OfflineThis should be a good one and I'm not talking about from an evidence standpoint either. From the trailer looks like Josh will be temporarily adrift in the Atlantic. Looks like the traditional 15 rubber raft with the 30 horse Johnson will be the craft of choice to investigate an area half the size of the entire US. They need a boat like Richard Dreyfuss had in Jaws. Josh will probably have a compass, a flashlight, and a underwater camera with 30 foot of cable. They will have the perimeter cameras set up as such, one Florida, one in Bermuda, one in Bimini and one in North Carolina. Look for only a one day investigation. All kidding aside should be fun enough. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

OfflineRegardless of the reality, DT is the best show on. Josh brings a believable seriousness with the added occasional witty remark that makes it an enjoyable show. I am not crazy about him taking supposed evidence to Jason & Grant. It kind of undermines the shows credibility but it does show that it is only TV.
OfflineI love Josh and his spunk. I am looking forward to tonight's epi if only to hear what he has to say and how he says it. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

The show was very good and some of their evidence was very interesting. The spinning compass
and the visible camera distortion during a magnetic anomaly are worth more investigation.

Yes, poor Josh … everything always breaking down.

Alright MK, I need you opinion on "sumpin". When they had the cameras set up on the south part of Bimini, camera 4 was displaying some type of anomaly that was strange looking. A couple of posters on the DT forum on SyFy are adamant that it was a spider web or piece of grass up close. I thought it looked like some type of electronic interference messing with the cameras signal.
Sithy was arguing with one of the posters about how they know their assertion is accurate and started calling him a jerk regardless I want to know what you as well as others think. Now I am not arrogant enough to say I know I'm right but I don't buy their theory but if I am wrong will admit it. I value everyone input on this forum, even Sithy's ! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

I saw that post too, that was a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
I am no expert and IMO it did look like some kind of electronic interference, especially since when the camera was moved it stopped.
I love Destination Truth but mainly cause of Josh, if he ever needs a hug I am here for him.

Well, just to clarify, the other poster called Sithy a jerk, twice. Chad did not call them a jerk. LOL
Um, the thread creator on the DT forum thought Chad came off as "having an attitude" in his post, but I can say that was not Chad's intention. That's the problem with the written word sometimes. Intent is hard to read. Maybe he could have phrased his opinion better, but there was no malicious intent there. Basically, Chad's point was that expert or not, the thread creator's theory of what happened being explained by a spider web is just an opinion and not fact.
But, I actually agree with both of you Dover and Duckie. It looked like electronic interference to me, especially given the fact that they investigated the camera to make sure there was nothing physically in front of the camera to create the phenomenon. They also moved the camera to point in different directions to see what would happen. Then, when the camera was moved back to its original spot, that strange "interference" happened again.
So, my opinion is electronic interference based on what it looked like and the attempts to recreate it by moving the camera elsewhere.
Oh, and can we make that a group hug Duckie? hehehe
OfflineI don't know what it was but it definately wasn't a spider web. LOL
I have wired and wireless IR cameras.
I have experienced interference when one IR camera's field of view is crossing over anothers. Especially when it's the wireless crossing over the wired camera's field of view. Not always but there have been times when conditions were just right.
Maybe they were experiencing something similar? It might explain why the interference was gone when they moved the camera and returned when they moved it back. Just a thought.

OfflineHow far did they move the camera when they were fooling with it? I got the impression that the camera was repositioned to see if it was something in the shot or a camera anamoly of some sort. Could it be the wires weren't properly grounded and that caused the interference?

It seemed they moved the camera quite a bit.
I think it's definitely possible that is what caused the interference.

The reason I ask is that when doing something as pedestrian as wiring stereo or video equipment at my home sometimes if I leave the wires loose and don't bind them properly, I notice strange video anomolies on the TV (lines ghost images etc) and odd buzzing or hums on the stereo….aside from my choice of programming of course…lol. All this from equipment not as sensitive or powerful as what he uses!

OfflineI have been doing CCTV stuff for 8 years. That's a strand of a spider web, reflecting IR back to the lens. Wipe if off with a brush. If it recurs too much then use an IR-sensitive camera and a seperate IR emitter mounted about 3' off to one side.
Example: See spider web strand mostly following the vertical post. Note the same 'string of pearls' effect.
Eagle-eyed folks will also see another spider web strand crossing the top of the pic. Closer to the lens, as it's wider and has no string-of-pearls effect.
Surprised they didn't figure that out themselves… /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
