What did everyone think? I watched until 12:30 EST. I thought it was pretty good. These guys are so such more into finding things than J&G. Apparently later they got upset with Hess the Parabot dude because he threw his recording device and claimed that an entity did it and Zak confronted him about it, is that true? I'm not sure what to make of Fleming device and the reliability of it?

"They insisted that the victim animals simply had died of dog bites from dogs or other animals. They suggested that disease might have been responsible for one animal's death. They denied that the victims had been exsanguinated, as many witnesses had claimed, and even suggested that the puncture wounds reported might be from barbed wire. Callers reminded them that some wounds were deep enough to reach into the victims' lungs, that the flesh was not torn as in dog bites, that signs of struggles were inexplicably missing, and that corpses did not decay normally, but their arguments were brushed aside. Also brushed aside were callers' attempts to bring extraterrestrials into the conversation.

When the recording ended. I rewound it and played it again and again. I still could not believe what I was hearing. The callers had the skeptics pinned against the ropes from the very first call." - Scott Corrales

All I can say is Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Fell asleep around midnight or so.

In comparison to their shorter shows it was disappointing, boring and seemed to focus more on hawking useless gadgets for the people that believe these things find ghosts.

Flemming’s performance wasn't believable either but then I never found him credible anyway and Mark and Debby looked like Deer caught in headlights.

Sorry but for me it was a SHOW in every sense of the word and not very good performances. Zak seem like he is getting way over the top in his performances.

I guess that is to be expected from people that weren't ghost hunters to begin with but people looking to break into showbiz using the paranormal's popularity. Got to give them Kudos for that. They parlayed their talents into a successful TV show.

I missed it, but I'll catch tonight's "event."

There was an incident with a guy? I got a phone call just as they were pulling out the parabot and missed the rest of the show. (It was a long conversation – but a good one).

I missed the incident with throwing the recording device. I watched a few hours, I have to give these guys credit about their energy level.

They were still going strong when I fell asleep. A lot more energy, than GH live events.

In general, I think the live events are just too long for me to watch. I get bored a few hours into them.

Not a fan of Flemmings, and would of liked the show to be just the GA guys. Not sure, why they needed the other people to investigate.

The text messages at the bottom of screen, I think distracts from the investigation. I guess they want the interaction.

This was the best live event, I watched so far.

Still would like to see DT, with Josh and his gang do a live event.

Love to be a fly on the wall at one of these live events, just to see the production and how it's all pulled together.

I didn't get to see most of it but will try and catch it on replay. It's on today right? lol

I heard there were some interesting gadgets, so I'd love to see them in use.

I only managed to record the last few hours of it so if anything happened then I will be the last to know about it. From what I watched of it, it wasn't too bad. A lot of drama in it, maybe they were hoping to scare away any homeless people.

I'm slightly confused, is there an actual live part tonight, or is it just a rebroadcast of last night that's starting now? /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

K -just went back and watched "the throw". Yeah – it looked like he threw it AND his explanation to Zak was a little weird. "Have to keep my arm bent." Um – I've never had to keep my arm bent when carrying a piece of investigative equipment. I just don't think he realized the camera was right on him.

I am watching now to review "the throw". I'm not sure what is up with Bess, but whatever he tried to do, the reality of paranormal research won't be tarnished by his actions. The only thing he accomplished was tarnishing himself. Necer thought much of him anyway.

I think it's a rebroadcast of last night's investigation.

And I still missed the replay. Between trick or treating, upset tummies and the World Series, I'm booked solid! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I have emailed the parties involved – I'm hoping for some commentary. If I get some, you know I'll blog about it.

I finally got to get through it on the DVR. I must say that I really enjoyed it. Despite the obvious throw of the emf meter (in fact, if you caught the review from Dave Schrader, the screen was even captioned "the throw". Pretty obvious what they all thought about it.). Interesting Bess' position, considering when something grabs something out of your hand and lifts, your first instinctual reaction would be to hold on harder and pull. Clearly that did not happen, in fact rather than try to retain his meter, Mr. Bess gave it an old-fashioned lob. He just destroyed his credibility in the field and I am betting that it was probably due to behavior like this that his original "3 mile lock" experiment footage never saw the light of day on CBS. I am very disappointed in him.

As for the rest of the show, Chris Fleming was simply being Chris Fleming, and the spirit box session did nothing to help the ghost box research community. The "voices" were clearly radio frag from a strong station at the end of the band. Anyone who does ghost box research would automatically discount that kind of audio. I like Chris Fleming, though, and enjoy his enthusiasm. M and D Constantino were a little over the top, but not obnoxiously so, and I enjoyed their segments as well. The GA guys were their typical selves, and I enjoyed watching.

I was disappointed to see that yet again, Bill Chappell was a no show to something that heavily hyped his participation. This is getting annoying, he no-showed at the QM for the psience fair, and then he wasn't available for this one after he was billed as part of the investigation. This ticks me off because I always make an effort to hear him on podcasts and watch/see him during lectures or specials. This is twice in a row now, and disappointing people that are looking forward to seeing you is not the way to sell more of your gadgets.

All in all, I loved the show. It was extremely well put together and I enjoyed the input of Dave Schrader and Jeff Bellanger. Dean Haglund made an excellent host, and I thought the show was very fluid and maintined watchability throughout. I am certainly looking forward to next year's event.

As far as Robert Bess goes, may he enjoy the community ostracism he has earned and join the likes of Kristyn Gartland, Brian Harnois, Dave Oester, etc… and trade stories about their 15 minutes. Kudos for the GA team that did not let obvious fakery ruin a great show. Kudos to Zack for calling him on it at the end. Kudos to Dave for delicately handling what was obviously a very hot topic and one capable of hurting the show if mishandled. I thought they did a good job of self-policing on that one.

Good job GAC and guests, look forward to next year!

Andy

I wonder what kind of relationship Zak had with Robert Bess before this debacle. I have a feeling he had to beg to let them give him a chance to show his Parabot work which is very risky for a live show. I had a feeling it would not do what he said it would and was curious how something that supposedly generated 1 million watts was going to be powered with anything portable. No wonder Zak was pissed, he could've damaged their credibility. /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Indeed, I think the GA guys as well as the hosts handled it the only way they could to diffuse it from becoming something as notorious as collargate. Bess was supposed to do a containment on the Queen Mary for darkness radio and that never "materialized" (pardon the pun). I am thinking that Dave Schrader did some pushing for his inclusion into the event, and I doubt he will do so in the future. I meant to listen to tonite's darkness radio where the whole show is devoted to this subject. It still angers me that this antic puts all paranormal research in a bad light, but I couldn't be more pleased by GA staff's self-policing.

We DVR'd it and will get around to watching it over the next week. What we'll end up doing is "fast watching" it, and if we see anything exciting or questionable we'll watch it. That place is too close to streets and surrounding houses. It'd be hard to get a real, controlled EVP there. It's a beautiful facility. We visited it last year in fall and the surrounding hilly and tree-filled views were really pretty and added to the castle-like feel of isolation.

So this "throwing" bit, about how far into the show did it happen?

I didn't bother dvr-ing it. I didn't want any tuner conflicts interfering w/me watching my beloved phillies getting killed by the yankees, in hind sight I probably should've watched it…sheesh!
