Haven't heard of it Ryan. Why is it closing?

I'm no expert, but I'm going to say not enough fingers were doing the walking through there perhaps? I'd never heard of them (in all fairness, they'd probably never heard of me either so I guess on that front we're even) but I'm always saddened when this happens.

"NING" in it's infinite wisdom has incurred an almost widespread panic and net-wide uprising when they notified creators of those free sites that they would no longer be "free" at the beginning of May, but they bumped it to July following a barrage of protests, petitions and threats of a mass exodus to the "Freeweb" sites. They since have waffled and finally relented by way of the inception of an alternative sub premium and probably limited bandwidth package for like $2.50 a month or something as a comprise.

I think it's due to the guy running it's server company. I guess the prices got too high or something.

Understandable. Server space is expensive if you want a site that doesn't crash all of the time, has decent security and allows you some traffic. As we discovered last year, the inexpensive sites like GoDaddy and HostMonster just don't do well for sites that have actual traffic. I just paid our server bill for this site and it set me back a bit.

We'd talked once about doing a paranormal yellow pages type of thing here - a directory.

Got an email today that the Paranormal Yellowpages will be closing at the end of the month. I don't know if anyone else here used it or even knew of it but just thought I'd pass it around.
