OfflineNot that it's worth anything in the grand scheme of things, but I don't believe you ever would. You go out of your way to be honest and unbiased. That's why you bend over backwards to give people the benefit of the doubt.
You trust. I do not. You accept. I analyse.
One is not better than the other. Just different.
Yup – difference in world view. Absolutely. I sort of think the world needs both to go around, actually. You know what's funny? You just described the differences between Jim (hubby) and me. Apparently I need that balance in my life.
I will tell you this. I do trust, and I do accept. Once someone has broken that trust, however, it becomes incredibly difficult for me to ever trust that person again. So I'd say I trust until I'm shown I shouldn't. Then, fuggedaboudit.
I appreciate that you say that you don't believe I would fake evidence. I don't believe I would, either. See – we have some common viewpoints.
OfflineYup. Good point. I was on my high horse. Just got off of it.
No biggie.
I tend to sound like I'm lecturing and a big know-it-all, and it's annoying as all get out!!
But I do respect you, Karen. I do. I also know Regan, and I know she's as ethical as they come. We just view the world differently in some regards.

Thanks, I appreciate that. It's mutual.
Yep – Regan is as ethical as they come, that's for sure. That is why I like working with her. I know that what she says will be straight forward and honest.
I do worry that all of the discussion of television paranormal being fake will lead people to believe that it's all fake – which is sad. I know people like Regan who work their tails off and come up with some pretty amazing and credible evidence. I'd hate to see it dismissed because of discussions like this one.

maybe it's not these discussions that should bother you,
but the people who fake evidence and make legit people
look bad in the process.
and by this i'm not saying J&G, i'm not saying anyone
in particular, but in the scheme of life and even TV
there are people out there faking evidence and ripping
people off.

I have no doubt in my mind that there are. And yep – it is a darn shame because there is no need to fake stuff. There's some amazing evidence out there.

I'm always afraid people will decide these shows are fake, and as a result not believe in the paranormal at all.
I do believe in spooks, I do believe in spooks, I do I do I do (sorry – watched Wizard of Oz last night).
I'm afraid the shows are giving credible investigators a bad name. And slowing down research and funding. For me, that's why I tend to grab the rope and want to hang people like Jason and Grant. Personally, I'm fully convinced they are faking.
But I am no skeptic when it comes to the paranormal. I've had so many personal experiences. And, daggone it, I want answers!! So I come off as preachy and dogmatic.

I agree /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
The truth is sooo much better than fiction. I'm really hoping someday someone will capture that special piece of evidence. And, of course, it will be analysed to death /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
OfflineYou know what's funny? I have always been really on the fence about the existence of ghosts. I thought that I knew what it would take to convince me permanently and forever. I've gotten all of that in spades at Wellington. And yet, now here I am less than a month out of the Wellington experience with a ton of evidence and some major personal experiences unlike any I've had before, and I still think, "huh – but yeah – I wonder if there could be different interpretations of the evidence?" It's why I firmly believe that each person has to decide for themselves. I think I know something – but the truth is, do I really know it?
OfflineTruth be told my wife and I enjoy GH. I know its fake and I dont care really. I think its fun to watch them dupe people. My wife sit there on the sofa and laugh at them mostly. Especially when Steve and Tango come out with their rockhead conversations. When they talk through flashlights we really laugh hard

/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> Been there done that. The joys of reality tv, it's a hoot!
This show has what, like 5 minutes of paranormal.
It's about them, and following them along hunt, imo.
Even though, I like the earlier epi's better.
So much more drama. The disagreements between the cast. It made the show seem more like real life people.
They get all get along to well now. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I do think everyone has to decide for themselves.
My curiosity for seeking answers just leads me to more questions.
Ten years ago, I felt I had to know the truth.
It bothered me, now I realize, I'm not going to know.
The good thing for me along this path, I find answers to many other things along the way. I learn things.
For me, it's good enough.
OfflineJust an FYI: Paranormal Underground magazine doesn't just interview "big names."
Far from it. We quite often feature local groups or members of local groups doing some great work in the field. Most of our readership has never heard of many of the groups or individuals we feature. A perfect example of this is Michelle Pillow's interview with WPRS in this past issue (November).
So … we cover BOTH local paranormal groups and TV paranormal investigators. One of the primary reasons Chad and I created the magazine was to feature local groups, which we will always do.

OfflineI had a lot of questions about all of this.
Today I have just one, and wondering what everyone thinks.
Say you were Donna, your on Gh and noticed something on the set, that was not kosher with you.
Do you take the new job, GHI, with the same company pilgrim?
Or do you follow the once burnt, rule.
I'm fairly passionate, about the things I do. I would probably take the new job and think I could make a difference.

That's a great question Symp!
For me, it really depends on the situation. If I knew for a fact someone faked something, I wouldn't want to be involved with them in the future. If I had suspicions but couldn't prove anything, I might take the new job with the same company thinking I could make a difference, and be on the lookout for faked evidence. It just really depends on the details of the situation.

It's one reson why I'm here, interest in the local investigator. What they do and how do they do it. I would like to investigate one day, so I read everyone's ideas and how they go about it. I'm maiking my own little list of what I'd do. It's a great place for ideas.
It's what I like about PUG, and the forum.

Thank you Symp! This is why it's one of our primary goals here at Paranormal Underground. Who knows who will make a breakthrough in this field? It could be anyone, anywhere.

OfflineYou know, this whole "debate" kind of reminds me of a quote we have on our website:
"Skeptic does not mean him who doubts, but him who investigates or researches as opposed to him who asserts and thinks that he has found." – Miguel de Unamuno, "Essays and Soliloquies," 1924.
In relation to the topic, it seems there are people (all over the internet) that view this as something supporting their opinion of the show as fake, while others are waiting for the proof. Better yet – it sort of reminds me of the times standing in line at the supermarket and reading the headlines of the National Inquirer! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
OfflineThis is just like the cigarrette conspiracy! Who will be the next informer to step out and expose the truth!
PS> Hey PUG should do an article on all the controversy surrounding GH, and give GH a chance to speak up on it, along with DOnna. I would read that article for sure. It would get splattered in every para-forum across the net for sure.

We are not about controversy here at PUG. Now, we could do an article telling all sides of what happened and let our readers decide for themselves.
I would be down with that.
