun."
I was wondering if you are able to say who you think staged the experience you mentioned. If you can't answer, I understand.
Thanks,
Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,
I only wish I could reveal that. I didn't actually see them do it, but I figured it out and knew so when the episode aired and that part was cut out. If I told more details, I'd be sued. Again, because I have no evidence, it doesn't carry much weight. One I'm sure you'll understand. All I can say is that that was the turning point for me. It was going to my ethics vs. being on a tv show. I chose my ethics.

Donna, yes, I completely understand that without the evidence, you would be subjecting yourself to legal ramifications by calling the responsible party (parties) out.
I commend you for choosing your ethics versus a TV show, and I'm sorry to hear about the way the production company treated some of the cast members.

OfflineNot trying to be rude, but you asked people to take stuff down due to it affecting your health. So why do you keep making statements about it? Please don't take that the wrong way I am just curious.
Good question:
I am asking people to take stuff down because each one has put an untrue spin on it. I'm just here for now to say my peace and then I'm out. I wanted to pick a safe place to do that. You must understand that my comments of the interview have been a big draw for forums. This is their big ace in the hole. I don't want people to capitalize on this and twist things around. I rather be here to tell my side.
I took down my myspace because I'm don't want any more attention to this. I just felt this forum was safe from what I researched. My health has suffered due to threats and stress of it all. My phone is ringing off the hook for me to do other interviews, projects, etc. I turned them all down. I was naive to think this wouldn't get out of hand. That is my fault. But now I know better. I rather write it out now.
OfflineFor what it is worth, I can say with some certainty that any criticisms of TAPS, GH or GHI can be attributed to instances or things they did long before you did the Ghost Divas show. I am also sure that everyone appreciates your honesty but you haven’t alluded to anything that hasn’t been addressed by the paranormal community for some time now.
Don’t misunderstand. Most of us that criticize also watch every week as I am doing now. I personally enjoy most of the shows for what they are; entertainment. All shows are critiqued by people every week but mostly for being a disappointment rather than anything else. You have to remember that there are people in the community that have been doing this long before Jason & Grant or any of the TV shows.
With that said, I would like to personally thank you for responding on the PUG forums. I would also hope you didn’t just come to address this and leave. I think that you will find a lot of intelligent conversation, sharing of information, new and interesting ideas as well as a little fun now and again. I hope that with this behind us now that you might stay with and enjoy our little community here.

Thank you MysticalKnight,
But most production companies love these reality shows because cast members have rose colored glasses on of fame and fortune, but little do they know the show is going to be produced for ratings only. The cast are the least they care about. And it wasn't just the company I worked for, it is, for the most part, all production companies that produce reality shows. That's just the way it is. I didn't know any of this. None of us did in the beginning. We were just folks that met at a coffee shop every week to talk about the latest paranormal research and to organize investigations.
Being on TV, has a weird effect on people. Fame is like an addictive fine wine that once you get a drop of it, you want more and more (if you are insecure with yourself). I have some insecurities, but I never fell for the fame thing. I always felt funny about signing autographs and while my co-cast members were selling merchandise left and right, I just couldn't. It didn't feel right for me. So, obviously I'm not cut out for TV. I've seen fame and money turn best friends into enemies; I've seen people forget their other life for the production life on the road; I've seen alot.
Also, when filming GH and GHI, I have to say, it is hard work. It takes an incredible amount of stamina and I commend all the guys and gals in the cast and crew doing the shows. It is NOT easy work, even though editing makes it look easy. We had 18 hr days, 6 days a week sometimes. And being international, flying from one time zone to another every other week or so does a number on your body. Sleep deprivation, not eating right, being cranky, missed flights, all comes with the territory. And not seeing your family for weeks at a time takes its toll on a personal level. It is a big sacrifice they all make to do these shows. You can't have a life while you are filming; that is your life. You are with 20 or so other people that become your family, whether you like it or not. You all go through the good, bad, and he ugly together. That's why 1/2 the time we were yawning or trying not to fall asleep.
When coming home, its like you've arrived back from another planet. It really is. It is that intense. So, as much as I have to say about my experiences with the content of the show, etc., they do put alot into it. And of course doing so, they want it to be successful. And what makes a TV show successful? Evoking the audience by fear, anger, or saddness. Boring doesn't have a place in a successful TV show. A real paranormal investigation is the most boring hobby one could have, but is rewarding. You have to have alot of patience. TV doesn't have time for that; they have 43 minutes plus commercials to make you scared, tell a story, and end with an exciting conclusion.
I wish I had known all of this in the beginning. It is an interesting field TV production. But making a "reality" TV show that's based on a real life serious paranormal organization can be a clashing of two worlds. It's hard to keep that balance. And one involved must make a choice.
That's how it all goes.

Your description of how difficult your shooting schedule is mirrors what Shannon Sylvia said in her interview here. It sounds like such an intense schedule that it must be hard to just enjoy the surroundings most times.
Reality TV doesn't sound very real. I've always had an issue with the editing on many of the paranormal shows. It definitely is misleading at times.

Good on you that you spoke out about your experiences, however, there comes a point that you must own up and follow through. If you are going to tell the truth, cut out the vagueness. I understand the legal part of this situation, but frankly, you might have thought about that before you agreed to the interview. You had to know that you were going to be asked questions that may have made you emotional and/or uncomfortable; you said they could ask you anything. With a show as controversial as Gh has been, there was bound to be sticky questions.
With that being said, even if you were naive and didn't think you were going to create problems, well, you did. What you did was create a sh*t storm for yourself, GH and Ghost Divias. I am not adverse to causing a stir, but if you do create one, own up to it. Speak as frankly as you possibly can, because otherwise you lose your credibility.
If you are wanting all of this to go away, the very best thing you can do at this point is zip it. I'm not saying that is what you should do, but if you want it gone, that's the quickest way.
I mean no harm in any of my comments here, it's just my opinion of the situation. Frankly, I'm not in the situation myself, you are, so anything anyone here, or elsewhere, says is pure speculation. You, my dear, are the only one that knows the truth, and it's up to you how much you want to reveal.
Good luck,

OfflineSad that you can't tell the real story because of a fear of a lawsuit. I am assuming that is some kind contract clause……….
How long must wait until you are in the clear to share your experiences? Years? The life of the show? Forever?
That is a very good question. I'm figuring another 85 years at this point! No, not sure, probably another 10.
OfflineDonna,
Since you posted your original thread today, I've received some PMs from members here who suspect you are being bullied (specifically by TAPS and Jason and Grant) to retract what you said on the Ghost Divas program. I wanted to ask you if there is any truth to that?
Thanks,
Cheryl
No, I'm not being bullied by Jason or Grant. I've talked with Jason via phone and we got to clear the air on certain issues. It was handled very professionally and respectfully.
OfflineI know there are several people who are upset that you or someone else hasn't come forward and said that TAPS has faked stuff. I'm glad you are saying what you are saying and not allowing people to put words in your mouth. I like others have our suspicions but no proof. To me it doesn't really matter. Ghost Hunters is a TV show and is entertainment only.
It is great to have someone post here that does have some inkling and knowledge of what happens on the show. I would love to read some articles about how TAPS does their setup and investigations, mainly stuff that doesn't make it on the show.
I hope you stick around and post often. This is a good group here and everyone is willing to share their opinions and respect others for their opinions.

I can't follow trough and I don't have to. I gave some tidbits, but I'm certainly not going to lose everything I've earned in a legal battle over it. I don't believe I created the storm; I believe it was it was the job of those that wante to capitalize on it. This is as frankly as I can speak about it. Think about it. I don't see any other paranormal celeb coming forward like I did, and they won't because they know what is on the line.
Listen, I only came here to clear up some stuff, and now I will take your advice and go away. Just wanted to have a chance to speak truthfully about the way things went down. Thank you all for hearing me out. Best to you. I will go now.
