Getting a free tattoo under the auspices of a research experiment? Really? You guys are really going to try to sell that to us? I mean hey, it works out great for the tattoo parlor, they get tons of extra business and the artist gets to use it for his portfolio, but this is a joke. They managed to work getting a free tattoo into their investigation and have the audacity to pass it off as research related. And, fwiw, the palette of the imager is changing due to averaging in reference the heat being generated by the tattoo gun. If you want a rock stable palette, then make sure that the tattoo gun isn't in the image, or lock your temp range and you will get a stable average of emitted heat from the investigator. The quick "cold spots" are the sensor recalibrating, they do that continuously…FLIR imagers simply freeze the image if a recalibration is necessary so as not to disturb the image. The thermal imager used was the RAZ-IR by SPI. Good imager, not as an intuitive software interface as FLIR or Fluke imagers, but a very powerful imager for the price. As for their temp drops, thermal imagers cannot detect airborne cold spots, they can only detect heat emitted or reflected off of solid objects. If a cold spot is affecting a solid object, then yes it would show.

I tried to like this show, giving it ample opportunity to take off, but honestly this went a little to far. It's not Extreme Paranormal bad, but I hope not to see this show in rotation after the halloween season. Their theories are either repackaged versions of other theories or are vague in nature. Their experiments are suspect as they pass their judgement of validity on after one attempt in poorly controlled environments. I hoped for so much more, but the tattoo thing, well that was just insulting to the intelligence of the viewer and personally the last straw.

rant over, lol..

I admit that the first investigation last night was kinda boring. It didn't do much for me. Now the second one which was done in Fort Worth was interesting albeit short. I had only heard of Miss Molly's a week or so ago. I actually enjoyed the talk they had with the Neurospecialist. They were spot on with all the seismic activity the D/FW area had been getting recently.

I have to agree Andy about the Tattoo relationship and such as nonsense but the show is worth watching. I mean its not perfect by any means but they do do some things I like. I liked how they pointed out when the camera man "contaminated" the investigation and noted they like to keep the number of people at a minimum. How they at least contact someone on a perceived professional level when searching for input. They do seem to jump to conclusions too soon and I have a hard time equating an EVP with a previously living person's voice tone but it's OK for entertainment at least compared to Extreme Paranormal. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

"They insisted that the victim animals simply had died of dog bites from dogs or other animals. They suggested that disease might have been responsible for one animal's death. They denied that the victims had been exsanguinated, as many witnesses had claimed, and even suggested that the puncture wounds reported might be from barbed wire. Callers reminded them that some wounds were deep enough to reach into the victims' lungs, that the flesh was not torn as in dog bites, that signs of struggles were inexplicably missing, and that corpses did not decay normally, but their arguments were brushed aside. Also brushed aside were callers' attempts to bring extraterrestrials into the conversation.

When the recording ended. I rewound it and played it again and again. I still could not believe what I was hearing. The callers had the skeptics pinned against the ropes from the very first call." - Scott Corrales

That's okay but they should really do an EXTENSIVE background check on this one!!!

Ok, so the show wasn't or isn't exactly what the shows before it have been at least

they are having fun! I'm gonna bare it out and see if these guys can pull a show together.

The way they investigate might just prove to be a method. Not the method but at least one of them!

There are faults with all the shows out there. I'm just enjoying some of the locations and equipment that GL has.

Last episode of GhostLab Mid November – Investigating a restaurant where silverware seemed to move – the pre show teasers showed

a cook / chef saying "I looked up and the knife was coming at me" Then one of the the brothers says "there it is, we caught that knife up in the air"

When I viewed the show, what they really caught was gravity dropping a knife into a cup it was laid on the edge of……

I realize the teasers are generated by the network and of course beyond human control.

However I did remember an episode of Ghost Hunters that addressed the silverware moving and by serendipity they discovered it was magnetized. I wish this possibility had been looked at as this is the second restaurant with the same issue in question- To preclude this because silverware is stainless steel is not valid because magnetism works on materials that allow the alignments of electrons to be pulled into a particular preferred orientation. Some stainless steels, because of the way the nickel combines with the iron, produce a grain structure that has the electrons aligned randomly and precludes the atoms from being free to move into the orientation that we identify as magnetic.Other stainless alloys can be magnetic.

The magnetism was of interest only because of the parallel with the TAPS episode another restaurant with moving silverware. Not believing in coincidence, a little low tech investigation on my part revealed that to prevent silverware accidentally being thrown – out most large restaurants use a magnetic trash filter (see) http://www.wasserstrom.com/res…..urant-supp…/Product_125905

Was not they and can't say but would be nice if they had checked for magnetic causes.

Having the occasion to debate one of the brothers Klinge on another board, I would have to concur that he had an inflated self-image. Takes one to know one.

I'm pissed right now. For some reason my DVR didn't record last week's episode. They went to the Catfish Plantation which was where my group was supposed to have gone earlier this month. Guess that's another episode I'll have to keep an eye out for.

Discovery channel is re-running this episode tonight 11/21. So you get a second chance.

Sweet, I have the DVR set up for Monday when it re-airs during the afternoon. I'm on duty right now so I can't promise I'd get to see it tonight. Thanks for the head up though.

Any and every TV show is about ratings, viewers, and advertising dollars. Ghost Lab, like Ghost Hunters, is no different. There is so much editing that goes on that it's hard to believe anything within the context it is presented in. It's entertainment and you're fooling yourself if you take it as anything other than that.

I wouldn't believe a single thing the brothers K had to say, beyond they were in this for the money, and/or were attention hoes.

For these guys, my bet would be on the attention. The money will follow, certainly, but right now, it's for the attention.

I visited their website yesterday and found it to be pretty deserted datawise. Short of plugging their merch, some surveillance company, and an upcoming convention where you can ghosthunt with the Klinge brothers at Catfish Plantation (100 bones), I didn't not really see anything of merit with their site. Only exception is their bios and an article about using dogs on investigation. Their site looks good, but is clearly a storefront (like another well-known televised group) and it looks like you have to have some sort of paid membership to see the meat and potatoes of the site. Too bad, as I don't plan on being an EP citizen anytime soon.

BTW, as I was watching last night, it hit me what my problem was with this show. It can be boiled down to one person: Brad. I really cannot stand that guy. Rest of the show is a little weak, but could probably stand on it's own with Barry alone. I certainly wouldn't mind not seeing Brad patting himself on the shoulder every five minutes for weak data and reheated theories. I was pleased to see the reflected temperature drop on the chair last night, proving that while thermal imaging cannot detect open-air cold spots, it can detect surface temperature anomalies and has a place in paranormal tool kits. Only problem is that I bet the EP staff still think that they were detecting a cold spot and not the secondary result of something affecting the emitted/reflected temp. of the chair itself, which was actually the case. Still was a good ep. last night, for that footage alone.
