I didn't see a thread started for GHA yet and wanted to know what everyone thought.

To me, it's one giant ego stroker for Steve.

Kinda sad, with hm leading the one guy down the wrong road with the cigarette smoke. I thought that was sneaky.

And breaking protocol by sending Heathyr off on her own? *shakes head*

What is your opinion of the show?

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

I haven't watched yet. I should have an episode taped. Was yesterday the debut?

I posted about the show last night down in Heidi's The Horse Epi, thread.

Was too tired to make a thread.

The show rates 5 oie veys, for me.

Scale 1-5, 5 being the worst.

Have not seen it yet, but the comparison given on another forum sums it up for me. Real world meets ghost hunters.

I tried to watch it last night when it aired, but I couldn't make it through the first 5 minutes. I will, however, give the rest of last night's show a watch. Eventually, lol…

regards

Actually there is a difference in the smell of pre-fab cigarettes as opposed to hand rolled !

So they were both running sideways down goofy street. I, on occasion, hand roll my own Van Nelle

cigarettes and having smoked both I can attest to the fact that there is a huge difference in the odor.

Just had to get that out there for everyone to know, can't have SteveO thinking he is really as clever

as he obviously believes himself to be. I'll agree with the 5 scale listed above!

More often than not, the first couple of shows of a new series always seem awkward to me, like the people are still finding their rhythm. I still haven't sat down to watch this one yet, but hopefully it will get better as the newness calms down.

I've heard and read waaaay too many comments about how horrible, annoying, torturous, hypocritical and worthless this show is everywhere by a lot of different people. I'm not wasting any time on it. There are more important, exciting, and noteworthy shows on TV to watch instead of this one, or I'm just not home enough to care about trying to watch it. All of that rolled into one.

IMO, You have not missed anything, Michelle. I agree with your observation that it often takes a few episodes for a show to find it's footing, but I'd be amazed if this show manages that kind of development. Frankly, based on the first episode, I'm not even interested enough to continue viewing.

It was kind of boring to me. I just have a hard time with Steve and Tango being touted as experts. I guess it was Mike Rowe doing the narration. The verbiage he used when describing Steve was hard to stomach, as if he was some kind of leading expert in the paranormal field. The people doing the investigations seemed enthusiastic enough but reporting to Gonsalves and Tango seemed like reporting to substitute teachers. /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

"They insisted that the victim animals simply had died of dog bites from dogs or other animals. They suggested that disease might have been responsible for one animal's death. They denied that the victims had been exsanguinated, as many witnesses had claimed, and even suggested that the puncture wounds reported might be from barbed wire. Callers reminded them that some wounds were deep enough to reach into the victims' lungs, that the flesh was not torn as in dog bites, that signs of struggles were inexplicably missing, and that corpses did not decay normally, but their arguments were brushed aside. Also brushed aside were callers' attempts to bring extraterrestrials into the conversation.

When the recording ended. I rewound it and played it again and again. I still could not believe what I was hearing. The callers had the skeptics pinned against the ropes from the very first call." - Scott Corrales

It seems like they are promoting the heck out of the show too, when I got home from work yesterday, I turned on the TV, the channel was still on SYFY from the night before, and GHA was on at like 4 PM….so I looked at the schedule through my directv, and it shows that GHA will be playing about 10-12 times over the weekend….geeeesh. /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I got an email from Sy Fy on Tuesday saying Ghost Hunters Academy was on tonight, meaning Tuesday night.

Then I checked Tuesday night, for GHA. No GHA.

They are promoting so much, they don't know what night it's on. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

This was a HUGE problem for me right off the bat. How Mike started with GH and worked through GHI ending with GHA being the next best thing? Sheesh, gag me already!

Okay, true. However, GHA will prove to be a wonderful fountain of fodder for snarky comments. You don't want to miss the fun, do you?

Well, I will watch one more episode for an educated opinion but I don’t think it is really needed. This show is obviously to just add another show to keep GH on top of all the other new ones being but out. Second, I apologize to all the JH fans but he is the most egotistical person I have seen on these type shows. He always shows a tough guy attitude and loves to be in charge. His comments at the beginning of the show almost made me turn it off. Steve isn’t much better but we all know he is a JH clone besides I have never seen people with less knowledge of paranormal investigation.

Besides, it was obvious from the first minutes that all these kids want is to get on TV. I mean come on. The one girl wants to make a career out of paranormal investigation? Poor kid is going to starve. Then again like JH said. Maybe if they are good enough they can get on GHI but if they are real good they might have a chance at getting on GH itself. Wow!

Ok, before people start throwing meadow muffins at me. I don’t want to turn this into a GH bashing thread. I watch all the shows but their attitudes grind my gears most of the time. I understand the fans but the belief that they are the standard of the field turns me off. Kudos for their TV success but that was their goal from the beginning. JH probably does come off as a nice guy too, initially but so did Ted Bundy.

For me personally JH and Steve make me switch channels a lot. Grant is too wishy washy and Tango looks like a deer caught in the headlights. Maybe Grant and Tango should get their own show.

Well, sorry for the complaining.
