This show is premiering next Wednesday, October 5th at 10 pm Eastern on FX.

http://www.fxnetwork..…..inals/ahs/

American Horror Story revolves around the Harmons, a family of three who moved from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. The all-star cast features Dylan McDermott as “Ben Harmon,” a psychiatrist; Connie Britton as “Vivien Harmon,” Ben’s wife; Taissa Farmiga as “Violet,” the Harmon’s teenage daughter; Jessica Lange in her first-ever regular series TV role as “Constance,” the Harmon’s neighbor; Evan Peters plays “Tate Langdon,” one of Ben’s patients; and Denis O’Hare as “Larry Harvey.” Guest stars for the series include Frances Conroy as the Harmon’s housekeeper; Alexandra Breckenridge as the Harmon’s housekeeper; and Jamie Brewer as Constance’s daughter.

The pilot episode of American Horror Story, shot in Los Angeles, was written by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, and it was directed by Murphy. In addition to Murphy and Falchuk, Dante Di Loreto will also serve as Executive Producer of the series. American Horror Story is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.

Has anyone heard of this show, what are your thoughts on it if any, and are you going to watch?

I have been following this show on Facebook. They post some great clips. I am super excited to watch. It looks awesome.

I hadn't heard of this so many thanks for the heads-up Sithy… I'll set the DVR to record the series right now. I'm only watching about three shows this Fall season, so I hope this one is a winner.

I've seen some commercials for it and it seems and looks interesting…not sure if I am going to watch it…so many shows so little time…watching shows for me is like a part time job…20 plus hours a week…

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

The above are my opinions.

Agreed. Over the top on cliches. Evil twin ghosts, basement torture (or tickle) chamber, open cupboards. Just didn't hook me. I will give one more episode than I'm done. Too bad too, thought there was potential.

Bizarre, some parts didn't make sense, extremely freaky …

I'll watch it again. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

I actually enjoyed it. I didn't think it was supposed to make sense. That's the hook. Come back and see how we make sense of it.The thing that threw me off was time. She has sex with the hubby and in the next scene is finding out she's pregnant? I thought they could be a little clearer in that regard.

Overall, I liked it and will definitely be watching again.

I missed this! I have seen the movie "An American Haunting" with Sissy Spacek, Donald Sutherland. Its based ont the Bell witch that placed a curse on this family. But is this show the same as this movie??? The movie was so-so… I wouldn't watch it again.

It's just me!

No, not like that. This series is based on a house with dark history and the havoc it wreaks on the families that live there.

Plus gratuitous sex and violence. Don't forget the sex and violence.

I really enjoyed the pilot episode overall. It seemed to be cohesive enough despite the surrealism to pull me in. I just hope the show doesn't try to push the envelope further and just become pretentious twaddle. I noticed several nods towards David Lynch in the pilot.

Me too – finally got caught up with it last night. I'm enjoying this show a lot. I like non-linear story-lines that are unfolded to the viewer over the course of the season. I hope this show is picked up again for another season, there's a lot more complexity to it than I expected. I honestly thought "a haunted house" based show would have run it's course after half a dozen episodes, but the writers have done a great job so far.

As a True Blood fan, I'm also enjoying that several True Blood alumni are in this show too!
