OfflineI'm surprised there isn't a thread yet.
Does anyone here listen to Coast to Coast AM? I've recently started listening while at work some and it's always funny to listen to. Like the guy that makes predictions of the future but he can't get the facts about his past straight. Or the JFK people talking the other night. I haven't heard anything about ghosts or paranormal yet but still it's been fun listening to it.
OfflineI find it hard to continue to listen to coast to coast. Noory has completely watered it down, and it is but a shadow of it's former self. Under the direction of Art Bell, I tuned in every night. It truly was a nightly voyage into the unknown. Now it is just a stage for the promotion of endless prostate supplements, gold investments, and prepackaged food. The guests are of lesser intellectual quality than before, and you can almost spin the wheel and guess what any given subject will be about. 2012, world banking cabals, oil spills, conspiracies (boring ones at that), futurism, and anything dealing with the more "fluffy" side of metaphysics. I understand that Art Bell is still contractually obligated to do 13 shows a year, and that is about how many I listen to, lol. He still brings it when it comes to content and guests.
I hate to see coast sink under Noory, but unless it gets more interesting, I see it collapsing under it's own weight in the not to distant future. Perhaps I should call in and say as much during the annual prediction show /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

OfflineFor your Art Bell listening pleasure, I found this shoutcast sever that dishes up a massive archive of classic Art Bell hosted C2C shows 24/7. I am in heaven.
http://www.coastgab.com/index……433.0.html
and I also found this massive archival listing of C2C shows available for download (it is intimidating, the library is huge dating back to the mid '90's)
http://groups.google.com/group/artaudio
and larger, more massive archives are here:

treasure trove for classic coast fans such as myself. Warning: downloading these shows will cause lack of sleep and motivation to do other things /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

OfflineArt Bell seemed to do his show with tonque firmly in cheek. Noory actually believes all the stuff he spouts…
That and Snoory never challenges anyone on anything. Bell used to call BS when it got too deep. I loved that about him. Great showman and thought provoking shows. Miss him dearly. For those who do not know, as of last month Bell has quit hosting for C2C, and will no longer do any more shows, not even the 15 shows per year that he had been doing previously. Last October's ghost to ghost special marked the last Art Bell hosted radio program, at least on coast to coast. It was a fun ride though.

Andy
OfflineI am totally late to this thread, but I just saw it.
Yeah, a friend of mine back in the late 90s got me hooked on Art Bell. Love him or hate him, he was an awesome host.
Don't like Noory much at all; his interviewing skills aren't as strong as Art. His active listening skills are subpar as well. Sometimes, it sounds like he's reading a book or not listening AT ALL to a guest that he has on. I dunno.
Ian Punnet isn't as bad and I like him better than Noory in some aspects, but he still isn't Art. I remember several years back when he got spanked for calling out a guest live on the air and it was AWESOME. The BS just got too deep and Ian called him out on it. He was later forced to apologize and have the guest back on for another show. The guest was Steve somebody or other…can't remember his name but he's pretty wacky. (And not a good wacky.)
Anyway, yeah, every so often I'll tune into the show to see what they're talking about. Tonight I'm listening and it's actually quite interesting. I'm not the loyal listener I was before, though. The show changed forever when Art retired.
