Kudos to you Donna ! Firstly for posting here, and for being open enough to invite peeps to have a personal chat. Secondly for making people aware of crohns, my father suffered in silence with it for years. You seem very pleasant and down to earth. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Hi Donna! I really hope you stick around and post in the paranormal threads to share ideas, and your experiences in the paranormal.

This is my favorite part of the forum.

I think sharing can be positive, and your or anyones input could help investigators and people. It's also nice just hear the different views.

Stick around, please.

I'll add my two cents worth as well, and wish you Donna, all the best. It has been refreshing to read all your posts and to see how down to earth you really are. I enjoyed reading your posts in the past through your myspace page, and see how in tune to the earth you really are. You showed a love for the environment and a love for helping people out. I give you a pat on the back for your willingness to help others and being there for a shoulder to cry on.

I remember reading in the past where you talked about being on a new show, but only if you were the executive producer, and your show would focus more on the aspect of teaching and helping those affected by the paranormal. Granted this show would probably never see the light of day as its entertaining value is low therefore not good enough for any network. Its a shame, but it would be nice to maybe read about. PUG would be a nice avenue for you to write about some of your experiences in helping others and the outcomes as well. Maybe some food for thought….I sincerely hope you stick around and maybe contribute from time to time…

Hi Perpetual,

Please come over to my myspace at http://www.myspace.com/donna_j…..an_lacroix. I invite you to a personal conversation over there.

Best Regards,

~Donna

Self promote much? Looks to me from this and other posts that you're trying to build your following on myspace. Why don't you just say what you have to say right here? Your words say you want to put this whole thing behind you. Your actions are speaking otherwise. Sorry you can't have it both ways. You want to retain your pseudo celebrity status looking like some sort of victim. Sorry, but your 15 minutes is up.

Bronzino, yeah right. Publicity stunt? You must be kidding? If you only knew what I've been through the last 2 weeks. I don't have anything to sell, no movies in the making, no books. I dare you to go on TV, be yourself, and then take the heat. I dare you. You then come back to me and ask me if this was a publicity stunt. No amount of money in the world could ever make me do this interview again. I've learned plenty and it was for the fans, not myself.

So, Bronzino, go ahead and take a shot at being on TV for awhile. Then watch your privacy disappear, your ideals and ethics be tested, and alot of backstabbing. If you don't lose your soul, and come out alive, consider yourself lucky.

~Donna

These are unfair statements to make to Bronzino, as she posted this before Donna ever showed up here to share her side of the story. Up until that point, speculation was rampant and, in my opinion, Bronzino's speculated in the right direction.

This is exactly my thinking as well. When Donna came here to PUG to speak out, this is where it should stay, in terms of talking here. There is no need to be pulled away to another site for more redirection and lack of explanation.

In going to her page there, I saw that she is surrounding herself with people who agree with her. That is fine and well, but she cannot expect everyone and their brother to agree with what she says.

I have said this before, on a different site, but I think it applies to this situation as well: You are absolutely entitled to your opinions, you are not, however, allowed to play the victim when not everyone agrees with it.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

In my view, Donna has every right to handle this situation in the best way she sees fit. I applaud her for answering ANY of our questions here on PUG, as she did not have to do that.

So she changed her mind in the interim and decided to handle questions in a different way . . . that is her decision to make. People make mistakes or change their minds.

What actually is the most disturbing to me in this entire episode is that people would send death threats and physical threats to someone for speaking out. That is truly sad.

You know what cracks me up? The attitude of some of the people here who act as if they are owed something, and others who are following the herd mentality with asinine statements simply because its somebody they saw on t.v. and they see an opportunity to do some bashing. I've been reading this thread since it began and had no reason to say anything – partly because I didn't want to add either to the tons of statements applauding Donna, or to the ones that are cynical about her motives. But wow, some of the statements are just too self-aggrandizing.

All this speculation about motives are just that – speculation. Even after some explanation was given (freely, I might add). What ever happened to people taking others at face value? Obviously, someone's word doesn't mean much when an opportunity to get a cheap jab in presents itself… If you choose not to believe what has been said, fine, but the need to continue on with lines like 'playing the victim' and such are just petty and say more about the people who say them than they ever will about who they're meant for. Remember that.

As for wanting to surround herself with people sympathetic with her viewpoint or whatever… this is the internet & she (just like the rest of us) can come & go as she pleases; she doesn't owe anyone or any site anything. To think otherwise is absurd. Would you continue visiting a site where you'd constantly be having to defend yourself from leaches whose only goal is to build themselves up by tearing you down? I doubt it. Whether you agree with her or not – whatever you may think about her motives, you aren't in her shoes; until you are, show you're a bigger person by not just sticking to the same old and tired internet forum attacks simply because you can type.

This isn't directed at anyone personally, so if you're offended, ask yourself why you're offended before you attack me, please. I didn't give my opinion on anything regarding her or GH or anything else related for a reason, and I probably won't. Personally, its not something that keeps me up late at night. But I'd just for once like to see people behave themselves.

Well put! Aah cliche cliche how you mock me, yet again! ANY person who wants respect beyond common courtesy has to earn it, but I've always felt what separated PUG from the other paranormal boards is our humanity and civility towards each other. It would be a real shame to lose our capacity for objective, rational discussion where BOTH positive and negative points can be expressed because we can't keep our emotions under control. I guess it's one of the risks of being in the spotlight in such a controversial field. You sort of open yourself up to any and all criticism. But being a public figure doesn't mean your personal safety and health should ever be a factor in how you decide to conduct your life. While I don't feel anyone here harbors any TRUE ill will towards Donna, I think there are some out there who are frustrated w/the direction Ghost Hunters has gone and have decided to target her as she's become the most accessible (whether out of necessity or not is up to interpretation). I don't really have an opinion on Donna's feud w/Jason or whoever, it's none of my business but it does sadden me that there are some folks out there that wish her harm for trying to be herself.

I thought we were directed here by admins in the other Donna thread to place our commentary here, confused.

We were directed to myspace for questions.

While I really don't have anything to say or ask on this topic, I hope we are still able to express our opinions, with the guide lines given us.

I think we do that as a forum and opinions are varied. It's not the end of the world, and actually appreciate the different ones given.

But, I really don't have to agree, or disagree, it would be dull here for me if everyone thought like myself.

Opinions are always welcome provided they are written respectfully. You guys know the drill…avoid name calling, be respectful and by all means, share your opinions.

Sympathy, your commentary and opinions are certainly welcome and encouraged. On this thread and every other at PUG. No one is asking you to agree or disagree, only to do so respectfully. It is when some tell others that their opinions are not valid that I, or anyone have a problem. This was originally a thread discussing Donna's interview with Ghost Divas and subsequent backlash. My wish is that is does not come to the point of the other thread where Donna feels that she is not welcome here.

It's nice to see someone who thinks we should all be individuals and not tow the company line.

Opinions are always welcome provided they are written respectfully. You guys know the drill…avoid name calling, be respectful and by all means, share your opinions.

This is also nice to know. Just please, be careful that you don't enforce the forum rules sporadically. I'm pretty sure that someone here called someone else a leach…just saying. And, pardon me, but Donna came here and attacked one of our members as well, I'm hoping she got a PM from the admin as well.

Enough of that, the opinions expressed here on PUG should be diverse. We all come from different walks of life. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't make either party wrong necessarily. It just makes them stand on opposite ends of the spectrum. There's nothing wrong with that. There will always be a voice of dissent on any given topic, I am just one of the (very few) voices on this subject. That doesn't make me a terrible person, it makes me a person with a different view than the popular one, and I'm okay with that.

Donna and I don't agree one this subject, BFD. Life goes on.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

You know – most of the time I am extremely nice. I try to be even. I try to be fair. I try to be extremely unbiased. I allow people to express their opinions, because I believe that it is important for people to freely share their opinions.

Here's the deal. Cheryl, Chad and I pour our personal money and time into this site so that you people have the ability to come and discuss something that we hold dear – the paranormal field. Our moderators volunteer their time towards the same goal. We feel that everyone – regardless of their opinions – has something valuable to contribute to the conversation. We spend our personal time and money – and be aware that we have yet to make any money on this site at all or even come close to having our expenses for the site and the magazine compensated. We provide a FREE place where you can FREELY express your opinions. We don't ask you to pay. We don't ask you to believe as we do. All we ask is that you be respectful and not make us have to moderate these forums. We don't want to. We don't want to delete posts. We don't want to warn people. We think you are all adults and can express your opinions without personally attacking one another. I think in the entire time that PUG has been up, we have deleted maybe two posts. We've warned maybe three or four people. Always for personal attacks. We make every attempt to apply these warnings fairly and evenly. Not only that, but if a post is deleted, we tell the person why and tell them they can repost it without the personal attack or name calling.

As for your specific example – I didn't see any single person being called a leech. It appeared to me to be a general statement that didn't apply to anyone in particular. That was my take on it. If you were offended by it, we have a report button. Tell us it offends you and tell us why. Point to the specific forum rule that it violates. Those are the posts that we ask members to modify – the ones that violate those rules.

Honestly – if you don't like the way we moderate the forums on a site that we pour hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours into then perhaps a different forum would be a better choice.

I resent the implication that we are unfair. We strive to apply the rules fairly to everyone. We just ask you to be respectful. I'm certain that adults can get through conversations – even contentious ones – without name calling and personal attacks.

Very well said Karen. Thank you and Chad and Cheryl for all you do.

I wont go into details (you'll probably remember what I mean though Karen)

but I'll say that I had an experience here where a post hurt my feelings, and

seeing the response I got from the Admins showed me without a doubt that

everyone here is treated equally.
