Talk about using a little sensationalism to draw in viewers. I don't believe any historian has every proven where Adolph Hitler perished, how do they know where his spirit hangs out? With all his atrocities I imagine he had a special pass for his soul straight to the abyss of eternal damnation. New episode of GHI tonight, they are usually worth watching and generally seem more genuine than plain ole GH to me. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rolleyes:' />

They did dna of a bone at Hitler's supposed grave in Germany.
What they found was a small fragment of a bone.
It was from a female around fourty years of age.

Agreed. Poor taste I think, but I am sure a lot of folks will tune in as usual. I like GHI much more than GH, but as Ryan stated, I think I will take a pass on this one as well…

I wholeheartedly agree – I was just flipping through channels and came across this episode. How offensive and disgusting. A true piece of sensationalism that proves what a piece of garbage this show is.

I didn't watch, I think they went too far and I agree.
If you think about it from just point of wanting to talk to a ghost why would you want to talk to Hitler, I don't get it.
My grandma was gassed in a camp, and my mom got away. I don't have a problem talking about it, but it's just not what to conduct an investigation on.
But, I'm aware of the jewish community, and I would think there will be letters to GHI, syfy, and pilgrim, from them.
Most times these types of things don't go unnoticed.
I feel this way about the twin towers 911 and cried when I viewed pearl harbor.
Maybe some things should just be left alone.

On a serious note. Recently declassified Soviet documents state that his remains were reburied many times and all that is left is a small piece of skull and they have it. Besides he was a fanatic and wouldn't leave what he created under any circumstances but death in my opinion. I also don't believe his failing health in 1945 could have been treated adequately enough for him to escape to Argentina and live until 1962 like they said.
Aside from that, it was in poor taste especially with all the other places in the world they could go. The places are still interesting but Robb just rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

I don't know but, I could really use some DT. I was getting into The Haunted on Ap, guess they had just a few shows.
So many paranormal shows and so few are entertaining for me, anymore.

i started watching i guess more from an incredulous point of view than anything else; i couldn't believe they were actually going to go around attempting to summon AH. after hearing exactly that done for 5 minutes i changed channels.
i would be offended at an episode trying to summon the spirits of children who have died from cancer at a children's hospital. there are some things that just shouldn't be done. i have nothing against trying to connect with an individual child who happened to die from cancer, but turning it into a sideshow would sicken me.
it is one thing for someone intensely connected with a (possibly paranormal) situation that affected and stills affects so many to seek information thru investigation; it is another thing completely to do it on television for ratings. jmho.

There is a small group here in OK that has made several trips to the OKC bombing memorial museum and grounds for the sole purpose of harvesting evp. They keep talking about the great stuff they are gettting, but thankfully none of it has hit their facebook. I just shake my head. Some lines shoudln't be crossed out of respect. Some folks just don't understand the concept of decency and respect when the carrot of evps and such is dangled in front of them. I guess it boils down to investigator morality, but you will never catch me there trying to get such results.

When I first saw the promo for this GHI pisode, I thought the team would be in Berlin in the Bunker, which is still there – but not open to the public. It is now paved over with a parking lot. It is accessable from somewhere, but not sure where and one needs govt permission to enter it. Historians, scientists et al have been granted permission after the fall of the Wall, but not many. I have read a great many books on WWII (Pre and Post also). My Father was a Fighter Pilot stationed in North Africa – his missions were over Italy. Dad has probably read (and owns) every book ever written on this subject. Hence my interest.
1) Hitler and Eva Braun were never "buried" there. After their suicide, they were carried up to the small courtyard outside and placed in a shallow crater left by the Russian bombing. Gasoline was poured over them in an attempt to burn the bodies. It didn't work. It takes more than just gasoline to burn a body to ash. The partially charred bodies were left in place as most of those present fled the Bunker – except Goebbels, his family and a few adjuncts. Goebbels and his Frau poisoned their 6 children and then ordered an adjunct to shoot them in the head in the courtyard. This was done and their bodies were also doused with gasoline and set afire. Their bodies did not burn either. Their charred bodies were identified by the Russians as were the bodies of Hitler and Eva Braun (Newly married to Hitler).
2) Here the "story" of Hitler's remains becomes murky. The Russians entered the Bunker before the Americans and removed all of the bodies. The Russians have put out many different "versions" of what happened to the bodies over the years. They were brought to Russia and appartently moved more than a few times. There are two current versions of what happened – 1) The remains were totally destroyed by some order and 2) The remains were "lost".
3) Now that Communist Russia has fallen, the current govt has put out that they have "pieces" of the remains for analysis. Forensic analysis has proven that these pieces are not those of Hitler or Braun. But, to be sure, DNA linking to Hitler is impossible, as NO ONE knows for certain whether he has any surviving family members. Hitler himself buried his own family background in the attempt to recreate his image.
So where would Hitler's "ghost" be? Certainly not in Russia and most definitely NOT in Argentina. I laughed out loud many times while I watched this GHI episode. How stupid can they be? How stupid do they think WE are? I won't even start on the morality of trying to contact Hitler. But, Geeze-O-Pete – if you want to do that – the most probable place to try would be the Bunker where he committed suicide. Historians have to wait years before being granted permission to visit the Bunker. I sincerely doubt that the German Government would allow "Ghost Hunters" to investigate there.
