To me, Josh Gates makes the show.

I agree. All the rest wouldn't be good without him hosting.

I wondered about the cobra, also. It didn't look real.

I remember in an early epi. Josh hired a guide. When he talked to the man, Josh said he needed a guide and security.

I think it was the Ropen/Chupacabra epi. There was another epi where security showed up and told the DT crew they should leave the area and stop the investigation. Security has spotted people in the area.

This last episode, with Josh calling the ponies horses had me rolling. Horse person joke. I think it was the last epi. Anyway, he hired the ponies to carry the gear.

They had explained the area had tigers. My thoughts were, so bring them some ponies. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Ponies, gathered in an area or tied would up be such easy prey for a tiger.

Then I thought, whoever is watching the ponies during the investiagtion, without a doubt in my mind better have some type of gun.

I love the show, but the crew is not alone in these areas.

There's an old saying, a man who is not afraid of anything is just stupid and looking to die.

I don't think Josh is stupid, and I think their investigative areas are kept as secure as possible.

Granted there is still risk. What good is security, unless they have some type of weapons.

Yes, I agree. There just has to be organized security on their investigations. Being among bears, tigers, on and on, I don't think they'd put themselves in that kind of danger for a TV show. Sure, I know some people do (like survivor man, etc.), but I think that is rare.

Like when Josh kissed the cobra on the top of its head. I couldn't believe it. And then Chad said, "That's not a real cobra."

So, it got me wondering if they switched the cobra out with a fake one. I just can't believe he's run the risk of death to make the show more interesting by doing something like that.

Maybe I don't have as trained an eye as I think I do or

there cameramen are the worlds best at hiding any and

all amenities you listed above. I sure hope they at least

have a megaphone or a picture of Bea Arthur....something!

entertained and interested. However as said above it's only a

matter of time before one of them is mauled by a "thermal

hit to end all thermal hits", I'd like to think that ,that, is not

why I am watching. The "small" lab they are using in Texas

is among one of the best in the world. The unidentifiable hair

sample they retrieved from the tree was incredible. Josh Gates

has definitely put together a winner of a show.
