Probably next season....weren't they supposed to be using "head cams" this season? To the best of my knowledge they've only used them once.

Yeah, there's no feathers ruffled here, either. As I said, I think you're right on the money for the most part. I take absolutely no offense whatsoever. There is indeed a difference, and its good to know there is a difference.

As for me I can see the difference between paranormal investigator and ghost hunter, but I see it mostly to the public as a matter of a marketing term. My opinion between the two is this: A ghost hunter is a person or group that is out there to satisfy their curiosity about the paranormal. They may or may not help clients but it doesn't matter to them. A paranormal investigator is there to help the client and try to debunk natural occurrences that they or the client encounter. Also the person or group can go back and forth between the two. For example my group are mainly investigators but we have done ghost hunting at places like the Myrtles. Yeah we debunked some stuff but we were there to relax and have fun, no client involved.

I believe that PIs also educate the public in regards to the paranormal whereas the ghost hunter doesn't really do this.

as one who is neither a hunter nor an investigator but merely an 'experiencer' (i think i just made up a word there...) i am finding this thread extremely educational and i thank all involved for their input.

The term I think you probably fall under would be Paranormal Examiner. It about half of both and no one can dispute it. Although if a person chooses to just experience what is around them then Paranormal Experiencer sounds good.

I personally don't see it as semantics. Since the definitions of both are fairly opposite. Then again, in this field where no one really cares and more people seem against standardization than for it. I guess people can call themselves anything they want these days and others will just have to take them at their word. For me it is kind of sad as I have seen many places that have closed their doors to ghost hunters due to people making false representations.
